Q: The back window on my convertible got a hole put in it last winter, since then I've just been using tape to keep it together. I have a new plastic window complete with trim that will make a suitable replacement, I just need to know what kind of adhesive and how to apply it so that it stays put when the top is up and folds accordingly when the top goes down. I'd like to remove the old back window as well.: Does it look to be sewn in?

Q: Their made of hard plastic and are privacy panels: Like privacy screen? We have that on one side of our deck. I've also seen what appears to be sheet plastic on entire porches and then they call it a Florida room. Of course I live in FL so that may have something to do with it.

Q: My son sprayed 50 SPF sunscreen on the front of our washer and dryer I have tried everything and nothing seems to take it off. It just leaves a haze on the clear plastic. Any suggestions?: Well there are a few things known to work on sunscreen. One of them is makeup remover you could try rubbing it around the window with paper towels or one of the Mr. Clean's magic erasers. I dont know if you have ever heard of goo-gone, but it is meant to remove sticky, greasy or just about and substance and should work for the sunscreen, it can be found in the cleaning section at lots of grocery stores. I was thinking even nail polish remover? I dont know if you have tried a very small amount of that on it. Good Luck with this project though!

Q: how do u use hair dryer to put plastic on windows?: first follow the instrctions to get the plastic in place. then run the hairdryer over the plastic,back and forth, till the plastic is taut. read the instructions on the kit.yes, you need to have a kit. you can get them at walmart or most hardware stores. figure a coupld of bucks per window. all the best.

Q: on a bmw ragtop: You can purchase 'window tint' that comes in rolls and at several shades from your local auto parts store or detail shop.

Q: When is it ok to take the plastic off my windows for summer? (the weatherization plastic that you blow-dry tight in the fall) I want some fresh air in my house but am not sure if it's the right time yet. I live in upstate NY.: When you know you'll be comfortable in the house without the plastic on the windows. Some people are comfortable when the weather gets into the 50's, some at other temperatures.

Q: I have a Renault Clio authentique 1.2L and it has electric windows....there is a plastic clip attached to the back of the glass that i presume keeps the glass coming up and down at the right angle but it comes up really slowly and some times not at all....i think it has something to do either with the plastic clip or it needs more lubrication.....any help is appreciated. Q: rail that holds window fell, i took apart and see thta two lil plastic white bushings was broken. but cant seem to find it online or at parts store... there really aint many junk yards around here. do i really have to buy a whole door kit to get this fixed????: SUPER GLUE!!! Nah, I'm just kidding. I am fixing to go MacGyver on you though. So you'll need a ball point pen, some Velcro strips, and four washers. If all else fails, if you can't get the specific parts from the dealer ( sometimes they sell them, sometimes they don't), if you can't find a junk yard, or for whatever reason. Take your window out, take apart the pen, cut it to fit through holes in the window, cut some square pieces of the soft Velcro to fit behind the washers(cushion), use some adhesive( a dab of rtv or something) to hold them in place and rivet. I've used this ancient art of the Mexican ways for generations... I now pass this on to you Grass Hopper!! If this doesn't work, get a paper clip, a piece of gum, and a pocket knife, and blow it up... LOL. But seriously give it a try if all else fails. You might end up having to use a combination of different things, but you get the idea.

Q: i got mad and threw something a my widow and one panel broke so how do i reinforce that otherpanel: no, but plixeglass will do it.

Q: I have a plastic windshield that I want to tint, but have run into some problems. I tried getting a tint shop to place a film over it, but the surface was too curved. Is there another method that I can try? Is there any kind of spray or dye? Also, I would like mirror tint. Is that possible? The plastic can flex a little, so it has to be able to withstand that.I don't have to worry about whether or not the tint complies with the law. So, there are no restrictions.: I just would check with a different tint shop. I ran into that issue with my rear window on my car. A few different shops said they couldn't do it because of the size and how curved it was. Bottomline they just didn't want to go through the hassle. I found a shop that was willing and it turned out great. As for the spray tint VHT does make a product called night shades. I've seen it used with mixed results. On something small like taillights it good. But for a a large window you might have issues with consistent coverage. The tint might look blotchy when your done. Once again I would just look at finding a different place to do the tinting for you.
