Q: LOL He barks, jumps, whines and bites at the vacuum while I am using it(and with a black GSD I do have to use it alot!!). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him used to this? When he was a puppy it did not bother him at all but as he got older, the minute it comes out of the closet he starts whining and barking at it. I have tried telling him NO as I vacuum and he will stop for a 1/2 a minute and watch it but it seems that as I am moving it back and forth across the rug he just can't help himself and he's on it again. I have tried distracting him with toys and cookies to no avail. Short of putting him outside (or in a closet JK) I don't know what to do. Anyone else who had this problem (or not) and may have some help?
I dislike vacuum cleaners intensely too. The noise really gets on my nerves and I would bite it if I could! Shut the dog in a different room, a crate, outdoors, or in the car if not sunny. Arrange to have a high value treat to distract the dog with so he sees the vaccuum cleaner as the start of something nice.
Q: Why are cats generally terrified of Vacuum Cleaners?
Because they are very loud and not something a cat experiences all the time. I vacuum weekly and the cats leave a trail of bricks behind them when I do. However, my 7.3 liter diesel engine doesn't phase them a bit when I fire up the truck and they're standing nearby. It's a matter of exposure. If you ran the vacuum twice a day, every day, it would eventually cease to have an effect on them.
Q: I've tried various vacuums through the years but none seem to do well on the edges of the carpet. Anyone tried a really good one for that?
We have got to find this out and let the world know, I thought I was the only one that had dirty edges. (Not being a smart @ss)
Q: Every dog I've ever owned (of at least four different breeds) reacted to vaccum cleaners oddly. They bolt in terror at the first sight of it, and sometimes bark hysterically. Surely other people notice similar trends.
I have two dogs, one of them will hide in the other room when the vacume is on and the other will try to get a ride from it, barking the entire time of course.
Q: Dogs, toddlers, or women?
Martha Stewart
Q: Our Dyson Slim just broke down after two years of great clean-up... upon taking it in to a DYSON SPECIALIST... he informed us we needed to change the filters yearly as well as have a yearly maintenance check... I have never heard of this before, so I wanted to check into it to see if he was being truthful!
We have a Dyson and this is the first I have heard of it. I read the manual when we got it too. Is this guy trying to drum up business? Most vacuum cleaners you can do your own maintenance by keeping them clean.
Q: This will be my first purchase of a quot;realvacuum cleaner and have no knowledge of brands or anything like that. I know I want a baggless. and I want something powerful, but I also want to the best value for my money... Can anyone give me any insight? Or suggestions for other vacuums?? I have around $300 to spend on a target gift card.
I have a DYSON I love it! I too do not think that anything will come better than that. A Dyson is similar to the Kirby which is a 1500.00 cleaner that does everything. All I have to do is clean and wash the filter every 6 months. They are easy to maintain. The one you are wondering about is the one i have and although it does not have all the attachments with it you can purchase them. I didn't need all the attachments b/c I have a carpet cleaner. It all depends what you are looking for and how much you will use it.
Q: I have a 700 square foot apartment with carpeting and a cat...
the best vacuum cleaner by far is called the Tri-Star.....it is expensive but it truly works better than anything out there....
Q: Yeah they all seem great the first time you vacuum, but then no matter how clean is the filter they just don't suck. I don't have $70-$100 every month to go and buy new one especially knowing that it's not gonna pick up what it's supposed to. I don't have pets and the carpet is short. Is there anything else out there that works? Does Dyson work as they claim? Please don't tell me to switch to wood floor or tile.
I have a Dyson, it is very good with good suction but it will cost you around $599 but is worth paying a bit more for in the long run. I have had two cheap vacuum cleaners and both were hopeless. Hope this helps
Q: My dog sheds year round, but even more so in the summertime. I've gone through several vacuum cleaners that work at first, then stop altogether. I dismantle the hose and clean out the hairs if they clog but I can't get adequate. What could be wrong? Can you recommend a vac that really picks up pet hair effectively?
Dyson's are the most expensive vaccum cleaners that can be found in retail stores and they do a darn good job. But if you're looking for the hands down BEST multi purpose vaccum cleaner then I would highly suggest buying a Kirby. You should be able to find a Kirby retailer somewhere in your area, just google Kirby vaccums. They are pricey, but they are the best and last forever, please believe this! BTW, it's been a long time Bomb, hope everything is going well for ya. Just recently got back from another great visit to JA. I already miss Ultimate Jerk Centre food and Ting, as I always get carried away when I'm there. Always so sad to leave :( ONE LOVE.
