- Q: What is the measurement method of thermal conductivity of ceramics? Which is more accurate?
- The test speed is very fast.However, the flash method is very strict to the size of ceramic samples.

I love my curly hair, but sometimes you just need a change once in a while, you know? I heard the ceramic flat irons work best, but there are so many brands out there, all just as expensive as the other, and I want to make sure I get a top brand. I love that they actually WORK and your hair STAYS straight and doesn‘t dry out! I saw there were ionic ceramic ones, but they seem like just another gimmick that‘s out there. What are the good brands for just normal ceramic flat irons? I‘m caucasian and have very long (about half way down my back when straight, shoulders when curly), thick hair. Thanks!
- CHI OF COURSE!! a lot of brands claim to be ceramic, but chi is one of the few brands that not only the plates of the iron but all of the interworkings are ceramic too. what good is a ceramic plated iron be if behind it was some harsh metal? they are expensive but they really work and are so worth it. they have different types, but the origional will do just fine. The turbo doesn't get as hot as the origional so don't fall for the flashy package. they have a new super expensive one out too called the nano-silver, antibacterial, yada yada-I like my plain old-and so do a few girls I work with. They come in fun colors now, which of course cost more-but you can get a black one for like $130-good luck and make sure you use a good product between your hair and that flat iron : )

And can it sit in a fixture directly on top on the mesh lid as the black light heat lamp can or would it require a stand? I see they come in 60-250 Watt. Right now, I use a 75 watt black light bulb. - Ceramic heat emitters do not deliver any visible light when they are used at night to heat an enclosure. They do get kinda hot sometimes. It is best to use a rheostat or, a thermostat with any heating device to help regulate temperatures and, the heat output of the device. A stand would probably be best. I have one on one of my enclosures and I never really have to worry about the screen top from ever becoming red hot because a lamp or a heat emitter is pressed too close up against it. A snake could easily burn itself by touching a screen top that has a super hot spot on it. For a 20 gallon, a lower wattage (50-60) emitter hooked up to a device heat controller is recommended for night time heating. I do use red night lights as well when I want observe the nocturnal behavior of some of my ball pythons. The light from these bulbs is very low-vis to snakes and, they also generate heat.

- ask the person making them for you. honestly, i've heard of different types of braces but not ceramic ones. ceramic is made from clay and is always a white/offwhite/yellowish colour. they would need to put a dye in the ceramic before they fired it (hardened it) and it would be costly. are you sure your braces are ceramic? it's a very fragile material!
