- Q: So just yesterday i bought a second-hand ytr 2320e. After i bought it, i washed it and tryed playing it, but when i press the first valve, there is this small metal scraping metal sound kinda like if you scratch a metal bowl with a fork. I think it has something to do with the spring but im not sure.also, i was wondering if the trumpet valves are supposed to be very easy to press, or if they take a tiny bit of push.
- I don't think anyone knows, because there's multiple Bibles. And people interpret it their own way, and re-print it with different scriptures. As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as a REAL bible anymore. And any beliefs we have today about it are all false. According to one bible, you will be sent to hell on both counts. According to a modern version, you will be excused for doing your wife, and in another bible, you'll be stonned for asking this question (Knowledge is a sin) Interesting that we are the only intelligent life on earth, supposedly made in God's image, and yet the bible says to stay away from the tree of knowledge. Sorry, I don't buy into that bullcrap.
- Q: I live in Houston (where it hardly EVER freezes during the winter..) This winter it froze and the valve on the sprinkler system flew off and water started shooting straight up. Now that it's getting warmer and I'm going to need the sprinkler.. I have to repair it. Is this an easy fix that I can do myself? Or should I call someone.
- If you are talking about the above ground vacuum breaker go buy one that looks just like it some couplings pipe and glue and a small saw . The rest should be obvious .
- Q: Need some info. Ok, four valves per cylinder is better than two valves per cylinder. Fine, why did Ford REVERT to only 3 valves (my guess is to save cost SOHC)? Audi and VW are using five valves per cylinder on some cars, does this offer any advantage over a four valve engine? Maserati even experimented with a six valve per cylinder!!!! (see link) http://www.maserati-alfieri .uk/alfier... but abandoned it (my guess is cost again?) Why are we stuck at four valves or would more valves actually render more horsepower? Pop some ideas best answer to reasonable answer...
- Think of an engine as an air pump - obviously, we want the least amount of restriction for the incoming air and also the least amount for exhausting the compressed air. The ideal situation would be to remove the head during the intake stroke and put it back on during the compression stroke, but, obviously, this isn't possible. On a naturally aspirated engine, the intake is the most critical because the air is moved only by a relatively small difference in pressures. The exhaust stroke, on the other hand, is aided greatly by the super heated temperature and rapid expansion of the gasses. Two intake and one exhaust valve seems to be the most practical and efficient solution - adding more vales means smaller valves and an increase in the overall complexity. I seriously doubt that Maserati ever abandoned ANY automotive idea due to cost restraints. It's far more likely that adding more valves than three or four simply resulted in diminishing returns. Sometimes the allure of a new buzz phrase is nothing more than a marketing ploy - a 16 valve, DOHC, four cylinder engine, for example, is a pretty impressive resume for an engine, regardless of whether it actually is the optimum performance set up or not.
- Q: It's just a small 1 cylinder 1000 watt generator but thanks to contributors here, I verified the exhaust valve is pitted after I cleaned it all up with oven cleaner a toothbrush. My question is can I just replace the valve itself or do I need an entire new head? The seats still feel smooth.
- You can replace just the valve. You should lap the valve to the seat though. That requires a lapping compound and some way to spin the valve. This is done before installing the spring. Lapping ensures that the valve is seated and won't leak. In the old days I have used comet cleanser and a small suction cup chucked in my drill. Worked fine. I know that is not the correct method but it worked and my mower ran for several years after that. Auto zone may have a valve lapping tool that they will loan out and you can buy some real lapping compound to do a better job. I always enjoyed getting the job done with what I had on hand. Good luck.
- Q: Hi My sons car has alloy wheels, and metal valve stems, there is a tiny leak between the valve stam and the alloy on one wheel, we are struggling to get anyone to repair at a reasonable cost. Would tyre weld make a permanent repair?. Some tyre specialists won't touch the wheel, one other wants to drill out the stem put in another, which sounds a bit drastic. Any other ideas?, is it feasible to get the metal valve stem replaced by a rubber version?. Apparently the metal ones get curbed and then start to leak.
- The leak is caused by corrosion of the alloy wheel in the hole that the metal valve stem goes through. You might try to let the air out and loosen the nut on the valve stem and spray penetrating oil on the o-ring which is on the base of the valve stem and is what holds the air in. Turn the stem back and forth a bit to mave the corrosion and then respray the o-ring. Tighten the stem nut, inflate the tire to 35 lbs. and spray a bit of soapy water on the stem to check for leaks. If it still leaks you will need to remove the tire and valve stem, clean the hole and surrounding area inside the rim and clean the valve stem and replace the o-ring. If the valve stem is a pressure sensor type for the tire air pressure monitoring system you may need to reprogram it. Only use plastic caps on the valve stem. Metal ones corrode on the stem and wreck them and never come off.
- Q: I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.I just replaced the EGR Valve yesterday, and disconnected the battery to reset the code.My old valve was nasty and loaded with carbon and the valve wasnt even opening. As soon as I drove it out of my driveway with the new valve I IMMEDIATELY noticed the difference, as it was back to normal and felt like the car moved quick again without the knocking. But after about 20 miles, the light came back on [the car is still running perfect].Today I went to Autozone and had it scanned, and sure enough, code P0403 came up as EGR Valve Circuit. He cleared the code out, and I drove to a nearby store, and when I came back out and turned my car on, the code was back AGAIN.What's the problem? If you have an idea of something else that I should check, please give me an idea of where it is located.Thank you.
- Check all your vacuum hoses for cracking or leaks
- Q: whaT ARE THE SYMPTON OF A BAD EGR Valve Position Sensor loss of power ?1998 toyota camry v6
- Typically when those sensors start to go bad, the EGR valve doesn't modulate properly between open and closed. When that happens you usually notice a sort of fluttering in the power delivery, often when cruising at a set speed but sometimes also when accelerating as a result of the wrong amount of exhaust gas being recycled back into the engine. You sometimes will notice a loss of power when accelerating as well. If the EGR valve is opening more than necessary it will be allowing more exhaust gas back into the engine than is beneficial....and that will reduce the amount of power the engine produces. If the EGR valve is staying closed more than necessary, you might not notice as many driveability issues but you'll probably notice your average fuel mileage decreasing a little and/or a check-engine light being triggered and/or a failure of an emissions test (even if the check engine light hasn't tripped) if you live somewhere that emissions checks are required.
- Q: Just wanted to know what the significance of the number of valves is?I know that theres valves for intake and exhaust if i'm correct.if there is four i'm guessing its 1 for air and 1 for fuel if its fuel injected. and 2 for exhaust?are there bikes with 3 valves or more than 4 valves and why?and a basic carburated 2 stroke just has an intake from the carb side and then an exhaust.please give me more info and let me know if i'm correct or not.
- 4 valves 2 intake 2 exhaust some single cylinder bikes have 5 2 intake 3 exhaust a 2 stroke engine has 0 valves they have an intake and exhaust port cut into the piston
- Q: I'm thinking of buying a used 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. It has a 1.5 liter 20 valve engine, and I really don't know what that means. That's good, right? And is this a good used car to buy?
- Most okorder , and check the service records for the car you are interested in buying.
- Q: Where do I get a electric valve with a 120 VAC coil
- ASCO okorder is another vendor, though Grainger is good. If your budget is tight you could remove one from a dead dishwasher or washing machine.
