Q:We have a Dyson that doesn't have a bag but 3 filters and we are starting to get many carpet beetles. We already had catiplillers and silversharks but these carpet beetle larva come in numbers! If I vacuum the rooms will I just be housing these bugs inside the vacuum and spreading them more to the other rooms?: just clean it out, but your better off doing it with a wet and dry vac, one that you wont keep in the house

Q:So we see here and there that bagless vacuum cleaners are better for environment but what are the reasons behind it like in more clear details other than the basics (i.e. less waste, manufacturing, paper use).....: i have a bag-less. i empty it off the deck, into the yard. the dust, etc. just falls into the grass , and disappears.

Q:Can I use my vacuum cleaner to suck up the excess co2 in the air?: That's awfully silly! That's like the broad that wants to use a really big air conditioner to solve global warming.

Q:How does a bagless vacuum cleaner filter the dust? Does it cost as much to replace the filter as a bag?: There are several kind on the market so can't quote cost. Mine is an Eureka Altima, comes with atatchment hose, xtension, nozel and furnature tool and a self cleaning ceiling fan and blind brush in small cylinder on the side. The basket and several filters are easy to remove to empty and clean. I have even used it's hose to clean off it's outside when needed. It uses what are called Heppa filters for dust etc and they too are washable. Got mine used for $30 at a flee mkt couple years ago and love it. I did break the brush a while back and when I replaced it I also got new filters and a belt. If you wash the filters each time you dump the basket they should last for years. The basket is large enough that you only have to dump it about the same as replacing a bag. The brush did cost me just over $ 30 but the belt and filters was under $ 10. Oh, my wife loves it too.

Thanks for the help: Pop into your local library and see if they have the 2010 Buying Guide that Consumer Reports puts out. That's the last one I remember seeing. However, I will warn you, I was disappointed. They rated Hoover very high and after having two of them and nothing but trouble with no results from Hoover, I went to a Bissell Healthy Home. Now happy as a clam with my vacuum.

Which one should I buy? 2. What are the pros and cons between the two?: Bissell. We have a Bissell and it works like magic. Eureka vacuum cleaners don't seem to last as long.
