Q: I got a little nail polish remover on my shag rug and the bottle says harmful to synthetics-so is shag synthetic?just wondering: shag rugs are made from a variety of materials, ranging from synthetic fibers like nylon to cotton, wool, linen, angora, leather and other natural fibers. since you only got a little nail polish remover of your rug it should not be a problem.

Q: A new home I'm thinking of buying has been allotted a $16 per square yard carpet allowance by the builders. Is this low, reasonable, or high? Will this be enough to carpet the house with some of the higher end carpet such as stainmaster?Thanks!: This is a normal amount for a builder's allowance. They do not allow for top quality..that is the way it works. You can purchase what you want, and they will just take off the allowance and you pay for the extra. Not many will negotiate..this is just the way it works. No biggie..just pay the extra to upgrade to what you want. Your kitchen cupboard, countertop, bathroom, all fixtures and flooring are like this ...upgrades can be had you just have to pay the difference.

Q: ok i got a new throw rug about a month ago and all of a sudden today my cat pissed on. Hes old.the cat it i think he did i for the last week because it was damp but i saw him i know how 2 get rid of the smell but how do i break him of it? and why does he do it?! P.S the carpet does not smell like that new smell: He may have a urinary tract infection. Is he peeing anywhere else and does the pee have any blood in it? You can try to clean the rug using something made specifically for cat urine since some cleans will just set the smell in. Lemons and limes tend to work well to keep a cat away. You most likely will need to get rid of the rug though. Sorry!

Q: I have a long bit of carpet, like a rug i spose but its filthy and i want to put in in my room.. do u think its safe to just throw it in the washing machine to clean??: I had a braided type of rug that I put in the washer, and it basically shredded it. I'd be careful, maybe just soak it or handwash it or something and see how it fares. If it's okay, put it in the washer on gentle.

Q: hi there, i just purchased a yoga dvd (to do at home), and i was wondering if it can be done on carpet (as my whole house is carpeted!) will it be bad to do it on carpet? if it is: Carpeting can be too soft and slippery, and using yoga mats on carpet can be problematic because they tend to bunch up and are often feel too “squishy”. If you’re experiencing these problems then you might be interested in the LifeBoard. But my advice is that it is not good to practice yoga by seeing dvd or something like that. Better to praise under the guidance of a guide. :)

Q: what is the best product for removing pet smell from the carpet in home? thanks: Replace the carpet. Nothing will ever get all the odor or urine out. It's soaked through to the pad and possibly the concrete under that. You might think about painting a sealant on the concrete after you take up the ruined carpet and pad. Before putting down new carpet. That odor can seep back up from the concrete (or wood) subfloor for years to come. Every time it rains or is damp outside, you very likely will smell it again. Better yet, put down wood laminate or something instead of more carpet.

Q: Does anyone know the daily care of horse rugs? Like what to check for. Thanks..x: When u take the rug off, just check there is no rips on it. Or maybe blood, cuz ur horse may of caught it's self. XxX
