Q:All the mags i see always feature million dollar homes with celebrities. I'm looking for a magazine that shows how to decorate a tract house that don't have 30 ft tall ceilings, and overlooks the beach.A mag with a lot of pictures and ideas. Like a crate and barrel catalog or ??
I think catalogs are excellent sources for inspiration. Some more reasonable ideas for us poor folk can be found in Better Homes Gardens, Good Housekeeping and Country living. But I enjoy walking through design centers that have vignettes of rooms set up just to steal ideas. I find that what they've done, I can modify to my own color scheme, my own lifestyle and my own budget! I live very near the beach (no view) and I draw much inspiration from nature around me.
Q:quot;cookbook for diabeticsquot;better homes and garden. It is probably out of print
I collect old cook books but have just moved and ot all my books are out. I have a book written by Joslin in about 1918 . It puts fruits and veggies in to categories.Veggies such as lettuce, cucumber and celery go into the eat all you want section. Next comes the veggies you have to thrice boil for hours to even eat them. And so on . He makes it clear that there are no medical interventions for diabetes and there will never be any . He claims to think that it all comes down to not eating as the best treatment . I can't find the book you are looking for but thought you'd like to hear about the other .
Q:My mom loves gardening and little things in her yard to show off. What are good sites for gardening and yard statues or home decorations?
www.okorder click on business put in statues or statuary for topic, city state I hope there is a statuary in your area, they have loads of stuff and lots of unique ideas also. Should bring up it there is a statuary in your area. We have a huge one in our little city. Go to yellow pages see if you can find stores that sell them too. website - - do search for statue or statuary and also add 'in your city, your state'.
Q:Can anyone give me a list of careers, that give parties, sell with catalogs and basically are done from in the home? I'm looking for a list other than Avon, Mary Kay Tupperware but that are similar to the way these companies are run.
I do Purse Party. We have our own line or purses and jewelry and the commissions are great with a very low start up cost! Let me know if you want the info!
Q:Have you ever started reading the directions from the Book Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook? Because the results did not make sense? What Happened?
I really don't know but I don't like it anyway...i much prefer Betty Crockers' and Favorite Recipes press....
Q:I am looking to research the best way to upgrade my 1950's flat-top home without loosing too much of it's orginal look, but expanding some room areas. I have gone though the DIY website and This Old House? The plans came back from the Artchitect, but I really am looking for some epansion, deocarting ideas for smaller rooms, and style ohter than quot;Botter Barn IKEA look? What I want is my original style, but I need some inspiration because I'd like to keep the 1950's look with a twist of a modern yet Artistic style. Any website suggestions, books, magazines? I already have BH G, House So Beautiful, and so forth. I want ideas that are hard to find because of their originality. Thank You!
I would start by looking through old 1950's magazines. Such as House Beautiful - Better Homes Gardens, you would not believe how much inspiration you can get, plus, there are design plans and decorating ideas. I have a bunch of the magazines from the 40's 50's. I look at them all the time. You can buy them pretty reasonable from OKorder. Just search under magazines, back issues. If you want I could probably mail you one to get you started and give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. Let me know.
Q:Other opinions welcome too. When I add feminist in the question it automatically goes to the place.I cannot be bothered with the extra steps.
i don't comprehend if it has were given something to do with feminism yet i do no longer help living house preparation. genuinely, i'm very a lot adverse to it. it really is used as an excuse to stress faith on human beings, and children are in an enclosed surroundings, no longer in a position to question what they are taught. I ought to imagine that the large tutoring must be sure a more beneficial performance. i'm no longer confident it ought to provide a more beneficial education, even if.
Q:Is the Better Homes and Garden's pink Breast Cancer edition the same as the regular edition? I want all the information in the original, but I like the pink one, so i wanted to make sure I'm not going to be missing any information!
A lot of cookbooks carry the same recipes... look in it before buying.
Q:I like looking at architecture and I'm looking for a blogs and/or magazines that feature nice houses and buildings. I'm not so much into modern architecture, but more European/urban townhouse/cute cottages style architecture. I'm not sure where I can find this type of thing though...help?I'm looking for exterior architecture, not interior design, and something that deals with small houses not huge mansions.Thank you :)
Better Homes Gardens, Sunset Magazine, Martha Stewart Living Magazine Coastal Living are all very good ones Visit a few garden sites, too, Spring Hill Nursery is my personal favorite. he architural BIBLE in the Archetecural Digest Magazine. (Bar none) Look for magazines that specilize in the typef of architecture of what you're looking for. Country Living is a good one. And do a google search for Engliisshj Country homes And English Country Gardens, Before you start spending money on plant material. puchase t Western Garden Book. It;s the best to assist you with plants and flowers that will grow best in your growing zone. They provide excellent photos of garden ideas, too.
