- Q: I have a large electric grill, the plates that cook food don't heat up properly, someone seems to have pulled on the cord causing one of the connectors that connects to the plate thermostat to come loose. It appears to have been forcefully melded with the thermostat, which I can't duplicate.
- It looks, from your photos, like the spade connector has slipped off. It's made to slide on with a little bit of force. It might need to be tightened with a pair of pliers before it will slide back on and stay. I wouldn't solder it on, in case you have to replace the thermostat at a later date. If you have to replace the connector, you'll need a high-heat spade connector, of the same size, and a crimper to attach it to the wire.
- Q: i want to remove my hard disk ! is it easy to remove the power and IDE connectors ? will they get damaged easily ?
- Not hard. Turn off power to PC and unplug the unit before beginning. Pull the IDE and power cable out evenly and gently. Same goes for re-seating the cables, especially the IDE, as this connector can damage the pins. On the IDE connector one side has a large portion in the middle. This will only fit into one side of the IDE port on the MB so look for this. Good luck.
- Q: Does anyone know where I can get an 80Pin SCSI Male Connector (External)?
- SCSI is a very diverse common, and has to run off a SCSI interface card which might could desire to be plugged right into a PCI or PCIe slot. you could no longer use adapters to get it to artwork on your motherboard SATA or IDE connectors.
- Q: I cut my cable cable going to my box i put it back together using two ends and a connector any tips on what I should do to get my cable box working its from cogeco and i keep getting the message one moment please but its been hours
- The connector is a male on one end and a female on the other. You have to make sure the wire which should be exposed 5/16 slips into the female hole and then tighten. Your other option is to replace the entire cable wire with a new one. Make sure your box doesn't have a reset button. If so, reset the unit.
- Q: I recently bought a case with 2 usb ports and a firewire port on the front. i was wondering if all motherboards would have the connectors to hook them up or if there is something i should be looking for. Thanks
- Most cases now have front connectors, but your motherboard may not have that type of hook ups. All will have USB for your case jumpers, but our board may not have ANY firewire. If not, do NOT put any USB jumpers on your firewire, could fry your board. If you want to have firewire, get a new board.
- Q: I do not have the SATA Power in my computer.
- Legacy Power Connector
- Q: I just pulled out hard drive from a Compaq Presario 1135CL, transferred it to my old Gateway 702GE. I think both are SATA drives as shown on the drive label. (The Gateway PC power is dead). The Gateway motherboard has a different type cable and socket tip than the Compaq HD socket. The Gateway PC has only one Connector cable with ends that would fit the Compaq HD sockets, but it is presently connecting to the Gateway CD drive and the motherboard. I used that Gateway motherboard socket (for the CD drive) temporarily to test run the transferred Compaq drive, and it booted up fine. But it simply disconnected the CD for now. Is there an adapter I can get to fit the existing Gateway cable and pluggable into the Compaq HD socket, or some other fix?. THANKS.
- I'm not sure, honestly I got a little lost by your question. Maybe this will help. There are two types of connectors for Hard Drives and CD Drives. IDE connectors, which are very old by now but are wide cables with around 80 pins or something like that, and SATA connectors which have small cables with 7 pins or so. They look a little like USB but have an L shaped plug to only let it plug in one way. You can connect two devices to an IDE port, but only one SATA device to each SATA port. So, it sounds like you are trying to connect two SATA hard drives and an SATA CD drive in your Gateway computer? Or is one of these devices IDE?
- Q: CAN ANYBODY PLEASE GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF A U.H.F. CONNECTOR????Also kindly advise me on how can I reduce impedance losses while connecting a coaxial cable between a source and a load through connectors. Like a 50 MHz source and 50 MHz load impedance matching might suffer losses due to dielectrics(male-female air gap), resistance, etc.PLEASE PLEASE DO ANSWER.I URGENTLY NEED THE ANSWER.LOTS OF THANX IN ADVANCE
- Type N connector is one of the best, good to 11 GHz, so it will handle 440 MHz with no problems. For 50 MHz, most any coax connecter will be fine. At 440 MHz, you have to be a bit more picky, but most good ones will work well. The second reference has a list of RF connectors. A BNC connector is very common and is good to 2 GHz. Note that although a connector type can be used to 2 GHz, for example, that does not mean that it is a perfect impedance with no reflections. BNC for example, is not great and has high reflections. Whereas type N is much better, and can also handle more power. As to your question, you need to be more specific. What exactly do you want? UHF Connector at 437 MHz mean what? Most any coax connector will work at that frequency, the question is how well. .
- Q: First off, let me say that my landlord isn't going to fix this (that's not the arrangement I'm in) I have to do it myself - so don't say, call your landlord.I moved into an older apartment in California and there isn't a standard wall plate to connect an RJ11 jack into. I have a single cable that comes about 6 inches out of the wall and then fans out to six or seven smaller wires. The smaller wires are muti-colored, some of them are striped (candy cane looking). What I think happened is, there used to be a hardwired phone there, that's been removed. How do I put a RJ11 connector on those wires, and what's the pin-outs? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?I'm not going to put a phone there, I'm just getting it setup for DSL.
- When you purchase a connector, the terminal will be color-coded. Connect the wires to the same colors on the terminal (red and green are teh two important ones for a primary line). The frist two should be all you need, but it doesn't hurt to connect others. There are jacks that are faceplates tht are flush with the wall, but there are also 'boxes' that generally sit along the baseboards. If you use one of these and coerce the extra thicker wire back into the wall (there should be plenty of space), you can leave it looking nice and clean.
- Q: i own a 92 grand marqius and it has 2 spout connectors but only one has a plug in it is the other one suposed to have a plug in too?
- It wouldn't have two spout connectors unless it had two DIS modules, which it doesn't. It must just be a connector that looks the same as the spout connector.
