Q: What are the defects in the floor?
Strengthen the composite floor defects: 1, the floor damage can not be repaired 2, the floor anti-skid performance is poor 3, easy to damp deformation 4, poor dimensional stability 5, poor wear resistance, only Dan test orange Yao Yan Yan Jing Jian super suitable for home 6, formaldehyde Release, pollute the environment
Q: We bought a house with laminate flooring and were told by a "professional" in a "certain flooring department" that laminate floors such as Pergo were "indestructable". Now, not even 6 months into living in our new home, we have a scratch. Does anyone know how we can fix it, hide it, etc. without replacing the whole floor?
Check out Pergo website, or call the professional and make him answer the question.
Q: If not what type of floor is better?
Oh God NO!!!!!!! Don't ever practice on cement. You will destroy your knees , feet and joints. You need a sprung or floating floor to not get injured. The floor needs to have some give. Even a standard hardwood floor in a home will give you tendinitis if danced on for any helpful amount of time. That is why pre-professional dancers take daily classes over practice at home because 1) they don't want to be injured. 2) in class they get corrections from their teacher that they cannot get at home and 3) the cost of putting in a sprung or floating floor in your home is very expensive and you need the ceiling height to do this as well. Much cheaper and better to just add more ballet classes.
Q: Explain how the Earth’s magnetic reversals provide evidence of sea floor spreading. Please help, just this one question.I go to TLHS
There is a ridge down the center of the pacific. You can trace it up far to the north and it makes a hard right which is something to really think about. What caused this ridge is that the pacific floor is spreading apart about four inches a year. That space becomes filled with magma from below and as it surges up from below makes this underwater mountain range. That is part of plate tectonics. The process starts when a plate is being pulled apart and an example of that would be the Rift in Africa. The next step is that area fills up with water and and example of that would be the Red Sea. The ends of the rift usually have a V formation. Put that V upside down and it is visible with the Red Sea. As long as the tectonic forces pull the plate apart, this process continues and you have the Pacific Ocean. Should the forces change, it will stop and an example of that is the lower part of the Mississippi River. . .down where it is called Ol' Man River. The upper part of the Mississippi is from water drainage. At some point the pressure on the our plate stopped and the it just turned into our drainage system in the US. Makes you go back to that underwater mountain range and make you wonder what happen that those mountains at the end of the chain are going in a different direction and how does that relate to the Mississippi. Plate tectonic are really interesting to me. Having lived in Missouri for some time. There is a line across the southern part of the state and huge sink holes open up. I asked that question in geology and everyone shrugged their shoulders. But couldn't that be the V I talked about. I had a friend with a farm down there and it's on this invisible line. They took me over to their neighbors to see this large hole. Their barn and a great deal of acreage had just disappeared down this hole. Interesting stuff. . .hope this helps.
Q: how much it cost to cork floor 900 square feet. I mean at least and at most, where do you buy it from? who installs it? how much for installation?how long will it last?thanks.
Cork okorder Quality cork will last as long as you want it to. 50 to 150 years if you want it to and give proper maintenance. Care is about the same as a hardwood floor. For 900 sf your price will be $3600 to $9000, depending on your selection. installation will be about $3500 + - . Be sure you get a very professional installer, cork needs to have someone who knows how.
Q: I am looking at installing a floating laminate floor in my house and would like any input on which type of flooring would be best since there are so many options. (ex: thickness, brand, COST, ease of installation, underlayment already attached vs laying underlayment, type of wood, etc...) I want the floor to look nice but I don't want to break the bank either. Any help and/or tips from someone who has installlation experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Mr. Obvious and Big Fella are right on. the only thin I would add is get your floors as flat/level as possible. Depending on the brand and type, most do not like bumps/dips greater that 1/8 over 8-10'. Have used both Pergo and Kronotex (30 yr with underlayment and 10 yr with UL separate) and liked the results I got with both of them (caught the kronotex on clearance for $0.33/sq ft). With a good vapor barrier @ the foundation, (always get a moisture test before you start) and a level floor only the person installing it can make it look bad.
Q: Wood floor moisture-proof pad is what material
Open-type foam moisture-proof pad: generally made of expanded polyurethanes (polyurethane), which there are many subtle air chamber can allow the outside air into the formation of isolation layer. Its benefits are comfortable enough, light weight, and the price is not expensive; internal air chamber limits the flow of air, you can achieve a good isolation effect. The disadvantage is that it will absorb water, once encountered water can not be used; bulky, not easy to compress, the use of inconvenient, and the isolation effect is not closed foam waterproof pad to the good. Closed foam moisture-proof pad: the inside contains a lot of closed subtle air foam foam pad, the general market is divided into foam moisture pad, tin foil drained moisture-proof pad, folding moisture pad benefits is cheap, high durability , Even if the ice claws pedal, the same can be used; value for money isolation effect, because the air inside the closed air almost no flow, will not absorb water. The disadvantage is a certain weight, the thickness of the mat than the open-type moisture-proof pad is thin, so to choose a more heavy, sleep more comfortable. Automatic inflatable moisture-proof pad: the inside is open foam moisture-proof pad, the outer layer coupled with the organization of tight, good waterproof nylon cloth, at the same time in the corner with a inflatable valve to facilitate the flow of air is the advantage of comfort with open Foam waterproof tiles as well, but the isolation is better than the "open" outer layer of waterproof nylon cloth limit the moisture inside the moisture barrier, through the inflatable valve can adjust the size of moisture-proof pad size, and very solid, at any time Can maintain a certain thickness. The disadvantage is expensive; easy to be punctured or torn, although the repair technology is not difficult; weight heavier.
Q: How does the wooden floor hang on the wall, that is, how the floor hangs on the wall
Directly on there just like you are used to show the following small pieces in the next fine in accordance with the floor of the Gong Gong folder folder Yi locust turtle Weihai even the size of the staples can be stuck like a decorative strip Ye Hao also look at their own chanting
Q: What kind of baseboard is used for paving plastic flooring?
There is the kind of plastic floor of the baseboard, or do not have the wooden floor of the base line is also OK.
Q: the floor is concrete at the moment, but we cant have them far off the ground. can the boards go straight onto the concrete?
Moisture is the big issue. Wood floors over concrete can be either glued down, or floated. A glued down floor is self explanatory. A floating floor is laid over a layer of moisture resistant foam, and held in place by virtue of its own weight and shoe molding around the baseboards. A good flooring store will come to your house and measure the moisture in the concrete with a moisture meter before selling you any product.
