Q: home audio/speakers: Absolutely. There isn't a big problem with that. As long as your amp is rated to handle the lower ohm speaker load, and assuming than the frequency response of the two drivers are in different ranges. You might want to use/make a crossover if their frequency responses overlap a lot. A driver only uses power from the speaker signal within it's frequency response range. So two identical 8 ohm speakers connected in parallel puts a 4 ohm load on the amp. However, a woofer and a tweeter both rated at 8 ohms connected in parallel only put an 8 ohm load on the amp, because the tweeter does not provide a circuit for signals below a certain frequency, and woofer above.

Q: I wanted to get the speakers replaced on my 94 honda prelude. But i think the ones i have on there now are stock. They are the sony xplodes and have the honda name on them. The reason is i wanna change them to something stronger but the speakers are slanted to fit the slanted board behind the rear seats. They also have 3 screws to fit specific 3 screws in the speaker mount. I never heard honda using xplodes as a factory speaker. They usually use cheap paper cone speakers. If the holes don't line up you may have to drill new holes. How do u do that with computer speakers and my added stereo speakers.This is what I'm working with.: Use the stereo receiver that came with the speakers. Get a minijack-to-component audio adepter and connect the component (red/white) audio cables to your receiver's line in jacks. Then set your receiver to that channel. The receiver should have an integral amplifier that will provide ample power to the speakers.
