- Q: change front wheel bearing on rear wheel drive car, 1994 mercury cougar xr7
- Replacement of Front wheel Bearings on a Rear Wheel Drive vehicle is pretty straightforward. Jack up and support vehicle on Jack Stands. Remove Wheel and Tire Assembly. Drive brake caliper piston back to provide clearance between brakes and rotor, Remove caliper from caliper support and support it using wire to any available point. remove caliper support assembly. remove bearing hub cap, remove locking cotter pin, castellated nut and outer bearing, remove inner bearing and seal from disk assembly, drive damaged outer bearing race from hub assembly using a hammer and drift punch, discard damaged inner bearing and race assembly. thoroughly grease new bearing assembly, and clean and grease the other bearing if it is not being replaced, drive new outer bearing race into rotor hub using a suitable driver tool and hammer, clean disk hub and all bearing surfaces and install fully greased inner bearing assembly and inner bearing seal, reinstall rotor onto spindle and install greased outer bearing, flanged washer and castellated nut, tighten nut until snug while rotating the rotor and make sure rotor rotates smoothly even when nut is tight, back off nut a tiny bit, just enough to get the cotter pin in position, some have a normal nut and a castellated retainer, in which case tighten the bearing retainer nut snug then back off about 1/12 of a turn then find the position where the castellated retainer will both fit on the nut and allow the cotter pin to be installed. Install cotter pin, if it is not excessively damaged it can be re-used. Reinstall bearing hub cap. brake caliper support, caliper, wheel and tire.
- Q: I have wo female rats and an eleven inch wheel and they wont run on it why?
- Every one of these little guys has a unique personality. Most rats I've known aren't interested in wheels I've often removed the wheels from their cages in order to give them more room for climbing other activities. On the other paw, a few of our females have been interested to *some* degree in using a wheel, even when they've had an entire room to explore. While most of these girls were happy to give the wheel a couple of spins then jump off, our hairless girl *loves* her wheel actually holds her tail in a curled position much of the time (this is called, appropriately enough, 'wheel tail' is kind of cute). What really impressed me though, is our hairless *taught* another girl to use the wheel! They don't just run on it, either-- they bounce, rock 'dance'.
- Q: I was amazon shopping for new bike rims and i came across one review that said it weighed 3lbs (being pretty heavy). I live in a place with a lot of hills and I read that wheel weight contributes to acceleration uphills. So what‘s the average weight of a 27in. road bike wheels?(Per wheel)Thanks in advance.
- Two ways come to mind. Either a compression union or a solder union. Both will work well but to install either you will have to dig up enough of the pipe to be able to cut and bend it up enough to slip the union inline. A small amount of the pipe will have to be cut out to allow for the center of the union.
- Q: Is the habitrail sport wheel a good hamster wheel?
- This wheel looks like it's true to it's description: Super quiet. I've used a Habitrail cage in the past for my hamsters, as there was a wheel that looks just like this build into the cage. The wheel was, in fact, really quiet, and great. My hamsters all seemed to enjoy it during the times they would use it. It's incredibly easy to clean, as well, and can be done with a clean sponge, warm water, and sprayed with a half water and half vinegar mix. Hope this helps!
- Q: my wheels are 78mm and I‘m having a hell of a time finding that size.if I bought 76mm wheels would they still fit or are they too small? thanks
- Are you sure they're not a 78 durometer (78A) as opposed to a 78mm size? I ask only because the standard wheel size progression goes from 72mm to 76mm to 80mm, so a 78mm would be pretty odd. The durometer (or 'A' value), however, refers to the hardness of the wheel and a 78A is a pretty standard outdoor hardness rating. So, is there another legible number on the wheel you can check to make sure you are not mistaking the hardness for the size? If not, and assuming you are skating on 78mm wheels, a 76mm replacement would fit fine. It should definitely be put in the front wheel position, however. You'll have a 2mm rocker, but that will just make the inlines feel more like ice skates. If that's the route you go, I'd suggest you get the same set up on both skates to avoid any feel variance between the two. EDIT: With regards to recommended hardness in previous post. Keep in mind that wheel hardness should be driven by your size/weight, much like a hollow on an ice skate. You want a durometer high enough to be durable, but tacky enough to give you some grip. If you weigh 150 lbs, you can go up to a 90+ durometer without any problems. However, the heavier you are, the softer you want your wheels to be to ensure some degree of traction. For example, I weigh 225 lbs and cannot go higher than an 82A without starting to lose traction on my cuts and deep turns. In fact, I opt for an 80A, choosing the added tack over the loss in durability Note: Indoor wheels have their own specified durometer range (76A and lower) and will tend to have thinner profiles as well.
- Q: Individuals want to do this color printing, spray degrees! Do you think it will make a big profit? Wheel rims
- Laser printer is very expensive If you want to achieve exquisite format, you have to spend 3 to 5 million this price, if the 10,000 or so is not as good as a little bit of color, while the laser material is expensive. You can compare the following two things, if you have the opportunity to talk about this side, I am also very interested,
- Q: Bicycle wheel width and not wide What is the difference? Wide benefits Narrow the benefits?
- Mountain bike tires of course wide and good, strong grip, but not suitable for road riding, wind resistance is too big. Sports car, of course, is a narrow road car, road riding a small wind resistance, easier. The width of the tires should be chosen according to the road.
- Q: Does it say on the wheels or what? I never rly payed any attention but I‘m gonna have them replaced for better ones.
- Unless blank wheels , all wheel brands put their logo on the side's of the wheels These logo's fade off easily though esoecially after the wheels have been used So unless you can still read the logo you could probally read the brands name logo. If there logo is fade it off than its gonna be hard to tell what kind of brand they are Best wheel brands are: Bones, Ricta ,pig, Autobahn.
- Q: if a car travels at 60 kmh and the wheels of the car are a radius of 400 mm, what is the rotational speed of the wheels? Thanks in advance.
- By v rω 60 x 1000/3600 400/1000 x ω ω 41.67 rad/sec 2 x π x n 41.67 n 6.63 revolution/sec
- Q: hi i have 8 80mm wheels and i want to put them on my new skates. but my new skates have a hi low setup with 72mm(2), 80mm(1) and 78mm(1). is there any way i could use more than just 2 of my old 80mm wheels as they are better than the ones im getting. please help?
- No, you pretty much have to stick with the set up the manufacturer gives you. While I have heard of two different sizes of wheels in a Hi/Lo set up, yours is the first one I have seen using 3 different sizes. The reason you can't successfully change the wheel sizes is that if you do, you throw off the alignment of the wheels, causing one or more of the wheels to lose contact with the floor/surface you are skating on. Just keep those wheels, and you will eventually be able to use them when the others wear down. Good luck. Steve.
