Q: I am installing a chair rail in a room with a window. When my chair rail meets the window, should I run it right below the window trim? Or should I give it some room between the rail and the trim of the window. I am painting one color below the rail and another color above the rail.Thanks for your help!: Apart from just protecting walls from getting damaged by chair ends, chair rails also have a visual quality. When they meet window frames you should stop them and continue after the window. Someone has mentioned to frame the window as well, but that's additional expense and if you don;t want to do that you can end the chair rail near the window frame in a manner that will merge them with wall and window jam.

Q: My wife and I are putting chair rail in various places of our new home. We have seen a few pictures of rooms in magazines in which the chair rail was quite a bit higher (for instance, about 5 feet up on an 8 foot ceiling) than usual and liked the way it looked. My dad told us that we probably shouldn't do this. Anyone have any opinions?: Well, it depends on what you want the chair rail for. If it really is to protect the walls against chairs, well, in those rooms you need it at chair height. But in the rooms where it's decorative, don't call it chair rail... call it decorative moulding and do exactly what you like. Putting it about a third of the way DOWN would be pretty... the 1/3:2/3 proportion is nice. Exactly half way is kind of static, so I would not do that.

Q: I am looking into buying this chair because I think it is beautiful! I plan on reupholstering it in some colorful fabric. She says there are no markings except for a sticker that claims it was reupolstered in 1987 or 1977 hard to read. There are 2 wheels on the front 2 legs. Other than that I do not know much about it. Q: I need to set up 'standard' chairs in various size circles. If I need only a few chairs (say less than 12), the circle is fairly easy to set up. But as the number increases beyond 20, to 30, 40, or more, the circle becomes increasingly less circular--that is, flat spots show up. For each person to be able to see every other person, flat spots are not good.: The rope or string acts as a constant radius measurement. Just let out enough rope to make a big enough circle and then use it to position each chair. Some simple calculator math will even allow you to calculate the size of the circle. Width allowed for each chair times number of chairs is the circumference. That divided by 2 over pi will give you the radius i.e. the length of rope. So for instance, if you allow 2.5’ per chair and you have 40 chairs that’s 2.5 x 40/(2 x 3.14) = 16’ radius, or a 32’ circle,

Q: we have to make a news paper chair only useing 2 thursdays papers and 6ft of duck tape: I would recommend starting by separating sheets of paper and rolling them individually, really tightly. This actually creates a super strong element, and secure it by using a little piece of tape. Once you have several tightly rolled sheets (maybe about 1/2 diameter) then you can start assembling them. Be creative here, you may have to do trial and error to see what works the best. Maybe grouping thirty rolls and taping together can create the base/stool part (you may want to add more depending on how big the chair will be or how much paper you have left). Q: Ok I have Chair test 4days and already 2 passed and I did HORRIBLE but I know my music Inside out and so right when I hold up my instrument my nerves take over me so much I feel horrible I play the wrong stuff complety and too fast how to overcome these nerves??: it's totally a confidence thing you just have to know you want that chair and you can't let your nerves get in the way. think about it if you know the music inside and out you deserve the chair! your in controll. tap your foot along to keep a SLOW steady tempo. it may also help to practice in front of some of your friends ahead of time to get used to people being around. In the end you can do anything you set your mind to if you are confident and there's no reason not to be. If you make a mistake no big deal rock the rest of it. =] good luck you'll be great.
