- Q:i just bought a new psu from tiger direct and hooked it all up come to find out that my mother board has a p4-mb connection slot but the power supply doesnt have any 4 pin connectors how can i solve this problem do i need a different psu?
- Recent and current ATX power supplies HAVE the 4 or 8-pin (4+4) 12V power connector to motherboard. The connector has yellow and black wires. The 8-pin connector usually breaks into two. Just use the half 4-pin connector.
- Q:I’m replacing the existing light switch with a built-in timer, but I have a problem: I cannot use twist-on wire connectors as they occupy too much space in a switch box.Is it safe to use just an electrical tape?
- The NEC does not allow you to use butt connectors on wire unless it is stranded. Electrical tape is not an approved mechanical splice. Soldering is not approved for that use unless the house is wired with Knob and tube, if that is the case you need to use the correct knot and then solder it. you won't have room for that. So that leaves the quick splice connectors which probably will take up the same amount of room as a wire nut. If all else fails you may have to install another cut in box above the existing switch box and patch the hole left by the old box.
- Q:I have a 95 Buick Century that gets a bad vibration when the TCC engages. This vibration goes away if the car downshifts to accelerate or coasts. I already replaced the CV axles as it was suggested originally that they may have been responsible but now it's looking like the TCC is bad. I'm looking for the electrical connector that goes to it to see if the problem goes away with the TCC disabled.
- The connector is usually just above the pan on the transmission. A 95 likely has an E series transmission which means that the same connector will also have the other transmission controls in it. If you remove that connector the transmission will stick in 2nd gear and your engine wont run correctly because the computer thinks the transmission died.

- Q:From 38999, I understand bayonet and tri-start. But can you simply describe what breech coupling is?
- Breech lock connectors are widely used in outer space applications. Similar to a bayonet where there is a push and twist engagement. The breech lock allows the twisting action to pull the plug into the socket while locking. A Bayonet connector first uses more of a push then twist action while the breech lock uses the twisting of the breech ring to pull the connection together. In a weightless environment it is harder to push and seat bayonet connector than by just twisting. It makes it easier for the astronaut to maintain their orientation to the equipment without pushing themselves away. (Twisting force is easier to counter with the other hand countering the applied torque) With the optional wings, a Breech lock is easier to engage with a gloved hand than a threaded ring which requires multiple turns to seat and can be cross threaded.

- yes most pcs' have a spare power lead with a connector and most cards come with an adapter so if its not the right one . theres generally 3 styles .

- Q:guys, what's the difference in using those types of cables? because i have a GTS250 that works fine with the 6-pin to 1x 4-pin connector to the power supply i was just wondering if it has any difference if i used the 6-pin to 2x 4-pin connector?
- There is no difference at all, they are both 12 volt connectors. In fact, all the wires coming out of the power supply are 12 volt except the motherboard connector which is about 8.0 volts. The six pin connectors have current to power small circuit boards that do not regulate their own current, like a SATA hard drive and 4 pin connectors are simply 12 volt conveyers for things like system fans and older IDE hard drives.
- Q:Basically what i want to know is that does A dvi to Vga connector do this: You pklug the dvi half into the graphics card's dvi slot and the monitor goes in the Vga slot ORThe VgA side goes into the Graphics card's VGA slot and your DVI monitor goes into the DVI slotHelp
- If your graphics card output is VGA and monitor is DVI then configure the connection.It does not matter what sequence the connectors areas long as it's connected it's OK.
