Q:my rug is filthy ....we moved in after these people had dogs in my room and it smells like pee when it gets hot so i decided to clean it today and i put Woolite on and scrubbed it then water and soap on it( i didnt care) now its wet and i want to vacuum it up with a regular vacuum .. is this ok and will my carpet stop making my room smell since i scrubbed it twice with Woolite and water and soap: id wait till it dried if you want to vacuum, you could get electricuted

Q:Ok, i have a white area rug that has a few stains, nothing major.. I want to bleach it to not only get the stains out but i also love the smell of bleach, i bleach my blankets and my sheets every week. Im not really worried about ruining my rug, cause its not like its going to get any better. I know that you need to delute the bleach i just dont know how much to delute or how to go about cleaning the rug. Should i just poor it on or use gloves with a sponge and soak the areas?? Please help :) thanks!: Take the rug outside to your driveway. Clean a spot on your driveway (soap and water, brush and rinse). Place the rug on that spot. Dilute bleach 10:1. Use scrub brush with a handle. Scrub. Rinse with hose. Hang to dry.

Q:My dog has peed on my carpet and it stinks a stink I can't get out no matter how hard I try. Someone told me that getting them professionally cleaned will get the smell out. However another person told me that once you get your carpet professionally cleaned they always get dirty easier and faster after that. Does anyone know if this is true?: getting your carpet professionally cleaned doesnt make it prone to more dirt. no no. You should get it done at least once a year professionally anyway.... pro cleaning / steam cleaning / any kind of DEEP cleaning allows allergens etc. to get out of your carpet - so its a good idea to get it done at least once a year! :)

Q:I have been searching online forever, I'd love some outside advice. I'm looking to lend some color to my otherwise boring rooms. The color scheme is dark wood, neutral tan walls, sage green(sofa). The best looking high wear carpet I have seen or installed is a frieze. It's also called California berber, California shag, or short shag. It has a tall, but loose pile and is very soft, especially if you put a heavy odo-ban pad underneath. I've noticed that salt and pepper or similar light/dark patterns look best in large areas. Also, frieze hides seams well, which is good if you have a large room.

Q:i washed my area rug with a little soap and water due to the fact it has spilled milk and puppy pee on it. i was wondering why it has a sweet but yet funny smell and how to get rid of it cause its not in just one spot can i wait for it to dry sprinkle some baking soda on it then rub it in and vacuum i washed this thing when it was 80* and bright and sunny out: Sounds like the puppy pee has crystallized and still in the rug. Re-wash the rug with a product called OUT! from the pet department. It is an enzymatic cleaner that removes the odor and stains from anything protein such urine, feces, vomit and blood. I have used this product for years not only for pet accidents, but from my kids too. To make it easier, I used a carpet cleaner to extract the liquid, but you can also air dry again. Good Luck! ;)

The carpet in my childhood bedroom has silly putty stuck in it, marker stains, nailpolish stains, paint spills, you name it. Carpet tiles are good for young kids because you can REPLACE them. Accidents happen, kids are messy and getting someone to clean your carpet is expensive. This also gives you the option to change the flooring when your daughter gets older if she wants something different. Picking up carpet tiles is cheaper then hiring someone to take out old carpet and install new.
