Q: I have a russian tortoise. I have been using the mercury bulbs, but for whatever reason, they only last a month at my house- it is an old house, so I am thinking to blame the currents.I just bought a CFL bulb (Exo Terra 10.0 CFL Desert Terrarium Lamp, 26-Watt ) and I bought a ceramic heat emitter (60w Zoomed) Now I just read that the heat emitters can only be used in porcelain sockets. I thought ceramic was porcelain, and don‘t know why they would be using two names of the same thing, so thought I would check if they are different. Are ceramic and porcelain sockets the same thing? And second- is it safe to use a heat emitter and a CFL bulb at the same time in ZooMed Mini combo deep dome lamp fixture? They are connected, and I am not sure if the heat of the ceramic would bust the CFL.Any suggestions? The terrarium is only about a foot high with a large hole wire mesh top, so I don‘t need extremely long range stuff by the wayThanks in advance!
try putting washers or shim, so it will fit, you need to go to a bike shop dude, its the front wheel!
Q: What type of adhesive do I use to stick it?
i be attentive to this has been replied earlier yet to my journey Gorilla Glue is my superb answer. it rather is a sturdy adhesive, making use of sparingly as a results of fact it expands. i might recommend this type over super Glue as a results of fumes the latter provides off and simplicity of unpolluted up. You reported you wished to repair a broken ceramic cup, i assume it rather is for show or used to carry different gadgets now. i would not desire to apply it for eating after putting it lower back collectively. of path, the structural integrity of the item, after being placed inclusive of adhesive, isn't as inflexible because it was.
Q: Help I have a ceramic stovetop and my kid was warming milk up for hot cocoa ,which spilled over and has burn mark now. I tried cerama briteno luck
I had problems with mine, too! I used the stuff that came with the stove, but it's more like a polish than a cleaner. I tried everything I could think of and the only thing that's worked consistantly is a scotch-brite kitchen sponge with some patience and a little elbow grease. I use the rough side of the sponge GENTLY and it hasn't scratched the surface though I've been doing it like that for months now. I only use the sponge on the burns, otherwise, I use regular kitchen cleaners (windex, etc,) and the polish once a week to keep it looking like new. Good luck!
Q: ive heard it is better to go with ceramic headers over something like stainless steel or chrome ? does anyone know if this is a true statement? i guess the ceramic ones are supposed to hold in the heat better?
i had in ls with a B20 headported. i slapped in some JDM TYPE R stainlees steel headers. never had a problem. yes ceramoic do hold head better. ceramic anything withstands heatperiod. but stainless steel will do the job and still look a lot cleaner and nicer.
Q: I would like to shock myself without hurting or even killing myself. I will be charging the capacitor with a 9 volt batterie and a 6 volt. Remember they are ceramic disk can you tell me which capacitor will be safe to do this with or if it is safe at all. I am not trying to hurt myself I might just build like a shocking prank I just don‘t want to get hurt or killed or the person who I am going to prank it with.
Hardest part is riding at a slow speed. That's also the part that they test you on the most. The most difficult part is turning while moving slow, as that is when the bike is most likely to tip over on you. Good luck.
Q: Hi, I‘m 26 and I have the ceramic braces on top, I don‘t have any braces on my bottom teeth. For some reason, I noticed that the ceramic braces are changing color on me. They are starting to turn yellow!! Which is making my teeth look yellow. I brush all the time everytime I eat. (At least 5 times a day) My bottom teeth look alot whiter then my top teeth. Is there anything I can do? I get my first visit to get them tightened in 2 weeks. Can they change the ceramic braces to make them white again? How does that work??
Salt. You can use pelleted lime but since it's in the garden I wouldn't recommend it.
Q: I‘m thinking about putting ceramic tile in my living room. I just want to know if anybody has strong opinions, one way or the other, as to whether or not ceramic tile is really the right flooring for a living room. Basically, I want to know if it will be good for resale. Links to home design survey results, with related questions, would be helpful.
I have some input on this one. I tiled my entire house with the exception being 4 of the 5 bedrooms that I carpeted. I layed my living room tile on a 45 45 Degree angle to the walls. ( Looks like diamonds even though the tiles are still square). I did this because I didn't want a big square grid in the largest room of my home. I would suggest a 45 or a brick pattern or even a pattern in a pattern for a large area. The only draw back that I found was the difference in noise in other parts of the house. I never would have guessed that carpet absorbed so much sound. I wound up buying a 12x20 foot piece of carpet that was the same as the bedrooms and had it backed and hemmed ( thus making a area rug out of it) It helped out with the noise problem. I can no longer hear water from the kitchen while I'm in the back office. Tile is great and you can be as creative as you want with it. It is very easy to care for and keep clean, doesn't hold allergens, and is nice and cool in the summer. ( It's a bit cool in the winter too.) I'd do it the same way again if had too.Good luck !! Hope this helps!!
Q: I have an less than 2y/o LG refrigerator (LSC27910) that blew a fuse this morning. There was no power going into it this morning despite a functioning outlet. Looked at the motherboard on the top of the fridge and noticed a blown fuse. It is a (removable (not soldering in) 15A 250V Glass Fuse. I went to Radio Shack, an appliance repair shop and an appliance parts shop and none of them had the exact fuse. RadioShack only had 15A 250V Ceramic Fuses. I received mixed messages about using the two interchangeably. What is the difference between these? Can I use the ceramic ones until I order the glass ones online and have them delivered; Do I even need to order the glass ones? Thanks!!
The Glass or ceramic has no difference to the fuse proerties, Fuses normally come with both current rating and duration - slow blow, normal, or fast blow, normally identified on the end after the current rating example 2AS (slow) 2AF (fast) You can get both with different current ratings, and both with different duration characteristics However the glass type are more specialist for electronics and you are more likely to be able to get this with the correct duration characteristics. The glass offers visability of condition, some ceramic are also sand-filled for extra protection. Replacing the glass with ceramic is fine provided they are the same characteristics. You may have to try online say through RS.
Q: I want to buy a couple of ceramic bowls to use for my dog's bowls. I want to paint some designs on the outside but I don't really know how I should go about doing it. Should I buy ceramic paint and then bake it afterwards? Or buy some other kind of paint and use a glaze? I am going to paint on the outside of the bowls and maybe on the inside so I would like it to be non-toxic. I also want it to last.
Hobby shops carry paint that works on ceramics and glass. Very inexpensive and user friendly. Just follow the manufacturers instructions for best results. Have fun.
Q: does anyone know if you can go over ceramic tile with glass tile, without removing the ceramic tile first?
Best to remove the ceramic tile but to answer your question, yes you can do it. The tile needs to be down solid and tight. The mortar suggested for use on glass tile has the strength and is the recommended mortar to use in bonding to ceramic. There are several precautions that need to be followed when bonding to ceramic. But it can be done and have done several jobs, bonding to ceramic. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar.
