- Ok, is the carpet still wet?? If it is, then get yourself a dehumidifier to dry it out. If it is dry and still smells then there is most likely mold under there. The mold smell will not go away and the worse it is, the worse for your health it is. Have the carpet steam cleaned first, then still get yourself a dehumidifier to dry the carpet this time just to be sure it dries in a timley manor and does not do this again. If after a steam cleaning it still smells... well then the carpet is ruined and will have to be replaced. Good luck.

I need to purchase one, but I don't like the old fashion designs on the Karastan rugs...does anyone know what other brand rug is equal to a Karastan rug that doesn't shed? I wish Karastan made more modern rugs in wool.

- Q: I recently bought an ikea rug, which isn't exactly an area rug, but is big enough not to put in a washer. I vacuum it regularly, but it is a white rug with big colourful blobs, and the dirt off of my feet can be seen in certain spots.. I was wondering if anyone knew how to clean it.. I was just going to buy a carpet cleaner and scrub it, but there are multiple spots with dirt. Also, I'm not sure if the colours are going to bleed if I try to do that.. I don't really want to buy a steam cleaner, but I guess if that is my only option.. but again i don't want the colours to bleed.Any info is appreciated! Thanks!
- The clothesline and backyard hose approach is what I do with small section rugs. in case you have any way of soaking it with a carpet cleansing answer first, that helps plenty. There are backyard sprayers that can try this actually properly. do no longer use a detergent, or any purifier that makes suds. it incredibly is too demanding to get all of it out and any remants would have a tendency to charm to airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dirt whilst they are dry. Even windex may well be extra suited than no longer something. attempt to do it on an afternoon whilst it incredibly is going to likely be heat and dry for long sufficient to get the rug a minimum of quite often dry till now you deliver it indoors.

- You can buy a Custom carpet or save some money by buying carpet by the yard and using your old Carpet as a stencil. Dying or painting the Carpet is only temporary and it is known to bleed and fade quickly :/ Hope that helped.
- Q: I have a smallish (3ft by 5ft) area rug that needs to be cleaned. It's not worth enough to pay a cleaner and I have hardwood floors so I'm not trying to rent a steam cleaner. I was thinking about using a clothes line between two trees and hosing it down real well with a pressurized garden hose... I have tried vacuuming and quot;beatingquot; the rug with a stick, but there is a dingy coloration that I think needs water/washing to get it looking nice. I wasn't going to use any detergents, just water and a scrub brush then let it air dry for a day or so. Does this seem like at least a semi-good idea? I'll sooner throw the rug out and spend money on a new one than spend money cleaning this one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
