Q:Which of the following wires would tend to have the least amount of electrical resistance? a) long b) fiberglass c) hot d) thick
Resistance = (Rho x L) / A Resistance = Resistivity (a number determining how well a material conducts electricity) x L (length) / A (Cross sectional area) That the material with the least resistivity, and the shortest length, with the largest cross sectional area, will have the least resistance..

Q:I have a 1997 saturn sc2. In the trunk of my car there was a wire dangling down from the top when i bought it. Asked seller and he didnt know. It is not the trunk light wire or has to do with any of the tailights, blinkers, brake lights. It looks like a factory wire. It has a bunch of holes in the connector.
it might be a connector for a cd changer. if it has a factory radio with a cd button, but no in-dash cd slot, that could be what youre lookin at. sounds like a square plug? maybe 10 or 12 holes?
Q:I know I am suppose to run the RCA cables and power cables on opposite sides of the car, but which side do I put the speaker wires on, ps I have an amp so I'll be running the wires from my trunk
You can run the speaker wires on either side, or both, it doesn't really matter. Actually, I don't really understand why you would run all your speaker wire on one side, considering your speakers are on both sides... unless you're investing in a half mile of wire! Basically it's pointless because speaker wires don't pick up noise like rca's do.
Q:i have some blue speaker wire in my wiring kit for my subs but where do i start it out from my head deck when i start to wire it all together.
The remote wire is for the remote turn on for the amp. It connects to the blue/white wire from the head unit (aftermarket) to the REM terminal on the amp. If your using a stock head unit, you can run the fused (1 amp, added to the blue wire from the fuse panel) blue wire tapped from a fuse that only has power when the car is on to a switch. From the other side of the switch run the same blue wire to the REM terminal on the amp. This allows for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the amp.
Q:Are toast - previous owner did a bad amp install on them and there is basically no wire left to use for mine.Is it possible to run a radio power wire/remote wire from the fuse panel back to the radio? If so can i just shove the wire in the fuse holder then stick the fuse back in on top of it?((Fuse 8 is the mustangs radio fuse))
Never wire anything into your fuse box, that will defeat the purpose of having it. You will have to do what's called a hard wire. You will need to run all new wires, which is the safest way to do it, with all proper fusing. A constant +12, a switched +12 and a ground is all you need for the radio to work, and all new speaker wires. If you can find one in a junkyard, you might be able to find a new harness to repair the OEM one, and that would really help you out. Good luck!
Q:Hello,I'm trying to replace my old ceiling fan with a new one but i can't seem to figure out the wiring.I have three wires coming out of the ceiling: 1) Two white ones that were connected together when the old ceiling fan was installed2) A grey wireI have four wires in the new fan:1) Black2) Black and White (would connect with the black based on the instructions)3) Green Grounding4) WhiteCan you help me figure out the connections. Thanks!
the two connected means a continous circut. Means it goes to something else. Tie the two blacks, from the fan with the grey. Your fan must have a light. And the white to the white. Your just compleating the circut. Cant really mess it up. green is ground ofc
Q:Hey there, so my cat chewed through some of my wires, what should I do to like fix them?
wires okorder /
Q:ok...all the wires in my quot;atticare encased in this silver metal casing....when i opened a bathroom wall...the wires were also like that.....at the fuse box...they all leave like that........sooooo, can i assume all my wires are encased like that? does that make them pretty safe from rodents chewing? (yup-been watching Billy the Exterminator) why were they done like that? tx for any info....
I don't think they would all be like that. Usually just exposed wires would be encased.
Q:wic iring codes for turner plus three wired to uniden washington cb radio
I love wiring questions :) do you want to use the PTT? If yes you can assume it is a switch and solder it inline with the lead the other end (after the switch would be connected to the lead end of the 1/4 if you have a pigtail 1/4 then this would be the insulated wire, the ground would simply connect to the uninsulated wire if you are actually using a do it yourself 1/4 plug then the same rules apply only you are soldering to the terminal inside the plug sleeve rather then to bare wires (I always prefer this its cleaner). Please Note: The PTT switch will cause a loud pop when it is engaged and released on a Hi Gain guitar amp and sometimes this can damage the speakers as well as delicate internal components so do this of coarse at your own risk.
