- In contrast, the cost of light steel keel is higher. An ordinary gypsum board price is also about 20 dollars - up to no more than 25 dollars, per square meter (single layer) 6 to 8 dollars look. And a vice keel will be more than ten dollars, plus expansion screws, hanging tendons, the main keel, the cost will be gypsum board 2 to 3 times (or more).

- Q: Is the light steel keel of the house made of the same decoration?
- Look at the shape and process requirements, the general flat roof is about the cost. The so-called complex two or three ceiling also look at the shape, there are arcs, then light steel keel to make trouble, the same, the wages are high. If there are fire requirements, wood keel according to the standard two fire retardant coating, the cost may be higher than the light steel keel, and vice versa is low.

- Q: The question says it all, I need to know this because I need to hang something up that weighs about 100-120 pounds. I need to know which section of the grid of ceiling girders holds the most weight. The long sections between the intersections? The short sections between the intersections?Or the intersections themselves? If you dont remember what that looks like, think of your elementary school or work office. Yeah. those kinds of ceiling tiles, just the plain old styrofoam style stuff.I need an answer from a legitimate source, not a guestimation.
- It depends on the installation. I would expect 100-120 pounds to be too much for almost all installations. 20-30 pounds is easily possible on almost all if supported over several feet of the rail and not just hung from one or two of the grid clamps sold for the purpose of putting up signs or displays. For example, the circular air conditioning outlets used in some stores that are connected by flexible ducts to the main ducts and the fluorescent light fixtures that lay in the openings weigh about 10 pounds. The variation is due to the location of the hanging wires for the grid and what the weight is doing. I would expect a hanging point directly under a vertical 16 ga. wire running up to the building structure/roof would probably be able to take 40-50 pounds if the wire were well twisted at both ends - but the wires are often just pushed through the hole and bent with a single hook. I am certain that 100 pounds applied in the middle of a rail between two support points is going to bend the rail in any common installation. To hold that much weight safely, I think you are going to have to run a wire through a slot or hole in the tile, up through the upper structure and tie into the building directly, especially if there is any chance of movement by wind, AC air flow, or people bumping the suspended item.
- Q: We are working on a store front which has ceiling tiles in it. However we wanted an open air look, maybe leaving the grids, but no tiles. We were going to paint the grids and tiles, but have discovered that it would be too expensive, because we would have to paint them back before moving. My question would be, above the tiles is just a metal roof, which is a flat roof, so it would have the tar on top of the metal I think, is it a good idea to just remove the tiles for the open air look? or would that make the building too inefficient during the winter and summer?
- It will make it colder. Warm air travels upward & you would have no ceiling to stop that escaping heat. Ceiling tiles. We had some that looked awful. We took them down & layed them on the yard. Vacuumed them and with a paint brush, painted lightly (not in the 'dimples', cracks of tile) so the 'old' still showed in the 'dips', then replaced when dry.

- The connection between the gypsum search plate and the light steel keel is fixed with a dedicated self-tapping screw. Selling light steel keel people know, do not know the decoration.
- Q: I have a manufactured home and trying to finish the basement. I am stuck on how to install a ceiling being there are steel beams instead of wood therefor nothing to attach a grid to. Any ideas or anybody ever done this before?
- you could buy screws with a drill point and a hex head.attach with these to the metal beams drop down enough to clear obstacles support grid with wire hung from screws
- Q: Im looking to put one up in an area that is 20x22.... does any one know a round about price?
- The grid work will run about $.90 per square foot and the tile from $.60 to $1.60 or more.Good Luck
