Q: Does it matter what kind you buy? Like, can I just go buy any speaker I want and it will work, or do I need to buy a certain type of speakers? Is it just like a mouse where it will work on any type?
if the speakers are powered by your computer than you are limited by your power supply. all you need to do is put applicable drivers for you speakers
Q: Hey,I've got 4 speaker all 200 watts @8 ohm, what would be the best way to connect them to a 2 channel amplifier? do I need a crossover?
You probably do not need a crossover if these speakers are in an enclosure and have a tweeter and a woofer. If they are the round speaker parts all alone not in an enclosure, you will need a crossover and other things to make them sound good.
Q: I just bought these speakers and i wanted to know if they will work on my laptop?(NEC Versa) and how do i make them work using Realtek HD? Only 2 of the speakers work and the sub works. I want all of them to work.
well, I assume Realtek accepts 5.1 speakers. so, after installing Realtek go to Start Settings Control Panel Sounds and Audio at the Volume Tab there is a section called Speaker Settings, click on Advanced Click on the pull-down menu of Speaker Setup and press 5.1 surround sound Speakers
Q: I need some white surround sound speakers, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of them that aren't super expensive. I am thinking about getting the Logitech Z-5500, which I have installed for other people, used and love, and just install some white speakers instead of the black/silver ones that come with it and use the console and sub from the z-5500. That seems like it would work well, but I would rather just get a entire white system. Any suggestions from people who own white surround sound systems? If not, any other people input would be must appreciated. Sorry for not explaining all this very well, I'm in a hurry. Thanks!
Yes Bose is overpriced, and inferior even compared to MUCH cheaper speakers. Brands? How about anything BUT Bose? Sony, Klipsch, Definitive Technology, Kirkland (yes, Costco's generic brand) Bose does not use a subwoofer. No, they legally cannot call their Bose Bass Unit (or whatever) a subwoofer because it's not a subwoofer. It's an overpriced, over-engineered thing that tries to sound like a subwoofer but fails miserably. Any set of speakers can do window-rattling-loud. Whether or not they can produce clear notes both in the treble and bass regardless of the volume is another matter. My brother-in-law has a high end Bose system, but honestly it just makes noise. You don't hear music or feel the explosions, you just hear loud fuzzy noise. I don't even need to turn the system up very loud to get room thumping bass, and I don't lose the higher end of the spectrum either. Honestly, the receiver doesn't make a lot of difference with regards to the sound. Pick on based on the features and inputs you need. Here, too, Bose falls behind. For $200-300, you can get a entry level receiver with multiple HDMI inputs and a swath of other audio inputs to satisfy most home setups. For speakers, I got a nice set of bookshelf speakers and a 10 subwoofer kit from Definitive Technology for $500. For something from Bose that even has a single HDMI port on it, and their fakey speaker setup, you're at least looking something that costs thousands of dollars, and is essentially a crippled home-theater-in-a-box (HTIB) unit with no additional inputs other than one for your iPod (and ONLY your iPod.) I dunno. $1000 for a receiver and non-proprietary speakers that will last me a life time, vs. thousands for inferior speakers which will fall apart after 10 years or so and can only be used with other Bose products (maybe) Yeah, that's a toughie.
Q: I just bought a headset for my computer. The name brand is Gigaware. They are the kind you can talk on through via computer. My dilemma is, it seems that if I have the headset on, my speakers dont work. Or so it seems, I cant have both on at the same time. But if I play music, I can hear it through the headset but not my speakers. If this helps, the speakers have a USB connection and I have XP operating system. I know headsets vary so the setups can be different. What can I do to enable hearing and speaking so that others can hear me through the headset without having to disconnect my speakers? Do I have to turn one off to use the other or can I leave them both on?Can anyone walk me through the process of both headset and speakers?I hope this question makes sense.Thanxbecca
Speakers are designed such that if you have headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the speakers, it disables the speaker output. The reasoning is that if you have headphones on, you don't want the audio to be played out loud. You could probably use a headphone splitter (available in the electronics department of nearly any store) to split the computer's speaker audio output to send the signal to both the speakers and the headphones.
Q: i have a 1997 infinniti i30 and the back left speaker blew! so i was wondering if i replaced that speaker with an aftermarket speaker would it work with the bose head unit? thanx
The Bose speakers are 2 ohm speakers. The only aftermarket company that makes decent 2 ohm speakers is Infinity so I would suggest using those as replacements. You'll want to change both sides not just one speaker otherwise the sound quality will not match. You can get by with using a 4 ohm speaker from any other manufacturer but you will be reducing the output power of the stock Bose amplifier and thus losing volume.
Q: I have a 2002 Nissa Altima 2.5(base) model, and I need to know what size speakers are equipped in the stock model? I need to know the sizes for all speakers plz.
Front speakers Dash : Tweeter factory speaker note Front Door : 5-1/4 factory speaker note Rear speakers Rear Deck : 6x9
Q: I have 2 180 watt speakers that I have in my room and i wanna set them up but i need a stereo receiver and i was gonna get a 200 watt stereo because that should be good for 180 watt speakers or do i have to get a 400 watt stereo cause i have 2 speakers, or will a 200 watt stereo feed both my speakers 200 watts?
It REALLY would have helped had you told us the make and model of your speakers. Without that, I cannot help you, as many companies use grossly inflated rating for the wattage that their speakers can take. So, it's quite possible that what you have are really 50 or 60 watt max speakers.
Q: i took the speaker out of my old guitar amp and i took the speaker out of a computer speakerand i need to connect the amp speaker to the computer speaker!!. how do i do it?!?!there are 2 wire on the amp speaker and 2 wire on the computer speaker does it matter which i connect to?!
Well technically, since it's a single speaker setup phasing isn't an issue, it will work either way. Curiously though, how did you find a computer speaker that big? Even the smallest guitar amps have about a 6' speaker, and it's usually a subwoofer; I think your going to find this speaker isn't going to work well in your amp. If your determined, look for a plus sign or a red spot next to one of the speaker wire posts. This will be your positive side, and the wire going there usually will be red, or have a stripe on it. the black or plain wire will be your negative connection.
Q: all of them but one are not working,i took out the speaker and but 2 others there to see if it was the speaker and it still didnt work, then i took out my radio and checked all the wires and nothing, i also noticed when i had the bare wired for the speaker out that when they touch metal all of my other speaker quit working and only my sub was working, what could i do
That speaker is probably blown. If its a new speaker then its defective. When u touch the naked wires together and the other speakers shut off that's normal. That tells me that the speaker is getting power. So It can only be the speaker that is the problem.
