Q: I have a well seasoned clay chimnea that my husband brought me home from south Tex. several yrs ago. I‘d like to give it some pizazz! What would ceramic glaze do to it? How long and hot would the fire have to be kept for the galze to do it‘s stuff? I‘d love some deep reds with gold and turquoisesouthwestern flare!: If it is ceramic than it should be ok to put a glaze on it. I dont't know if you have experience with ceramic but if i were you before doing anything i would consult a pottery shop or even a local art supply store. Glazing can be tricky especially when it comes to firing it. If i do something with ceramics i usually have somebody else take care of the firing for me for two reasons, 1 being that i don't have a kiln( a special oven used to fire ceramics) myself also i'm not experienced with it enough to know how to set if as far as tempature and how long to leave the peice in there. I hope everything comes out ok. And remember always look at a sample of what the glaze looks like AFTER it has been fired, never go by what the glaze looks like in the bottle,i have made that mistake and you will want to kick yourself afterward.

Q: Help I have a ceramic stovetop and my kid was warming milk up for hot cocoa ,which spilled over and has burn mark now. I tried cerama briteno luck: I had problems with mine, too! I used the stuff that came with the stove, but it's more like a polish than a cleaner. I use the rough side of the sponge GENTLY and it hasn't scratched the surface though I've been doing it like that for months now. I made an animal, a bad badtz maru to be exact. Filled the inside with newspaper,as you should. Made a hole in the bottom of the animal for the mouthpiece, also a hole for where the ash from the paper can come out of. I made a hole for the bong stem, but covered it with a very thin layer of clay, it is important to remember where that thin layer is because after it is fired, that is where you will tap it out with a pencil or something, sand smooth and place your bong stem in it. This is for slip resistance and just how they are had. Now if the flooring is dull from a cleaner build up or some products will actually attract dirt to make it look dull. If its a build up, try a strong vinegar and water solution to strip it off and the wash with a lighter vinegar water solution after wards. You shouldn t add any product to make them shine more then they are made to since you ll be adding a slip hazard Sealing won t do anything but protect your grout ( good idea to seal grout) since the sealer will not be absorbed into a ceramic tile, only natural stone products.
