Q: Last night I went to get the wheaterization plastic for windows but grab a plastic drop cloth on accident will this still work ?
That isn't going to work the same. The only way to attach it to your windows is with a staple gun or nails. This sort of plastic isn't intended for indoor use outdoors...it will get ripped right off the house from the wind. Get the receipt take it back. I just covered 7 of my windows yesterday....here's a tip... When you get the indoor stuff and put up the tapes...let them sit on the window for a couple hours. Don't take all the tape off at once when you put up the plastic! That makes everything a PITA! Take the top piece off going across the 2 tapes runing down...peel those back just about 1 foot. Hang the plastic piece make sure as it hangs down, it covers both tapes reaches the bottom horizontal piece too. If it's off center, having just a bit of the sticky tape exposed makes moving the plastic so much easier. After you've peeled the tapes back the plastic is stuck to the tape...take a small soft hand towel run it along the tapes to make sure the plastic is fully stuck to the tapes the tapes are fully stuck to the window frames. Carful when heating the plastic! I use my heat gun, but if you've never doine this before...stick to a hair dryer. It's best to look at what your heating from an angle, because you can better see all the wrinkles getting smoothed out. Start with a small, easy window. If you screw it up, it's easier to fix. I melt one every year, but I've gotten really good at patching them!
Q: Jeep Wrangler rear plastic windows?
The plastic did not seal correctly to the tape. Press all the way around the taped area and then use the dryer. I install this product every year and have had no problems.
Q: Yo, i am a proud owner of a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I was wondering if it is possible to tint the plastic windows using a self tint kit found at an auto store. Ive been looking for the answer online and can only find tutorials on how to use the tint on regular glass car windows. Someone please help me out before i buy the tint and try it myself and end up ruining my windows. thanks

Q: I have a window that is bigger than the largest piece of plastic i have, is there a way to use 2 pieces like tape them together or something?
Use clear tape to attach them together The wider the better. Lay the plastic on a flat surface, a table if it is big enough or you can use your kitchen or living room floor. Place the 2 pieces side by side (edge to edge). Cut 2 very small pieces of tape and attach them, one at the bottom and one at the top, to secure the plastic and keep it from sliding around while you tape the entire thing together.
Q: Every fall we put plastic on the outside of our windows to provide added insulation during the winter. The plastice we use is said to be clear but isnt. It always ends up that we cant see out the windows all winter. It really sucks. Does anyone know of an insulating plastic that is trully clear and will allow us to actually see out the windows?
You can use indoor plastic kits. They contain sheets of plastic film, which looks like cling-film, but is slightly thicker. The kit also comes with double-sided tape, and you use this to tape the wooden framing (around the window pane). You then cut out the plastic to fit the size of your window frame and fix it to the tape. Finally, you blow a hair dryer on the plastic, which shrinks it so that it is very tight.
Q: Ok so me my bf moved in together last may and have had about a 115-138 dollar power bill every following month. All of a sudden the past 2 months our bill came in at $200 bux! Iam so frustrated bc I always keep stuff turned OFF lights TV's ect. When they aren't being used..Constantly goen behind him turning crap OFF!BTW (Annoying) Decembers bill came in at 206+late fee!? I thought wow ok it is cold outside lately maybe its the heater? Then this months came in at $238 iam astonished dnt know how 2 pay it! So i put plastic from an old shower curtain up over windows even though i was told use plastic painters would use:) all i had was shower curtain! Will this even drasticly help reduce bill!? Could it also be that our hot water pipes aren't covered? Idk if they are or not but can find out really quick! Plz any real helpful answers will be much appreciated!
Sounds like this is your first winter in the house. Since you have electric heat, and this has been a cold winter for the most part, it isn't surprising. You could though, turn off the heat while you aren't home or set the thermostat to 5-10 degrees lower. Then once you get home you could turn it back up to whatever you feel comfortable with. Be careful though, if the temperature gets too low and you turn off the heat, your pipes could freeze.
Q: How to remove melted plastic from house window?
Get a sharp blade and scrape it off. This is the way to get most sticky stuff off window panes.
Q: This is a tough one, I know. But it is true cause I have read about this several times. My question is how is it done? is it the bark, resin, the wood the needles? I would really like to know how a tree can produce clear plastic paper.
I've been in printing for 20 years. The material that I know that is used in the window of envelopes is either Poly (EZC), Glassine, or Crystal Clear (Cello). This is according to one of the larger envelope makers in the country. I've never heard of Tamarack. Below is what I found about Glassine which is a paper and is what I believe you are talking about. Glassine is generally translucent unless dyes are added to color the paper or make it opaque. It is manufactured by a process called calendering; after pulping and drying, the sheets are pressed through rollers such that the paper fibers flatten out facing in the same direction. In order to maximize the smoothness and thinness of the paper, glassine must go through this process several times, and so is referred to as supercalendered.
Q: I have got a lot of paint on my UPVC window frames want to use white spirit to get it off. Will any harm come to my window frames?
It should be fine, it is stored in plastic containers.
Q: i have 2 windows that are always wet in the winter. will putting plastic insulation over them help this problem?
well, no not at all. The only thing we use plastic over windows for is trying to prevent drifts in the winter.
