Q: I have a 1997 Toyota Previa. I failed a smog check and the mechanic gave this reason: timing connector doesn't ground for ignition timing to be checked. He said the Check Engine Light is supposed to come on when the connector is grounded, but it doesn't.Where/what is this timing connector, and does this have anything to do with the OBD-II connector under the driver's seat?: if your van failed smog check then you need to do a tune up spark plug,spark plug wires etc. Change O2 sensor and cat converter

Q: I have got a pin stuck in my VGA connector. I can't open it up and it's pretty jammed. Any ideas?Thanks!: Depends on how far its jammed in, VGA pins are generally a pretty loose ish fit, try some very fine nose Plyers and a scapel or a sharp craft knife, even a pair of fine tweezers would probably get it out. If its snapped flush to the base of the connector, the only thing you could try is pressing the molex package back to reveal the the sockets, then squeeze, lastly on the pcb side of the plug try applying some pressure to the back of the socket where there should be what looks like som L shaped pins soldered to the pcb, if all fails get a new GPU, Ash x

Q: I recently discovered that I have some sort of TV cable on the second story of my house and I want to connect a new TV there. The problem is I don't think it has a cable connector on the wire.My question is where do I buy it and how would I connect it. Websites are fine.: So, it's just a RF coax cable, but no coax connector? You'll need to get a crimping tool and maybe a few connectors (sometimes the tool comes with a few.) You can find the tool at Home Depot or Lowes in their home speaker/video wiring section (not electrical wiring) The crimping tool comes with directions. It's pretty easy. You'll need to strip some of the insulation from the wire (using the tool) then put a connector on the end, and finally use the tool to crimp it to the wire. That's all there is to it really.

Q: Here is a picture of the part I am looking at: Jeep do not list connectors in the parts lists. If you want to buy one from Jeep you would have to buy a new engine loom. If the connector is damaged you may be able to get one from a recyclers. If it's just the connectors within the switch ask a dealer about a wiring repair kit in case they have one for that.

Q: I'm attempting to connect my SATA power cable into the SATA power slot on my Asus DVD burner, but the cable doesn't seem to fit properly. It looks as if it would fit, but it doesn't. Should I be looking into purchasing a different SATA power cable that actually fits this DVD burner? Or perhaps purchase a different DVD burner?: Did you try flipping the cable around? They are notched, so they only go in one way. If it doesn't fit then, it's either damaged, or not a true SATA connector. This is odd. I've never seen a non-standard SATA connector/cable before. Sometimes they're a bit tough to fit in. If the notch is lined up correctly, give it a bit more elbow grease, but use common sense in doing so. They're tough to get in sometimes. EDIT: The drive is in fact a true SATA drive, so it's either a weird cable, damage, or you not doing something right. Also, you do know the difference between the data and power cables, right? Just making sure. Not trying to insult.

Image of the connector:: I don't know what kind of connector that is or if it's just some kind of terminal strip cables used to be connected to I can tell you the color codes of the wires coming out of the tonearm Red right channel hot green right channel ground white left channel hot blue left channel ground I would just buy a terminal strip to mount inside the table, cut one end off a stereo interconnect cable and use that method to connect the tonearm wires to a stereo interconnect (rca cable). Run the RCA cable into the table through an opening in the case and secure the cable with a clamp to keep stress off the connections. In the interconnect cable, the center wires are hot (center pins of the RCA plugs) and the outer wires are the grounds (outer sleeve of the RCA plugs). Good luck! EDIT: Really, I don't see any reason you couldn't use that existing thing as your terminal strip. Just solder your RCA cables to the same terminals the appropriate tonearm wires are connected to. You would just need to find some way to secure your RCA cable and keep any stress off the connections.
