- Q: 14. Three parallel wires carry currents, with magnitudes and in the directions shown in the figure below. The wires all lie in a plane, and are all 2 m long, with separations between them as shown in the figure. What is the total force on wire #3 due to wire #1 and wire #2? Wire 1 : 6A, 2.5 m from Wire 3 ---------------------gt;Wire 2: 3A, 1.0 m from Wire 3 lt;--------------------Wire 3: 3A ---------------------gt;Can't figure it out, any hints/suggestions?
- force between two current carrying wires per unit length = 10^-7*2i_1*i_2/a if current is in same direction force is attractive else repulsive.. now you use this and solve yourself.. as it is not clear from the data you provided.. whether the wire 3 is in middle or left end or right end.. but i have told you the concept.. i hope this helps.. if u need more help provide me with the image
- Q: Has anyone tried to use or experiment to use CAT5E wire on a speaker going to Home theater receiver? If none, can you suggest a good speaker wire to use on a speaker.Paradigm Monitor Series and Onkyo TX-SR606 (Speaker and Receiver)
- Speaker wire is a big subject that prompts some very heated debates amongst the serious enthusiast crowd. Using CAT5 as speaker cable is usually motivated by either one of two thoughts: Saving money, or improving performance. I can see the point in saving money compared to say Hi-Fi speaker cables at $5/ft, but there are perfectly good OFC copper cables of decent gauge such as 79 strand that actually work out just as cheap. The other issue with cost saving is that not all CAT5e is created equal. A lot of the budget stuff from China is copper clad aluminium rather than pure copper. You'd never choose to run your speakers with aluminium cable, so why take the risk if using CAT5e? Performance is something different. That's very subjective. The reasoning why CAT5e is based on the high frequency performance of the cable. But in hi-fi world we need current delivery more than high frequency extension. My own view is that CAT5e sounds different enough to - buy not necessarily better than - basic OFC 79 strand for most listeners to hear the change fairly easily. Treble and to a lesser degree the bass gets accentuated at the expense of midrange. It's a bit like hitting the Loudness button. The sound has a bit more presence at the expense of naturalness. Personally I think the benefits are dubious and not worth the effort. Get a decent gauge OFC that's nice and flexible rather than some plaited network cable.
- Q: I have a 1990 chevy c1500 2wheel drive. I bought it not running. I have found the problem and it the tbi injectors are not hooked up. The 4 wires on the 2 injectors are red and the 4 wires going to the tbi are red, blue, green, white. what wires go were? Thanx for all your help.
- The red and white wires are the power to each injector and are actually hooked to each other in the harness. These 2 wires should be hot when you turn the key on. The green and blue wires are the grounds that lead back to the ecm. The red and blue wires go to the passenger side injector (red is far left as you face the vehicle). The white and green go to drivers side (white on left as you face it)
- Q: How is commercial wiring differ from residental wiring in design, operation and etc?
- Commercial Electrical Wiring
- Q: I have an old house and am replacing a dimmer switch in the kitchen. The old switch is has only 2 wires coming out of the switch that are both black. From the wall 2 wires connect to the 2 black wires on the switch, one is black which I have concluded is hot and the other is red, which must be the common wire. My question is that there is a 3rd wired that is pushed into the electrical box that is capped and not being used. This wire is white. I can only assume that would be a ground wire, but why would it be white in color. Can you tell me what the coloring scheme was for wiring old houses? Now I can connect the switch and use only the black and red wire, but would like to ground it properly if possible.
- These would be normally. You should have them checked before you connect something. Black is hot White Neutral Red wires are also used for hot wires, switch legs (like to a ceiling fan), and are the second hot wire in 220-volt installations. Another useful application is the interconnect wire between two hardwired smoke detectors. A ground would be green or bare.
- Q: I am trying to run a wire from a breaker box to a new plug. To get to the new plug, I have to run the wire over a garage with a finished ceiling, around, through, or over 2 half staircases ( bi level) to get to the unfinished wall to run to the new plug. What would be the proper way to run this wire.
- YOU CAN USE 100 AMP WIRE ONLY IF IT HAS A BREAKER AT THE POLE BOX FOR 100 AMPS
- Q: is this a wire that like is the same as buying any other one?
- If you're pushing less than 1000w rms, you should just use 10awg, if you're pushing up to 500w use 12awg.
- Q: when u first get braces do they put the bands and the wire or just the bands cuz im getting them monday
- They Should Put The Brackets And The Wire Give You A Color. You Get Rubber Bands Way Later, If You Need To Fix Your Bite. That's How It Went For Me Anyway. Hope I Could Help. :)
- Q: my questions is what wires go where. i just bought a Hunter thermostat model # 44155c. on my old thermostat the wires are as followes:W2-jumps to quot;F(Yellow Wire)F-Yellow WireO/B-Light Green WireR-Red WireG-Dark GreenC-Red Wire Y-Yellow WireMy new thermostat has these options:RH, RC, G, Y/O, W/B, Y1can anyone tell me what wires go where?thank you
- you were suppost to mark the wires by which they were screw to by color code; w rd blk etc.and then wire to new unit with same color code, some terminals need a small branch wire to bypass, lets say an ac with a heat pump.Ok now this is what an ac man will do, he will go to the compressor and write where the wires there are wired and then he would look up the color code and put the wires where they go. Also i relie heavily on the 800 help line number. Some ac men will put different colors on the wrong terminals, put a sticker on the unit and when there is trouble, they will call him,if all the wires were black and he knowes where they go, you see. A trusted ac man would be a great help, and remember, you're checking at the wall, not at the unit where the signals are not being recieved correctly, the thermostat is the brain, and one more thing, you are on the right track, because a progamable thermostat can save you a lot of money especiall if you're gone a lot.
- Q: The wires I have are: 1 red starter cable, 1 tan wire, 1 ground wire to the engine block, 1 red wire to the battery, and 1 red wire that splits into the fuse and into the junction strip. Really need to know which wires go where on the solenoid.
- The tan wire is the overtemp warning horn, should have a flat connector on it, connect it to the temp switch near the top of the cylinder head at the back. solenoid has four terminals, 2 large, 2 small. 1 large terminal gets the battery (+) cable *and* the red wire with the inline fuse (it provides +12V to the keyswitch), the other split end gets juice from the alternator for charging the battery. On the terminal strip, it should hook up to red wire coming from the rectifier (small metal canister-shaped device). It's best to secure the battery cable with a nut, then the red wire with a second nut. The other large terminal gets the cable from the starter positive terminal. 1 small terminal gets the white wire from the main wiring harness plug (it's the start circuit), and the other small terminal gets grounded -- just run a black wire from there to any good engine block ground. The small terminals actuate the solenoid, closing the circuit between the battery and the starter motor. To test the overtemp warning circuit, touch the end of the tan wire to the cylinder head with the key in the on position -- steady tone should sound from the buzzer located in the control box. Might want to take a closer look at your tan wire -- maybe the white one yellowed a bit. In '79 they changed that to yellow/red.
