- Q: how do i install the power cord on the 8600 gts. Is just attaching one of the two receivers on the cord to the graphics card and the other end plug in one to a power thing the right way.
- Some specialized power supplies have the power cable built-in and you can plug that directly into the card. If you don't have one of these, then the card probably came with a cable that requires you to plug in two 4-pin power cables (same type that plugs into your CD drive off your power supply) and then the other 6-pin end snaps into your video card.

- This sort of problem can happen with networks. Assuming the network has been set up correctly you can try a few things. It might be the sequence of switching things on and logging on. Try logging onto your computer AFTER printer is switched on. Also you can try not logging onto the network - I have had that work as well. I had 2 computers on a network that were always temperamental. Also check there are not too many users on the network, the printer can count as one user.

- if you look under the hood, facing the cars windshield, the far right corner against the firewall, there's a dip in the sheet metal. if you drill there at the lowest point, the hole will come out behind and a little above your brake pedal. run it through there , under the side trim. not only will this seperate power from rca wires (eliminating ground noise) but it will be easy to run. if you want a professional job, take out your seats (all of em) and run it under the carpet, but i'm sure you have to remove the center console. my buddy ran the wire under the car and drilled through the floor and ran it under the rug but that is such a bad idea because if the wire corrodes from weather you will have a fire.

- Pull the carpet up in the front passenger cabin and you should see a plastic grommet somewhere low along the firewall that you can slip it through. That is where your factory wiring is run into the car but you can usually find enough room to slip one more in.

- Basically no, they are better wired separately unless you calculate the load. A ciggy lighter socket is not water proof so find a proper bike socket. BMW do them, You need to work out what the total load of these 2 are, and check the output of your alternator and the capacity of your battery to make sure you have enough ''spare'' power. What make of bike is it? What's the battery capacity and the output from the alternator. Electrics on modern bikes are usually good enough for accessories, I run 100w headlight 2 x 50w spots, sat nat phone and audio, not always all together, so do some sums on what power you have otherwise if it's only a small battery and alternator you could run the battery own whilst riding.

- I have the HD 3870 and I do not recall it having 3 power connectors. There is only one, which is the 6pin. Only the 3870X2 and the 2900 have two power connectors which are 6pin and 8pin. Read the manual. You might be looking at jumpers or sound connectors and putting power to those items will cause you to fry your good card.
