- Q:What are the benefits of office carpets?
- When you answer the telephone in the office, when you walk in the office area, if you do not want to because of their make noise and disturb others? If you are using the floor, so sorry, I'm afraid you carefully to come. But if you use a carpet, everything will help you feel a lot better because the carpet has a sound absorbing effect compared to other ground materials.
- Q:My cat wee'd on my 100% wool rug, ive tried cleaning it with the usual stuff like soapy hot water, but the smell still remains. Is there something I can use to get rid of it without ruining my rug?
- Vinegar water in equal measure is the best, but you still may have to do this two or three times to get it all out. Do not use hot water; it's bad for the rug amps up the odor. If the rug is small enough, put the soiled area over a bowl or pail, just touching the vw mixture let soak in a cool area not reached by direct sunlight, for a few hrs., then change the vw repeat. If she does this more than a few times, you should take her to the vet. She could have a kidney infection.
- Q:Today I put my green fuzzy rug in the dryer for about 15 minutes to clean it a bit and before i put it in the dryer it was not wet and it was all clumpy when i took it out. I also used an aroma therapy dryer sheet to make it smell good- vanilla. Now it looks like sheep wool on a sheep! I was wondering if you know how to get it back to normal. It is also in knots ( I tried combing and brushng it out). please help me asap. it says:Front: 100% acrylicBack: 100% polyesterWash in cold waterDrip dry onlyDo not bleachDo not iron(It is from walmart)if that helps
- Oops! Sounds like you fried the puppy. The entire rug is made of man-made fibers. The heat of the dryer, especially since the rug was dry, melted the fibers. Since it is from WalMart, hopefully it wasn't too expensive. Afraid you can't try to take it back. Best to get another and put the old one in the dog house. Next time you put it in the dryer put the setting on air only.
- Q:I really like this rug, but it's rather pricey!Anybody know of some similar ones?
- try the flea markets. or street markets, i'm sure they have them where you are. they have rugs very similar to those. flea markets are like a box of choco-lates, you nevva know whatcha gonna get!
- Q:How do I Eliminate Cat Urine Odors in carpet
- Well, my solution was to get rid of all the carpets in the house, and just have washable cotton mats at the doors, in the bathrooms, and in the kitchen. You live with cats, you don't live with broadloom. However, there are products out there that can be used. Check with your local pet store, or with your vet, or, even with a local cleaning company - especially one that cleans apartments, and find out what they are using. The other thing you have to do is figure out why the cat is not using the litter box, and is going to the carpet. If there is no health problem, the number one suspect is that the litter box is not kept spotlessly clean for your cat(s). Good luck.
- Q:im in the process of buying carpet for 2 bedrooms and hardwood for the hall and stairs. what questions should i ask the companies. i already about about install fees, haul-away fees, shoe molding (which should be wood, right?), and what they will use for transition. but what about padding? am i missing anything??? please help.thanks
- There are 2 types of padding in foam. One is solid and the other is pieces recycled and glued together called re-bond. Both have good qualities, but the thickness of the pad can make a carpet feel plush and comfortable or firm like a pool table. The thicker the padding the softer the feel, like a mattress.
- Q:I stay at my current apartment for 8 years, the carpet is not in good condition. The landlord just sent someone to do carpet wash, but refused to replace it. I am wondering if there is any law/regulation regarding how often the carpet needs to be replaced at the landlords/owners expense. Or any way I can request him to replace?Thank you.
- You should have the carpet cleaned and ask the professional person to give their option as to the condition of the carpet. You have been there for eight years so I would gather that you really like the place. If it is wall to wall carpet, after you have it clean, place whatever size carpet that would cover most of the floor. When you move you can take the removable carpet with you.
- Q:Somehow molten candle wax got dropped in my carpet and its really hard now. How can i remove it without destroying my carpet?
- The first thing you need to do is remove as much of the hardened wax as you can. A butter or putty knife works well for this but you can use anything with a dull blade. Scrape up what you can and vacuum the debris. Next place a clean cloth, paper bag or paper towel over the wax. Run a warm iron over the cloth until the wax melts. A hot hair dryer can also be used. Once the wax is melted, it should adhere to the cloth. Lift the cloth and the wax should lift with it. It should be noted that if the wax is colored, it may stain your carpet. Anytime you apply heat to a stain, it causes the stain to lock into the fibers leaving you with a permanent reminder of your clumsiness. It's for this reason you should use a warm iron only. You also don't want to use newspaper or any kind of paper with words or pictures on it unless you want the image to be transferred to your carpet.
- Q:I have a bad dried coffee stain on my white carpet....suggestions?10pts to best first answer!
- try oxi clean
- Q:For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
- My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. Or you will own the #$% rug and the blame for the spot your cleaning efforts make.
