Q: Ive been tolding one or more of my valves is/are knocking, how can I fix this. Detail would be great, this is for a F0RD 460, from a 90. I was wondering if I can just buy some used heads(not sure if this comes with these things called valves, haha)but I can pick up some 460 heads, for pretty cheap.. on those and do a full swap, since mine is from 90 i dont know if year would matter. So how can I fix knocking valves., thanks
Valve noise is usually caused by a bad hydraulic lifter, or a worn cam lobe, sometimes wear in the rocker arms also. I don't think changing the heads would help much in your case. I woud get a good mechanic to listen to it, and tell you first ok, because sometimes, just changing the oil and putting in an additive will stop noisy valves good luck
Q: I was just informed that my 4 year old daughter has been diagnosed with mild mitral valve regurgitation. I have been researching, but only find the information to apply to adults, not children. What general course is taken when dealing with children with this condition and what should I expect? Her pediatrician was treating her symtoms as asthma with breathing treatments, but, I was not comfortable and took her to my family physician, who sent her for the echo, which discovered this.I'm more or less just looking at our options...
Find yourself, or your daughter, a good cardiologist and follow his advice. I do think that this can be handled with medications in kids as well as adults. Good luck.
Q: can a person survive with only one heart valve functioning?
This Site Might Help You. RE: how many valves does a human heart have? can a person survive with only one heart valve functioning?
Q: I started out playing trombone in middle school, then switched to euphonium as my main instrument. (I still play trombone for marching and jazz band, but I'm a little better at euphonium.) That being said, should I get rotary valve trombone or the one with axial flow? I only have a student trombone right now... And I have a professional Besson euphonium.
First, you should know that a valve trombone is different from what you're talking about. Valve trombones have three or four valves, much like a baritone or euphonium. What you're thinking of is called a symphonic tenor trombone, tenor-bass trombone (less common), or a tenor trombone with an f-attachment. The difference between the axial flow and traditional rotary valve on the trombone is one of feel. The axial valve is designed to provide less of a change in resistance between playing the horn with and and without the valve pressed down. Some people prefer that resistance. Either way, the quality of the entire horn is going to be a better indicator than the valve section by itself. Your best bet is to go to a local music store and ask to try out all the professional models - pick which one feels and sounds the best to your style of playing.
Q: What are the function of reed valves on a motorcycle?
They allow a fuel/air mixture to enter the area under the piston in a two stroke engine on the compression stroke, as it is a one way valve when the piston is coming back down the gases are forced up through the tranfer ports into the combustion chamber.
Q: are the carborator reed valves supposed to be open or closed on a 1999 yz 250?dirt bike
the aggregate is slightly skinny. The exhaust will smoke much less, however the appropriate end will ware quicker then standard. replace the piston rings as quickly as a 12 months could shop the engine risk-free.
Q: I just bought my first bike in 20 years, and as a result have had to pump up a bike tire for the first time in 20 years. I was dazzled to discover a type of tire valve that I'd never known about. The Presta. So of course, I need a pump with a special adapter, I didn't know to unscrew that nut at first so I accomplished a whole lot of nothing for awhile, and once I did open the nut, the pump kept slipping off the tire once I got anywhere near the tire' recomended PSI until I awkwardly held it in place while operating my pump with one hand, which of course meant less leverage and so while I got above the min recommended PSI, I couldn't get anywhere near the upper end of the spectrum. Why would anyone use these ridiculous contraptions? The fact that they are used means there must be some rationale. A brief internet search seems to find more forum posts with people saying the alternative (Schraeder) valves are more reliable and don't leak as much either.Educate me!
There have been three major types of valves used on bikes, Presta, Schrader, and Dunlop. The Dunlops are rarely used anymore. The advantages of Presta valves are a thinner threaded body, longer length, and the valve is designed to prevent accidental deflation with the screw tip. The Schrader is standard on car and motorcycle inner tubes and tubeless tires and is the most commonly used on most bikes today.
Q: Hi, in the heart, blood flows through the AV valves and enters the ventricles once the atria have filled up with blood. What opens the AV valves? Fluid pressure from the blood or the SA node pulses?
The opening and closing of the atrioventricular valves is controlled by the differences in pressure across them: When blood passes from an atrium to a ventricle, the atrioventricular valve is pushed open (and the papillary muscles relax and the chordae tendineae lose their tension, becoming slack). At the next stage in the sequence the ventricle contracts. This forces blood out from the ventricle into the artery via which it leaves the heart. This contraction of the ventricle and the corresponding increase in blood pressure within that ventricle also presses the cusps of the atrioventricular valve together until their edges meet, closing the valve. At the same time, the papillary muscles contract and the chordae tendineae tighten - both of which also help to prevent the cusps from enabling the atrioventricular valves to open. When in the next stage of the sequence the ventricle relaxes and the atrium contracts, the blood pressure situation is reversed, the relaxation/tension of the papillary muscles and the chordae tendineae also reverses, and the atrioventricular valve allows blood to pass from the atrium to the ventricle again.
Q: i heard i should get one rather than a Dump valve, well?, should i?
If you are referring to a big truck or a dump truck, A pressure release valve or pop-off valve let's air release out of the air system to keep the system from building up too much air pressure. A dump valve releases all of the air from the air ride suspension or pony axle.
