Q: how do i tap a speaker wire? car audio not really my department
Just buy a wire stripper, strip the wire and connect the new wire. Remember to wrap electrical tape around it and you're done. You can also buy wire taps but they sometimes don't work due to a bad connection. Stripping the wire is the best solution.
Q: Hi,I'm trying to connect a Panasonic CQ RDP200-LEN car radio. Normally, there is red and yellow wire for ignition and constant, and a black wire for ground. However, this unit has 2 yellow wires,2 black wires and a red. Where do these wires go? thanks
I know waht you talking about for the wiring. my dual deck was the same way as far as the average wiring you were talking about..... that does sound weird. the other wires might just be for xtra hook ups that u dnt have. however dont take my word for that! what i would do is looking up the wiring diagram for the exact model that you have, look at the manual that came with it if there was one, or call a number for the wiring on the deck if there is one.
Q: have black (hot) and 2 whites from the house. Got Black,green.blue.and white from the fan. Any clues on how to wire this? There is a light switch involved. I know to match the colors but what do with the blue (light) wire is beyond me.
Mark is Correct except for one thing that caught my attention: you said you have 2 White Wires and 1 Black Wire coming from the house.....WHY 2 White Wires and only 1 Black, Doesn't add up Correctly, unless one of those White Wires was marked with a piece of Black Tape to identify it as a second Hot Wire which would then be used to separate the Fan Motor from the Fan Light by each having its own separate power source.......Be Careful!!
Q: when i wire these together the light stays on. help
blacks to blacks, whites to whites
Q: @topicAnd does the size of the wire matter in electrical consumption?
The size of the wire that matters in electrical consumption.
Q: Hello,I'm trying to replace my old ceiling fan with a new one but i can't seem to figure out the wiring.I have three wires coming out of the ceiling: 1) Two white ones that were connected together when the old ceiling fan was installed2) A grey wireI have four wires in the new fan:1) Black2) Black and White (would connect with the black based on the instructions)3) Green Grounding4) WhiteCan you help me figure out the connections. Thanks!
I wish contractors followed the wiring / building codes. The white wires are neutral wires that return the circuit back to the panel. Grey? where in the world did that come from BUT I have to assume that it's the hot wire from the panel. Black black with the white tracer to your grey wire. White to the white if at all possiable put a screw in the box with the green wire or at least wrap it around the screw from the horseshoe that you are putting in the box. Be sure that the switch is off. If it's wired properly there will be no hot wire in the ceiling box. The hot is open at the switch. That's why the light doesn't turn on. Follow me?
Q: what wires connect from the vehicle to the a/f sensor
Why do u want to know what wires go to the sensor? If you have a code for the a/f sensor..99 % of the time it is an open in the sensor itself. On rare occasion there are others like a chewed wire by a rodent. But I would just recommend replacing the a/f sensor. And i u were to follow the wires from the male connector they would lead you to a big wire harness that basically just all ends up at the ECU. Just in case u wanted to know.
Q: Who sells just 4 gauge power and ground wire so I can do the big 3 upgrade?
You okorder /... It's also available with black insulation and in 2 gauge. Parts Express also sells appropriate ring terminals.
Q: for a kids robot kitabout a 4 inch black wire--other side is red...the tip broke off--i tried to strip it---but the rest of the wire is copper colored and thinner--the end had a harder silver tipwhat is a wire like this called--would radio shack have it--i can't seem to find it on their website
It okorder /... What you now have is stranded wire that has been tinned on one end. A tinned wire is one that has been soldered to keep the strands together and make for a stronger connection. If the wire must be flexible then replace with stranded wire. Solid wire will be easier for you to work with but not will not work as well if the wire moves a lot. Additional Yes you could solder the wires if there is enough to hook to. The size wire I think you are talking about can be soldered with about any small soldering iron and resin core solder. You might even slip a piece of heat shrink tubing over the wire before you solder the wire. After making the connection you can slide the heat shrink tubing in place, heat the tube to insulate the connection.
Q: I have an old house with old wiring. I have no colors to go by.
