Q: I have a 1996 Cadillac Deville Sedan, and I bought a female wiring harness for it off of the internet. The Factory Wires doesn't include pink, but yet all the wiring codes say pink...the adapter I bought matches up to the Head Unit I want to replace the factory with, but when i put the battery back on and everything it doesn't turn on, I need to know how to wire this thing correctly, and if I bought the wrong adapter or not...Thank You.: Here is the original factory stereo dash wiring harness info this way you can use the new aftermarket wiring info and simply connect up the right ones to each other or at least figure out your problem. Q: I need a wiring guide or diagram for the stereo of a 2005 ford taurus. somethig that will show which wires are for front and rear speakers, and the remote start wire: do you know what wires run from the cd button on the head unit , i want to wire in a 3.5 jack for ipod and phone . the car did not come with the the cd player in the dash but in the trunk but this was missing when i bought the car . so if i tie into the cd button wires i can mount this cable to the cd button .

Q: Does lime wire add a lot of pop-ups and slow down your computer?: Lime wire won't do anything harmful to your computer, unless you dl a fake version of lime wire. It is the software, program, w/e you download from lime wire can mess up your computer because they might contain viruses. So, I suggest you scan the file that u downloaded from lime wire first before opening it.

Q: my husband is running wire to a hot tub, which uses a 220 plug. he is going to hook up a 30 amp breaker. what size wire should be used?: First thing you need to do is call your city's building inspectors and get necessary permits. !!! For your protection. #10 wire for thirty amp breaker. For 220VAC you will need 3 wire (three conductor cables) plus ground wire for a thirty amp breaker. But question is what is the ampacity rating of your hot tub? You need to size your circuit breaker to the ampacity of your hot tub. Breaker is going to have to be a two pole (double pole) breaker GFCI breaker since it is 220 VAC. since it is for a hot tub. You should have a red wire a black wire a white wire and a bare wire in your cable. The black wire and red wire are your hot wires they go to the breaker. The white wire is your neutral (grounded conductor) it goes to the terminal strip where all the other neutral wires are connected in the breaker box. The bare wire is your ground wire! It goes to the ground wire terminal strip in the breaker box. Now that said if you or your husband is not absolutely sure about what you are doing get an electician to do it for. First water and electricity do not mix at all good together. Good way to get fried if tub goes hot on you if hooked up wrong. Good way to burn the house down if hooked up wrong as well. Another thing since it is a hot tub meaning like wet area like bathrooms and out side special considerations are going to have to be taken for safety namely you are going to have to use a GFCI circuit breaker or have a GFCI double pole switch to disconnect the tub incase of a short circuit or excessive current leakage to ground otherwise you end up bolied lobsters. Well done and ready to eat by the time you are found. Not as easy as just hooking up three wires is it. And if you do not know exaclty what you are doing call an electrician.

Q: I know that a fuse is connected to the live wire. And I was wondering; since a fuse and the circuit breaker are similar, would the circuit breaker also be placed so that both terminals of the circuit breaker are connected to the live wire? If not, would it be connected to a wire that connects a live wire and neutral wire?: The neutral wire is never connected to to a circuit breaker or fuse. It measures the current passing through the hot wire and opens if the current gets to high. Although the same amount of current passes through the neutral wire, an open breaker or fuse in that wire would let the load be connected to the hot wire but not to ground so you could bet shocked from it.

Q: I bought a new ceiling light and wired it myself. But I cheated by just copying the wiring from the old bracket into the new one. I want to do the other ceiling lights in my home. Supplied with the lights I am using is a 3 - way bracket (sori if terminology is wrong). Anyway the old bracket I copied was 4 way. Q: for california electrical code, am i limited to insert no more than one wire per knockout on a box ?: no. the number of wires in the box is restricted based on the volume of the box but the number of wires entering a knock out is restricted by the size of the conduit or the cable type connected to the knock out.

Q: I have an old sewing machine without a plug that needs wiring up but it doesn't have the modern wire colours. There's one red wire and one yellow. Otherwise it would be difficult to say just by telling us one is red and one is yellow. Damage to your machine or harm to you could result if you attempted to connect red to earth. ------------------------ OK, I see your picture (thanks): Yellow is most likely the common wire. It connects to your white wire. The red wire connects to the Hot (black) wire. If you have a switch in the system, the red wire would connect to your switch or foot (gas peddle). And of course the other side of your switch would be connected to your black wire of the power cord.
