Q: I'd like to know what quot;wiremeans when it refers to computers. Is it the computer itself or the Internet?
It is incorrectly used for computers unless one is setting it up, since computers are, of course, wireless.
Q: I recently Hooked a newer Pioneer cd player up in my 00 mustang gt!.. it will not keep memory. The only way it will come on is when the red(power) is hooked up with the Yellow wire!.. but this way it will not hold a memory.. theres a few orange wires but i have hooked them up and it still wont keep memory? any suggestions?
When wiring the Red and Yellow together, the radio will have constant power to it at all times. Try to rewire it so they aren't wired together so it doesn't keep on at all times, and as far as the memory issue, I suggest calling Pioneer, there could be a problem with the actual head unit.
Q: I dont' know if quot;a wiremeans phone call, or whatever the original sentene from the story is as follows:quot;Because I had a wire from Hilton Cubittthis morning.quot;
That's from the day of telegraph messages; it was the urgent medium.
Q: I just bought a new JVC CD player well my dad and I are trying to hook it all up, we went to auto zone and got all the parts we need, wiring harness and faceplate kit. We got all the wires stripped and hooked to the right ones except when we plug it in there is no sound CD player works just no sound. There is an extra little clip that has 4 extra wires that need to be hooked up and we KNOW that's what the problem is. If anyone knows where these wires belong please let me know or if you know where i can get a FREE wiring diagram that would be great!! Thank you!!

Q: i want to rewire my trailer harness on my truck. i have a 6 wire roung plug but i wat a 7 wire plug. what is the 7 wires for?
Prepare for accurate and confusing information. The center pin on a 7 pin plug is generally used for backup lights (black wire) if you have them wired in. Being that you have a 6 pin plug you probably don't so you will disregard the center pole. This is the order of color starting from the ground pole (white wire). The ground pole should be the one next to the slot in the body of the plug that lines it up with the plug housing when you put it all together. White (ground), Yellow (L turn), Brown (tail lights), Red (battery charge wire), Green (R turn), Blue (trailer brakes). If you don't have trailer brakes, disregard that pole. The brake lights work through the turn signals, if they are wired separately, it is wrong. Starting at the ground pole next to the slot in the plug, the order of colors goes around the plug in the direction away from the slot, you will end with the blue wire on the other side of the slot next to the white wire. It's very confusing to explain and when you read the colors on the plug compared to what I have told you, you will definately scratch your head. This is the (U.S.) national standard for all trailer wiring, unfortunalely, not all manufacturers adhere to this thus causing confusion for people such as yourself. I cannot even begin to guess how many trailers I have wired and how many tow packages I have installed on cars and trucks. I wish there was an easier way to explain it but the only other option is a diagram which answers does not support. Worse comes to worse and you don't like any of the other answers you get, e-mail me and I will mail you a diagram or maybe even a picture if I can come up with one.
Q: Found some electrical wiring resonably priced on craigslist but it says -----8 gauge (AWG), 3 wire, direct burry electrical cableDOES THAT MEAN ITS 3/0 WIRE? Because I need 3/0 wire direct burriedI am looking to buy some extra 3/0 wire and found some on craigslist for a reasonable price..
8gauge 3 wire means exactly what it says. you will be getting a number 8 cable with 3 wires in it...the best thing to do is dig the trench put the wires in conduit and use 3/0 wire..Will last years longer and you probaly will not have to dig your trench back up in a few years.
Q: I keep trying to strip this damned wire but the copper wire inside the tubeing constantly ends up getting split apart instead of staying together. Im pretty sure Im doing it right Ive done it before easily. The wire is very old though could that be the problem?
You need a tool that cuts through the insulation with a pair of half circle dies so that the wire is surrounded by the cutter, but not bruised by it. Of course, you need a different size for each wire gauge. Some also pull the insulation chunk off automatically with a single squeeze. I'll add some links to examples, manual and automatic. -- Regards, John Popelish
Q: Which internet is faster and quality?
Wired is faster and more secure, with more consistant quality.
Q: My starter I replaced has 3 wires, two red and one black. Where does each wire go? Pictures would be very helpful if possible
The First red wire goes to the solenoid on the fender well right by the battery. the second red wire goes from the solenoid to the starter on the one main post there. the black wire goes from the engine block to the battery on the negative side. All connections must be tight but not not crushing on the battery
Q: I'm trying to install a ceiling fan and I'm looking for some help given my home's wiring. I have a single light switch in the room, and here's what's coming out of the ceiling: 2 white wires, 2 black wires and a ground wire. It seems like a set of white and black originate from the same location (in both cases). My celing fan with light has a remote connection, so there's one black, one white and one ground wire coming from my fan to connect to the ceiling. Can someone let me know how to hook it up so the fan and light both work? Thanks in advance.
I hope you made notes of which wires were attached to the light you took down. Just wire the fan/light assembly in place of the light. One set of those wires is from the switch, the other is from power. You forgot to do that? OK, here's what I would do in this case. Get your self a 'Volt Stick'. This is a small probe that looks like a carpenters pencil that lights up when it is placed next to an energized wire. Best $20.00 you'll spend if your planning on doing anything with electrical wiring. Disconnect and spread the wires apart from each other. Use the Voltstick to find out which of the wires coming from the ceiling is 'hot' (supplying power to the light). Mark this wire and turn off the breaker. This should be paired with one of the white wires, mark that one as well. This is your return wire. The other two should be to the switch. Test this by hooking the black source wire to the white switch wire. Now turn the breaker on. If the breaker doesn't kick out right away then you can check (using the Voltstick) if there is any power to the second black wire. Turn the switch to the next position and see if there is a change. There should have been. This proves that the power going to the switch is interupted when the switch is thrown. Any other result means that your place is wired weird and you may need the help of a professional. So to hook up your fan/light, you are going to attach the black source wire to the black switch wire, the white source wire to your white fan wire, the white switch wire to your black fan wire, and the green wire to your green fan wire.
