Q: Also I have another question: If I move the entire group of sims will they get to keep all of the stuff from the former house?
1. To build skills, perform actions that require that skill. In other words, plant some seeds. You can plant seeds from fruit and veggies that you buy at the market. You can also find seeds around town on the ground. Collect and plant them. Some require a higher skill level to plant. 2. No. If you move the sims out of a house, whatever you didn't put in their inventory (or family inventory) will be sold along with the house. I also found that a sim who had bought an interest in a shop lost that when I changed the active household away from hers to another sim's. She married into the family, and the ownership papers were gone from her inventory. Very annoying. EDIT: Family inventory is a newish concept - I do not know if items in Family Inventory will survive a move. The stuff in an individual sims inventory should though.
Q: Is this even possible and what kind of plants would I use?
Yes, I would plant sturdy flowers that don't require much maintenance, such as lily of the valley or day lillys A few Alberta spruce trees might be good, too. Hostas would be good, too.
Q: Lets say, two bedrooms, one bathroom and a small garden or similar, how many acres does that take up on average?
that would be best on about a 1/2 or 3/4 of an acre.
Q: I understand that the shrinking and expanding of the logs is a problem with log homes. Is this less with cedar logs? Is it ok to mix log types such as cedar and oak? Is there a sealer that will stop the logs from getting enough moister to expand?Have any of you ever used cement between the logs like the older style cabins had? Any body out there a log home builder?I have seen homes with adjustment bolts to at the top of the walls to compensate for the expansion. But i do not see that in many photos in the log home magazines, does this mean they are just shooting the photos from angles that will not allow the viewer to see the bolts?............. And in reality all log homes have these bolts, and it is unavoidable or what? If anyone can help me with this I would be thankful.
I okorder /... Doing an online search of log house issues brought up those links for me, and many more. So if you do the same, you can find even MORE information to help you figure out what you need to know.
Q: Where can I find information about home gardening in the US?
Join a Gardening Club, subscribe to gardening magazines, get books on the subject.Internet has sites for gardeners.Right here you can ask, what do you need to know?Theres no better therapy than getting your hands dirty planting, and watching things grow and flourish.. Do you want to do greenhouse gardening, rockgardens, vegetablegardens or flowergardens?Theres an immense opportunity.Just narrow down your question and maybe we can help you.
Q: I want to get my mom an indoor herb garden for Christmas...which would be the best one to get through the winter? Thanks! :)
Get one with the bigggest pots you can find. Those tiny pots are cute but herbs will quickly outgrow them. The type where the container makes a greenhouse are nice.

Q: what to do before planting, when to harvest and what to do before winter.
