- Q: Are there any vacuum cleaners that have a charcoal filter? If so, what's the cheapest one?
- not that i know of . and it would be better to get one with a hepa filterthey trap more dirt than regular filters and that means less allergys and irritants in the air for you.
- Q: I bought one and it is still sitting in my trunk. I hate deciding on vacuum cleaners. Any advice?
- its light weight and is esasy to move around. the bad thing is that it fills up right away....like me
- Q: They are so dangerous. Vacuum Cleaners with cords are dangerous becauseYou can trip over the cordYou can get suffocated by the cordYou can lose extremitiesOr even worse...DeathI wonder why vacuum cleaners with cords are still being made. They are very dangerous, and it takes forever to vacuum with them because they cause people to trip or get caught up in the cord. There should be a law that makes it so that no more vacuum cleaners with cords can be manufactured after February 17, 2009-just like the DTV law. What do you think about these death trap vacuum cleaners?
- its not that bad,.........but they do get annoying.
- Q: My year old Bissell vacuum is starting to not work so well. It has way less suction than it used to and it makes weird sounds. Our upstairs is all hardwood linoleum so all I'm using it for my crazy 6' X 9' rug in the living room. Maybe all that cat hair is extra hard on vacuums? I don't know why I can't find one that will last. The one I had before this was a Eureka and it still had suction, but the rotating brush in the front broke out after 3 years of use. And it was used in an all carpeted house. What I love about my vacuum most is the compartment in the front that lets me easily dump out the dust instead of having to change a bag. But how to I search through the various upright vacuum cleaners to find one that isn't going to die after a year? Some of them say they are designed for many years, but how do I know what is real in those advertisements? Can any of you tell me what you use and how long it has worked for you? Thanks.
- Consumer Reports is usually good reference. We bought a Sears Kenmore Blue Moon Cannister vacuum this summer when we tiled our entire house and ripped out all of the carpet. With the hard floor attachment it works very well. It also has low emissions due to the fact it uses a bag to catch the stuff and also has a HEPA filter. It is a pretty stout vacuum and all of the attachments and stuff are in a storage compartment on top of the main body. We also have an upright that you can turn the beater bar off and use on hard floors. It works ok, but if you're going to use it on hard floors it is best just to take the belt off of the damn thing because the stopper isn't an electric switch, but a mechanical gizmo that pulls the belt back so it can't make contact with the motor. When you hit furniture or a wall, it pops back into place. That feature was not very useful and would have been much better if it were an electrical switch. Just remember, more $ doesn't necessiarily mean a better vacuum.
- Q: Geddit?
- Haha :) You would make good money, cuz vacuum cleaners are expensive.
- Q: You can sell 800 vacuums for $100 each. For every one dollar you increase you can sell two fewer vacuums. For example, if you charge $103 you can sell 794= 800-2(3) vacuum cleaners. If you charge 98, you could sell 804= 800 + 2(2) vacuum cleaners. How much should you charge to maximize revenue?
- You are on the right track. We can find a linear equation to predict the number of vacuums that will be sold at any given price. At $100 it is 800. At $103, it is 794. Think of this data as two points on a line. The points are (100,800) and (103,794). Find the equation of the line. y=1000-2x. The Revenue generated is the number sold * the price. y is the number sold and x is the price. R=x*y=x*(1000-2x) R(x)=1000x-2x? R'(x)=1000-4x The critical number is when R'=0 == 1000-4x=0 == x=250 So, it looks like we should charge $250 per vacuum. Is this really a maximum? R''(x)=-4. The Second Derivative Test tells us that our value is a maximum. This makes sense. The revenue function is a parabola that opens downward with a vertex at (250,125000), The price is $250 and the revenue is $125000.
- Q: I have two pembroke welsh corgis who shed like crazy and bare floors (no carpet at all). I am looking for a great, affordable vacuum that does not collect hair in the bristles on the bottom of the vacuum but actually sucks it up into the machine. HEPA included preferably since I suffer from allergies to a ridiculous amount of indoor allergens. Any suggestions of good or even bad vacuum cleaners to buy would be great! Thanks :)
- I was at the carpet store in December and they said the best vacuum was the Oreck..They have many different types..so there should be one to suit your needs
- Q: .......towards vacuum cleaners and hair dryersWhat can I do!?!?I've had her for 2 years and I tried to rehome her a year ago because I moved to a place that didn't allow pets.Well the people brought her back so now I am having to keep her secret from my landlord. But she is aggressive towards vacuum cleaners and hair dryers now!!!She ripped our vacuum cleaner apart. Tore off the hoses and the filters. One day I was hair drying my hair and she came running into the bathroom and howling, she snatched the hair dryer from me and started biting and chomping it.She's never acted this way before, what can I do??She's not aggressive to animals and is very timid around people and other dogs. She's not food aggressive and she's very intelligent. But now we have to replace our vacuum and we have to lock her in the back bedroom when we are vacuuming and she will tear down the door and rip up the carpet trying to get to it. She acts this way even when the vacuum is not turned on so we have to lock it inside a closet.
- Um first of all do not put her on her back. No dog likes that. Pitbulls are aggressive dogs. I have had one and my uncle has had one. Both of the dogs were wonderful dogs once they got older and were finally trained to become nice animals, but they both still showed a lot of aggressive quite often when playing or even just showing affection. There was never any tricks that we learned to calm them down other than to give them big rope like toys that would last a while to play with. You also have to remember though, she is only three months old and is entering her teething stage. It will only get worse and worse for about a year. You need to start training her right now though. Dogs are like humans and learn the most and the easiest when they are babies. If you wait to long she may never learn.
- Q: I want a lightweight, easy to use, vacuum with good suction. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend more than 300.00. Also, does anyone know what is the suction power I am looking for for hosehold use.
- I love my Hoover Windtunnel. I paid about 125 for it at Wal-mart. It has the rotating hand brush also. Mine is a 12amp also. I noticed that most are 12 amps. Hope this helps. If not you can go to Sears and they will dump stuff on the TEST CARPET and let you try them all out and then see where you can get the best deal.
- Q: I'm afraid of spiders, but not arachnophobic (if that's a word). Mainly since there are the brown-recluse spiders so I'm more paranoid it's them in my house.I tried to catch it, but I would probably get yelled at for catching spiders with a plastic bowl and I'm too freaked out to try and catch the speedy little thing. I ended up vacuuming it up with a small vacuum and not sure what to do next. I heard it can escape so I'm not sure if i should carry the vacuum up and see a spider pop out.I'm not a tech-expert, but the vacuum has a plastic container holding all the dust and even the spider. I heard it can live and no bug spray is around the house to kill it. What should I do? I don't want it running around bent on revenge (kidding there, but the presence of spiders still get me.) I need to clean the house too upstairs. Should I keep vacuuming and hope it goes away, empty it asap? (I'll have to reach up into the container though...)
- Arachnophobic, and being afraid of spiders is the same thing. What makes this a baseless and irrational fear, is that there is 'no reason' to fear spiders. Yes, brown recluse spiders do exist. Weather you will ever see one is up to debate. Without knowing where you live, I can't indicate that possibility. The recluse is not really a 'speedy' spider, and people have been known to catch them by hand. (just don't try it) Modern vacuum cleaners have a dirt valve(flap) that would likely keep the spider from escaping, and especially while using it. You should take the vacuum outside to empty it though. While emptying, the only way the spider can bite you is if you grab it or trap it in your hand. I wouldn't worry about the spider, and just go ahead and clean the house. And no, you don't swallow spiders in your sleep.
