- sometimes, with some speakers, you can blow your speaker by overloading its mechanical limits, so the voice coil hits the bottom of magnetic gap, or leaves basket by jumping out of it with cuted rubber and spider funny to see but not so. it's dead, and most of car speakers have no recone kits so you can throw it in a bin. but basically, its by overheating - described once, no need to repeat.

- Rockford Fosgate Punch 400-Watt Multi-Channel Amplifier is a excellent amp. rockford test's every amp they sell and record the numbers then put them in the box with the amp. The P4004 is rated at 50 watts x 4 at 4 ohms, the one i recieved was shown to put out 93 watts x 4 at 4 ohms. this amp is extremely quiet, you hear nothing when in between songs. the P4004 is combined with an Alpine CDA 9885 reciever, a beautiful combo. the rockford really impressed me, I highly recomend it.

- just get a speaker/reciever, you can upgrade when you move out (assuming if you live eith your parents) I get the speaker system first soundbar second if its for a non-main area (system: living room / soundbar: bedroom) or get a bluetooth soundbar and wait till you move for a system also dont get samsung

Although motherboard speaker is used for Beeps most of the time, there are some old games that play sounds from internal speakers such as: Prince etc, so is it possible to listen to music.
- NO you cannot listen to music from the mobo speakers. Just buy a set of speakers for $15 and call it good. The old games also have the OLDER motherboards that support multi beep tones. Now a days the mobos only come with single tone and single sound beeps.

- Speakers require a power amplifier to drive them. Your phone, laptop and ipod does not have the power to drive the speaker. Hope this will help you out.

- It could be a number of things, you could have blown them to the point that they don't work, but it really sounds like a wiring issue. You might have some wires disconnected at a certain point along the line. I think so investigation into the issue as far as tearing the car apart is necessary b/c it's hard to diagnose with just the aforementioned info. The fact that one tweeter works and nothing else is strange. Good luck!

- It depends on what your looking forare you looking for a home theater set up or is this for you car? Bose is a quality brand but spends a LOT of their money on marketing and due to this has declined in quality. I'm nto saying they aren't good speakers, they are very small and produce a good amount of sound. However, Onkyo and Yamaha are better speakers for the money (in my opinion). CNET gives good reviews on products like speakers, check it out and read around. I'm looking at buying the onkyo home theater in a box (sr600) right now.
