Wash with TSP if its a blind, and use any paint you want, preferably stencil paint. Forget it if it's a shade. Paint will not stick to flexible plastic permanently

Q: Hello all, for several years I have been having to buy replacement Jeep soft top (plastic) windows to replace the scratched ones. The last couple of times I have been fairly careful in not scratching them but I have noticed that even without scratches there seems to be some type of buildup that prevents it from looking clear and shinny as when they are new. I have tried using all sorts of soft soaps and even dish washing soap thinking it would take the build up off. Well, not luck. Here is my question, does anyone know of a product that they have actually used to keep Jeep soft top windows looking shiny and clear? For example, here where we are, they require you to wash everything out well because its a small operation and there are real people around the items, so, to avoid contamination by rodents and bugs, as well as bacteria and the general smell of things, they want you to wash things out thoroughly. However, in the city where my parents live, they can just basically throw most things in the bin, even if they have a bit of food gunk on them. Different rules for different places. So, while it is generally OK to leave the little plastic windows in the envelopes, you specific recycling station may have different requirements.

Q: Do I have to replace the entire convertible or can the plastic be replaced?: you can have the plastic replaced - i had it happen to me, it faded to yellow and was just plain ugly. either take it to the benz store and have them take care of it - or go to a good upholstery shop and have them replace it. so, yes it is very easily done.

Q: Have very little budget to work with, paid Marshall Construction of Kalamazoo to do the roof, haven't seen him since (Even with the contract), windows are in really poor condition and need to be replaced but don't have the funds to do it (Lost job like everyone else in Michigan). I lived in a really old house in Ohio and the windows were so bad that you could feel the cold air coming in... We used the window kits and it really kept the heat in ! We also used some plastic opaque sheeting on the outside windows which didn't look too great on the outside but, it helped greatly. Also, in our basement we have a device hooked up to our dryer.. It looks like a standard dryer hose but, instead of blowing all the nice hot air outside it's got a fine mesh screen and it blows the hot air back inside the house.. GREAT for when you are doing laundry. We also use a newer style baseboard heater in our main living room/family room. We bought the heater a few summers ago when it was on clearance..It's very safe and energy efficient. I also use heavy curtains to keep heat in a particular room. We keep our thermostate at around 60-64 degrees.... In our new house it's a 1700 square ft. ranch.. We are fortunate enough to have a wood burning stove.. Which has cut our gas bill in half ! Q: they are white and look dingy: I have found using a product called Mean Green does a lovely job on the new vinyl windows. I use it on mine and found it great. I smoke and the place we live leaves road crud on them on the outside. This handles it great. Any good department store carries it, spray it on use warm water to wash off and rinse. Good to go.

You can ask the car dealership or use paper wrapping over windows such as a moon or sun roof rather than plastic to glass.
