Leave it there overnight and then vacuum the floor the next day. You’ll then have a fresh smelling and aromatic floor. For really tough odors, you may have to steam the floor first and then use the above mentioned baking soda treatment. You may also want to cover the rug with cedar shavings that you get at a pet store, really rub them in to absorb the odor, then shake off the excess and vaccumm after that. Vinegar can discolor so be careful, but if all else fails try a bubbly mix of vinegar and baking soda. I hate to say though, it may be a lost cause.

Your curb side pick up generally will take it if you put it out in just a few , small cut up (tied or taped) rolls at a time .
