- I would love to tend a garden or farm, the bigger the better. I would especially like to grow vegetables. Some of the best vegetables I ever tasted were from someone's home garden. - You should go to better homes and gardens web site and this old house web site. They have a lot of ideas on how to organize, start and care for your gardens. Also call your local extension office of the university or college close to you that has a farming and horticulture program. They will have good advice about your specific location. Also check into a local farmers market or vegetable growing clubs/organizations for advice. Some of those groups have plant swaps, advice days and or give plants for free if they have an abundance of one type.

- You will not deter Grey Squirrels, they are persistent pests. If you have Red Squirrels you are extremely fortunate, and they are protected by law. Grey Squirrels ? I just shoot them.

- Q: We are building a new home and are acting as our own contractors. We are having cabinets, granite, wood floors and tile brought in from other stores but need faucets, sinks, toilets ect.. Home Depot used to do a 10% discount card but neither them nor Lowes does this anymore. Anybody have any ideas as far as where to go to get alot of things where they might give a dicount? How is Home Deot and Lowes quality?

- Q: Most of the windows in my house have a draft coming in and I want to weatherize them, but not sure what to use that won't rip the paint off the window sills after I remove it later on. I've used the kits from Wal-Mart and it either rips off the paint or leaves a sticky residue. I've also tried using regular old saran wrap and scotch tape but that's about useless lol.Also, we have a set of French doors in the bedroom. Are there any special type of curtains I can buy to keep it warmer? Between the French doors, the window above my head of the bed and the basement door all in our bedroom it gets quite cold...about 5-10 degrees colder than the rest of the house.Advice?(FYI, we rent this house so putting in new windows isn't an option. It's a pretty old house (built in 1917) but is fairly well insulated otherwise.)
