Q: I purchased the chair about 3-4 yrs ago from Pier 1 Imports and they told me it was discontinued. The chair is called Madison Chair #13010 Fab#9470. It is a paisley arm chair.
You might want to cut a small piece of material from the bottom of the chair and take it to a fabric store and see if they have the same fabric, then you can have a another chair covered in the same fabric. Sometimes if you can find out who the manufacturer of the material is, you can call them and see if they still have it and where you can purchase it. Other than that look on Ebay or Craig's list and see if you can find a match to your chair. Hope this helps.
Q: Im looking for a good gaming chair that i can rock back and forth in, and it doesnt have any speakers, and its extremely comphy and reclines i have a setup where i sit on the ground and my tv is just in front of me but just a little bit higher. i dont want a chair that is tall i just want one that on the ground and reclines and has no speaker and is extremely comphy and allowes me to rock in it back and forth if i felt like it.
haha? i've never heard of such a thing? try googling gaming chairs goodluck!
Q: Bought a chair over the internet...no parts list or instructions. Any suggestions?
1.)Get a picture of the chair you bought from the internet, print it. Then separate all of the parts using the photo as a guide. 2.)Make sure all of the parts FIT! Preliminary assembly will be key to a successful project. 3.) Lightly wax the ends of each of the spindles, legs, crossbars, and braces, this will make insertion easier and prevent wood swell. 4.)Assemble the legs, braces and crossbars, secure them to the bottom of the seat, then insert spindles to the top of the seat, then attach the spindle frame . Assemble and attach arms last. I use Bee's Knee's Zipper Wax. It is 100% natural and is beneficial to the wood, not like paraffin, that contains methane and octane and I want those chemicals no where near my fine wooden furniture. Good Luck and have fun!... PS don't forget a touch of wood glue in each hole, ONLY after you are sure it perfect!
Q: Our toddler is a very quick little guy and him accessing our desk is a large problem. The problem is our son being able to climb the desk chairs and possibly fall off of them. We have huge and heavy metal chairs but that doesn't stop him from pushing them out and climbing to pull the keys off my husbands laptop. Is there a special device that could keep a chair latched onto a desk when not in use?Moving computers and closing doors aren't options since we live in a studio apartment.
I'm sorry, what does living in an apartment have to do with being unable to put a laptop on a shelf or in a cupboard? Why don't you keep the desk chairs away from the desk, and just take them up to the desk when you are using them. They have wheel locks, don't they? There's a big difference between pushing them a few inches and a few yards.
Q: Risk assessment assignment and one thing i noticed about the room is that the chairs used are of poor condition or broken, otherwise these chairs need to be replaced but my question is what health and safety risks are there with poor seating? links to websites detailing effects would be nice.
Abnormal chairs and the seating in the work place can lead to a lot of health hazards.. I do not have any website in particular.. But surf for the Occupational Health in Google or medscape.. Some of them to list are Falls and Trauma Cervical Spodylosis Lumbar Spondylosis Disc Prolapse Squint And strabismus due to abnormal head Porturing Sweat Rashes Pilonidal Sinus Constipation And Piles Reduced Efficiency of workers Sickness Absenteeisms Buissiness Loss many more.. List goes end less
Q: Where was the Queen Anne Chair first manufactured? And who designed it?
The chairs were designed for Her Majesty's comfort and would have been designed and erected by the Master Carver of the Royal household. It incorporates cabriole legs which comes from ancient China. During the reign of Queen Anne the master carver and joiner of the Royal Household was a Charles Hopson, although the chair may not be primarily designed by him. Hopson, who was later knighted to become Sir Charles Hopson, is also responsible for much of the woodwork in St. Paul's Cathedral. I'm afraid, this is all the information I am aware of.
Q: Have you used one of those reclining booster feeding chairs rather then a regular high chair? Any recommendations? Do you wish you would have bought a regular high chair instead? Is it okay for my 4 month old?
My sister-in-law had one that reclined a bit and then it would sit upright as well. She loved it and still uses it to this day. Her son is 2 now. I think it would be great for a four month old because regardless what people think they do not sit exactly straight up at four months old and that is when doctors recommend trying to start baby foods. I do prefer a booster chair to the highchair because I got my daughter a high chair and she always prefers to sit in a booster. She likes to be at the table with everyone else. When she was that young though I used a bumbo. It is the suishy seat for babies that can't sit up very well on their own. It worked good too. It is a personal choice but I definitely am a advocate for the booster seat.
Q: I recently got a job as a wheel chair assistant at the airport, and I am so excited! I begin training monday, but I wanted to know if there were any people experienced in it, that can tell me, how easy or hard it might be for me to catch on, and any tips on how to make my job better! Thanks
As my parents grew older, I helped both of them with wheel chairs. Working at the airport is a good choice, as you are out of a hospital setting and airports have great facilities for those in wheel chairs. Listen well to your supervisor and don't be shy about asking questions, even about the most tiny of things. For example: I was never told the little tricks like parking and locking the wheelchair when helping people in and out, as my supervisor had been doing it for so long, he just assumed that I already knew about those things. Ask about assistance if you have to lift a heavy person out of the chair. How do you ask for assistance from another employee? Actually walk the routes at the airport, even if you are alone. Some turns and ramps may be more difficult to use, or a corner causes the turn to be a tight squeeze for the wheelchair. As you help someone into or out of a wheel chair, make sure that their feet and legs are not blocked. Ask about the policy for holding or carrying a passenger's coat, bag or purse. Passengers dislike bumps and corners that are narrow and cause you to perhaps bump into them. And, often they will get a bit disruptive. Learn like a pro and act like a pro. Airports, for many, are already a bit hassle. Just think if you were restricted to a wheelchair, too. You would be tired, cranky and feel helpless as others just walk by you. Know how to help them in they need to visit the restroom. Finally, you need to be prepared as well. Make sure that you are using your arms, back and legs properly. One last tip, have you ever been in a wheelchair? If not, ask someone to push you around, especially with corners and such. This will help you to know exactly how it feels and you will learn a lot from the experience. I used to work for a hospital and take care of my parents. If your teacher is good, and if you know the territory and how to work the gear, you'll do great. It will be a fun job and you will truly enjoy helping people in need.
Q: My boyfriend and I were laying on the recliner chair one night and we went all the way back on it and when we were trying to put the foot rest part down, I had to force it down with my hands. Now I notice that I can't use the handle on the side to put the foot rest down. How can I fix this without sending it to a furniture repair store. Everything seems fin except that. And I can tell it has something to do with the handle.
What you explained sounds like a bent mechanism. Tip the chair over on it's back. Now underneath is a scissor action that folds up when you put the foot rest down. Pull the foot rest all the way out. Look for any bends between the the rivotted sections. They generally all should be straight. If you find a bent part straighten it. If it's bent it will be catching against each other. Should'nt be the handle because it's attached by a bar that operates the mechanism. Check to see if the chair sits level. The screws that hold the mechanism to the chair might have been pulled out of the chair itself. Look for screws on the floor. Or check to see nothings jammed up in the mechanism. I,m not trying to be a smart A but they are only made for one person. Get on the sofa next time. lol
Q: I would like to get my boyfriend a nice chair for Christmas to watch his football games and play his video games in. I have a budget of a $1000 but if I can of course I'd like to spend less. I'm going to go to look at some La-Z Bots tomorrow but any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Also, is that even a good idea to get him a man chair for Christmas?
