Q: Hi, I might be installing a floating floor that uses plastic connectors to join each plank. They lock together great, however I can still feel the separation between each plank. Can I add clear lacquer to the floor after it is completely installed to give it a uniform feel?
You shouldn't. The factory finish is done under quality controlled eviroment. Any finish you put on will not last as long. If it is installed right, the joints are barely noticable.
Q: 80 * 80 tiles multiple
A piece of 15 kg
Q: MY FLOORING IS BECOME BROWN I WANT IT TO BECOME WHITE AGAIN
You'll need to rent a floor polisher. I actually clean the marble floor where I work. What we do is use a marble polish that looks somewhat like wet sand. We mix the polish with some water, put it on the floor, and use a low/medium speed floor buffer with a medium pad to polish the floor. We then squeegee most of the polish up and use a wet vacuum to get the rest. Next, we mop the floor (alot!) to get the left over polish. Lastly, (after the floor is dry) we use a high speed buffer with a light or medium pad to shine it up. Talk to the person you rent the polisher from, and be sure to read and follow the directions on the polish. It can be a lot of work (particularily prep work, such as moving furniture, taping/covering carpets, etc.) but the reward is totally worth it. Good luck!
Q: If not what type of floor is better?
Oh God NO!!!!!!! Don't ever practice on cement. You will destroy your knees , feet and joints. You need a sprung or floating floor to not get injured. The floor needs to have some give. Even a standard hardwood floor in a home will give you tendinitis if danced on for any helpful amount of time. That is why pre-professional dancers take daily classes over practice at home because 1) they don't want to be injured. 2) in class they get corrections from their teacher that they cannot get at home and 3) the cost of putting in a sprung or floating floor in your home is very expensive and you need the ceiling height to do this as well. Much cheaper and better to just add more ballet classes.
Q: I used to live in an South American country and I moved to Canada. I need to know why aren't there holes on the bathroom floors in Canadian bathrooms? Where is the water supposed to go if I have to clean the floor? Should I just wait for it to evaporate? Also every time a toilet clogs, it leaks downstairs (in every single building I have seen, and at least two of them are very very new). Is this normal? Will it leak also when washing the bathroom floor??
I live in the US and we don't have holes in our floors. Use a mop and soak up the water.
Q: The floors are brand new laminate floors, only about 2 months old. We just moved in here and our realtor told us to use Orange Glo to make them shiny. Biggest mistake I have ever made. It looked great at first but now the floors look like crap. They are hazy, no longer shiny, and collect dirt like you wouldn't believe. I just now used ammonia, vinegar, baking soda and water to remove the left over wax build up. It helped a little and right after I did that I went over the floors with Bruce laminate cleaner. I thought it worked really well until I walked over the floor and then looked back and saw my foot prints all over the floor. So my question is, why on these newly cleaned floors can you see my foot print where ever I walk and what can I do to stop that? Also, do you have any suggestions on removing the wax buildup? Thanks
Biggest problem with laminate floors is knowing what KIND they are! are they totally smooth or have a grain to them? Are they almost plastic' or feel like real wood. the totally smooth kind have to be treated like no-way floors-- but not until they are cleaned properly.... use regular floor cleaner like 409 or Mr. Clean--- THEN use a Barely Damp Mop with JUST clean water- rinsing frequently... you want all the old gunk OFF! Drying with towels helps too. Then use something for no-wax floors. Ask at Home Depot or Lowes for a good product. If they are the more realistic' wood laminate-- follow the first steps, clean, rinse, dry.... then use something made FOR laminate floors... again, ask at Home Depot/Lowes and explain the previous issues.... in between mopping- use a dry push dust-mop to keep up dust (or a swiffer- but I don't like buying the refills!) You can even use a light mist of spray cleaner on the floor with a dust mop to get up foot prints and 'spruce up between mopping! Good Luck!
Q: Does anyone have any experience with painting a wood floor white? How did it come out and how long did it last? Did it get dirty very fast?
You would probably need to put an acrlyc sealer over the paint or polyurathene so it would not get scuffed up and dirty plus it would be easier to keep clean this way!
Q: I have a paint can that leaked & now the paint can is stuck to the floor. I need to know the best way to unstick the paint can
i would knock it off with a golf club
Q: I am installing vinyal floor tiles in the kitchen. I have self stick type tiles. My question is can I use tile adhesive with this type of tile and will it provide better adhesion.
Latex Floor Primer
Q: Floor is in camper trailer
I assume we are talking about a travel trailer. Some more description of the vehicle & the problem would be helpful. Although the problem can be caused by loose screws or bolts where the floor is secured to the chassis, it is almost always caused by a plywood floorboard that is loose from a crossmember within the floor itself. Often the problem will occur where two sections of flooring meet at a seam, where the loose one will rub against the edge of the one next to it. Many times the situation is as a result of water intrusion, damaging the wood or the fasteners. The correction is to resecure the loose board back down to the crossmember. It can be screwed or glued into place. This is easy enough, except that the carpet or vinyl flooring may need to be lifted to access the area, and if the wood is water-damaged additional work might be needed. An experienced RV technician can evaluate the problem pretty accurately just by walking on the area. You might run it by a reputable shop and ask for an inspection, and a free estimate.
