Q: We live in an old, very poorly insulated house, and it's very drafty/cold during the winter. We've tried two-sided insulating tape that you put in the window sills, caulk strips that you put around the frame, etc. and none of it works. Is it worth the money to buy the plastic that you can put over the outside of your windows? The draft seems to be coming from where the window itself meets the sill, but also around the perimeter of the window (where the edging/molding is attached to the wall). I've read a few articles online about quot;how toquot; install plastic, but they all say that the plastic comes in kits and you need to attach it with the included double sided tape to your wooden window frame. our house is brick and there's not much of a frame outside. What little wood there is has been painted over many times, and I doubt tape would stick to it. Should I try to do it anyway? Is it worth the cost?: Carefully remove the decorative molding from around the window.(inside) Then either stuff fiberglass insulation in the crack between the window and the jam. Or use the foam insulation in the can. Then replace the molding. A lot of people put plastic on their windows using staples

Q: i used to have wooden windows but now i have plastic windows and im just wondering if the air conditioners would still work on plastic windows since you cant drill holes into them.: You'll just need to find another way to mount the AC, like attaching a bracket to the wall instead of the window frame. Make sure you screw into the studs and not just the sheetrock.

Q: Jeep Wrangler rear plastic windows?: The plastic did not seal correctly to the tape. Press all the way around the taped area and then use the dryer. I install this product every year and have had no problems.

I somewhat have stumbled on in case you wash your vehicle in a degreaser, then dry with a drying fabrics like an Absorber . thoroughly do away with the water out of your living house abode windows and physique. Q: Every fall we put plastic on the outside of our windows to provide added insulation during the winter. The plastice we use is said to be clear but isnt. It always ends up that we cant see out the windows all winter. It really sucks. Does anyone know of an insulating plastic that is trully clear and will allow us to actually see out the windows?: Use pure clear garbage bags and double sided tape on the inside of the windows, only cut out the center part of the bag or sheet, and tape the loose part down what it will look like is a picture frame, leaving you your window to look out but smaller. The part that leaks around a window is the frame and where the glass meets the frame,

Q: I rent a townhouse that has very old windows.. LL will not replace them so im thinking of puttng plastic over the wndows.. we are not aloud to put plastic outside.,. Can anyone tell me..should it be thick plastic? should i staple it? or just tape? when i lay on my bed or couch i can feel the draft and the curtans move.. these wndows are terrible!! any help on the whole insulating thing would be great.. i hate having my heat on 78 just to be somewhat warm cause all the cold ar is still blowng in.. for some reason the heating vents are close to the wndows.. defeats the purpose if you ask me..: Alot of times the problem is the insulation around the window jamb. Remove the casing carefully and inspect the insulation. I suspect there is little or no insulation between the window and framework. Buy some spray foam and fill the void. Be care full not to get it on your hands. Replace the casing and check for drafts. If you still have drafts you can buy a window insulator kit. It comes with a light plastic film and double sided tape. Apply tape around casing and stretch film over as tight as you can without ripping the plastic. You can then use a blow dryer to shrink the plastic tight. This will allow you to still look out your window clearly. Your cost to fix each window should be around five bucks.

What is the brand, and where do they sell it?: You can apply Duck Roll-On 3-Window Film or 3M window insulation Kit this product will increase the insulation value in your windows. You can purchase this product at your local hardware store.
