- Q: Basically how much amp is lost between the moving parts of a rotating connector?
- Ampo ratio?? wtf? In a series circuit, which this would be, no amps are lost because that is not how it works. A rotating connector has to have some contact resistance (as all connectors will have) but it is going to depend upon the plating and a host of other factors and besides, I don't know the specs on any rotating connector.
- Q: If you have for example four #12 wires to connect together, it's a pain to twist them together. I've seen the push pin type of connectors with four slots. They seem very convenient. For you licensed electricians out there, are they code in a typical residential junction box?
- As far as I know, the connector type you mention is not approved by code. If push-pin connectors are the type I'm thinking of, they are not up to the task. There is not enough contact area between the wire and the contact for a good, high-current connection. I suggest you stay with the wire nuts. They are proven to be reliable when installed properly.
- Q: i have the new iPod nano, i just bought the connector from the iPod to the car. when i plugged it in. Nothing happened. I changed volume, turned off the radio power, changed channels. but nothing happened and it wont play the music. am i doing it wrong, or is it just the power outlet hole is messed up?
- if you're thinking of buying an ipod you should out this site first. they give you an ipod nano for FREE! all you need to do is complete a few quick tasks for them.
- Q: I have a 95 camaro. It is obd1 but it has a 16 pin connector. I tried the paper clip thin on spots 5 and 6 but it didnt flash any codes? can anyone help me?
- 94 and 95 cars that are equipped with the 16 pin OBD2 style connector have built in +12v power coming off of pin 16 and ground coming off of pin 5. The 8192 baud serial data comes off of pin 9 in these connectors. but most likely you'll have to take it to like autozone or your mechanic to have it read
- Q: I need a motherboard that has a 8gb memory(RAM) with ide/pata connector becasue my hard drive i have from my computer is only ide/pata and plus my computer is really slow with 2gb of RAMso please help me out by posting links with modern motherboards with ide/pata connectors thanks
- Buy a new computer and have the old HD transferred to a new one. IDE and PATA are dated tech and it would require either special conversion cables or add-on cards to connect the drive, its just not worth it, and hard drives are cheap.
- Q: I am trying to find an appropriate connector for a Windows 2000 Professional PC. I looked at the back of the CPU but cannot tell, which one of these could be used: a DVI, SVGA, Component, S - Video, Composite.
- Almost certainly a VGA connection. Unless there is some compelling reason to have had it built with something of very high quality like doing high end graphics or video production work, in the Windows 2000 Pro days, VGA was THE connection for video. It would look like a serial port only with 15 holes in it for the pins in the connector on the monitor cable. SVGA uses the same connector as i recall.
- Q: I found this orangish tiny connector thing in my house that kind of resembles the orangish end of a cigarette and has m.1.2 written on it.does anyone know what this might be?
- Any okorder
- Q: Hi, my computer recently stopped working, ie it keeps turning off when I turn it on.Just now, I noticed that if I unplug the square 2x2 pin connector from the motherboard, the fan will run, but I will see no picture on my monitor. However, as soon as I plug that 4 pin connector back in, the computer will shut itself down right after I turn it on (I'm looking at the fan)So my question is: What does that connector do? Does that mean my mobo is shutting it down because my CPU is overheating or something? But I already let my computer sit for a day or so, it simply shuts it self down immediately, without any variation in duration.Do you guys think this would be a problem with my mobo or with my power supply?Thank you
- that 4 pin connector is the processor's power supply as today's processor now need more power then what it can get from the traces on the motherboard.
- Q: I wanted to use my old laptop hard drive which is the MK6025GAS as an external hard drive so I got an ide enclosure but the connectors are different. Just wondering ehich kind of connector I need. Thanks for any help
- That's very odd. The MK6025GAS is a Toshiba 60Gb IDE hard drive. It should work. Silly suggestion.try turning the hard drive over? Maybe fits upside down instead of right side up? Make sure there aren't any cables in the way. Make sure no pins in the connector are bent. [EDIT:] Are you sure you bought a 2.5 IDE enclosure? The interface that you described sounds like a 3.5 IDE enclosure made for desktop/tower computer hard drives. Typically a laptop hard drive has an interface with a single row of pins or a single row of blade-type connectors fits only 2.5 IDE enclosures. Typically a desktop computer hard drive has a double row of pins, fits only 3.5 IDE enclosures. Both are IDE interfaces. [/EDIT]
- Q: I bought Nintendo's Wi-Fi USB connector on Tuesday, hooked it up, worked great, I was sending messages to my friends and all. Wednesday night the wii stopped responding to it, so I uninstalled, reinstalled, went through A LOT of internet connection sharing issues, and now I've finally got the software to reinstall right but the wii is not responding to the registration tool.It says to grant the wii permission to connect through the Wi-Fi connection tool. I have done this, and the wii doesn't respond to it.Note: this isn't the first time installing it. it worked fine on tuesday :#92;Does anyone have a fix for me? :(
- I've not used the USB connector, but it is supposed to be significantly simpler than a wifi router. Go to the Wii internet settings. Try creating a new wireless connection and select the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector and see if it finds it. This is is what you've done in the past, correct? Either the Wii will give you an error or the program running in the computer will. btw - you're not running Vista, are you? Nintendo notes that the USB connector won't work on Vista. Also, because this is Wi-Fi, line of sight has nothing to do with this at all.
