Q: I am just starting to get back into horses again after about 5 years and at the moment i am looking after a friends horse while she is away on holiday.. feeding them etc.one of her hoses has an unwaterproof rug. I asked her if it rains hard, should i take the rug off to dry, if i didnt get the chance to put the waterproof rug on (the waterproof one, can only go ontop of the unwaterproof one lol)She said don't worry about it, it will dry on the horse.Well it rained really heavy over night and has been raining on and off today, i am wanting to put the waterproof rug on when i feed them dinner, but i am just wondering if i should put the waterproof one over top of the already wet unwaterproof one... if that makes any sense??
My inclination is to take the rug off and give it a chance to dry as well as to allow the horses coat to air out and dry. The heat generated from the horses body will eventually dry the rug, but will have a difficult time. After the rug and horses are dry, then you can properly put the rug on and then the waterproof topping on. Good luck. Janet
Q: i was wondering if you can vacuum shag carpet because i am redoing my room and i always wanted shag carpet but am a neat freak so i wanted to find out if i can vacuum it. --------------------lt;3 Cassie Thanks
Yes, dont worry they vacuumed shag carpet in the 60s and 70s you will be fine!
Q: My carpet is starting to leave a bad smell, is there a way I can clean the carpet? With what and how? Please help!
Hello, I would suggest you can hire the company for cleaning your carpet. The same kind of situation happened to me.I had a terrible carpet with a lot of stains.I called Heavenly Touch Carpet Upholstery Cleaning Company. They really dug deep and got the job done at a great price. They were responsive, professional, nice, and affordable. Call a professional carpet cleaning firm and have them give you an estimate to clean the carpet.Call at (408) 252-5402.You can also visit the website ,Hope this will help: Thanks Pretson
Q: Okay, i already have carpet in my house but the thing is...the carpet in the living room is hideous it doesn't match anything that i'm trying to do!! I would love to just rip the carpet up and put a new one down but i'm only renting this house! Anywho, can i put a big enough room sized rug over the carpet...how tacky would that be. I actually think it'll cover the whole carpet, it's pretty big my living room is pretty small! Any suggestions???
pay attention that putting a community rug over contemporary carpeting will reason the carpet fibers below to be flattened. in case you so no longer get rid of the section rug generally and sparkling below, the fibers below would be a different shade of the uncovered fibers the two from fading with the room's gentle or accumulation of airborne dirt and dirt. Aesthetically, you're able to try this in any room. frequently the carpet below ought to be a low pile style of carpet fiber. it could hide grotesque damages or completely exchange the colour of a room tremendously in case you're renting.
Q: How can I clean the carpet? Can I wash it with washing machine?
When the carpet is dry, the weight is not too large, but it is still relatively hard after soaking and can not be turned in the washing machine. In serious cases, it will damage the washing machine. Therefore, it is recommended not to use the washing machine to wash carpet.
Q: could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.
I think you can use a summer rug with a under rug that can keep him warm, if the snow melts in the middle of the night and the water wont soak the fleece. I bought a waterproof and durable HH summer rug for my pony, and I used it with a under rug. Also you can buy a proper turnout rug.;)
Q: I would like to give braided rugs as gifts to some elderly people that just can't afford much of anything. I've seen them at garage sales but have never made one. I am hoping some1 here knows or has made some. Thanks yes I do give best answers a comment for all your help.
Dad always had Mom save bacon grease so we could use it when drilling holes in heavy iron and steel on the drill press out in the shop. It kept the bit cool while not lubricating the drill and preventing it from biting in to the steel. Braided rag rugs were common and one of my prized possessions is a very large rag rug made by one of my Grannies. My shirts were made from feed sacks and flour sacks. I got to choose which sack of flour or feed we bought at the General Mercantile if the sack was going to end up as a shirt for me. All used wood boards were always saved to be used on another project. Nails were pulled out and straightened on an anvil so they could be used again. Barbed wire was always saved to be used to repair a fence in the future. When we butchered a hog we found a use for everything but the oink. Old fence post, usually mesquite wood, were cut up for firewood. When chicken houses and cow barns and horse barns were cleaned out the hay and manure was spread on the fields to fertilize the crops. Canning jars were saved and reused next season. There were really not many things that were not saved until we found a good use for them. Nothing was ever replaced because something newer or better or faster came out. We waited until something wore out or was used up before we bought a new anything.
Q: We are having trouble with fleas right now in our home. We tried borax already and it did not work. I also heard Hartz product doesn't do anything.Right now i'm thinking of ironing the rug. will it kill them?
Throw rug or a huge rug or wall-to-wall carpet? Ironing a rug may melt the fibers if it is a polyester fiber rug or carpet. I do not think that the iron with produce enough heat to reach the base of the rug fibers. IOW, not a good idea. What the linked sites recommend is steam cleaning, even a professional steam cleaning. Be sure to let the professional know your rugs have a flea infestation. The cost might be a couple hundred for a professional steam cleaning, but that is worth the cost to be rid of fleas . If you have small rugs you can run them through the a hot washer load, and depending on fabric, a dryer.
Q: I'm thinking about buying a 9'2 x 12' 11 rug, but there are no rug pads with these dimensions. The closest pad size would be 8 x 10. Is it okay that the rug pad doesn't fit exactly with the rug or do I need to get a custom rug pad?
Hi, okorder /
Q: I spilled hot hair removal wax on my carpet in two places in my aparment. A. Is there any way to remove the wax from the carpet. B. If there is not a way to remove it, does the whole carpet in the room have to be replaced or just the small area? C. How much does this generally cost. I would rather just pay for it myself than have the landlord try to bill me for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use some ice on the wax and try scraping off as much as possible then get several rolls of paper towels and an iron. Place layers of paper towels over the wax and place iron on lowest setting on top.Replace towels when wax comes through other side. Keep doing this until the wax is gone.
