Q: A life style magazine that includes: recipes, home and garden ideas, true stories, fashion, beauty and health tips. I have to make two covers for different age groups. For the older magazine it will be for women, but for children it will for boys and girls.
Couture, Couthie, Dawn.
Q: Modern home decor/bedroom redecorating/ikea style/teenage bedrooms..any magazines like this that i can subscribe to online?maybe to canada..
Yes, OF course
Q: My yard is sandy, and even struggles growing grass. However I am tired of the pure ugliness, I want to grow a garden, However with the poor growing conditions I need the name of flowers and plants that would grow easy, in sandy dirt, and less sunshine. Any names of plants and flowers.
I'm pretty sure that cati/cactus will grow in sandy areas and most of them bloom during the year. You can also try putting in a raised platform and putting dirt in it to grow a bigger assortment of flowers plants. If you live in a generally sandy area, you should be able to go to your local home garden center and ask them for recommendations. They always seem to know whats best for your area! Good Luck! P.S. Rock gardens are always an option as well. And they require very little maintenance.
Q: I do know that if I plant it this year it won't grow until next year or the year after. I just need some advice on the best asparagus to grow in the midwest growing region and how to care for it. Can anyone give me some useful tips please.
Things to consider: Asparagus is a perennial, so plant it where it won't be disturbed. If you plant it this year, don't expect a crop for at least 2 years. Plant a bunch for a good crop each year.
Q: I was informed today that a law was just passed that people cannot have there own gardens and raise they're own food, is this true? if so could you please post a link or something so i can have more info?
They are referring to Senate Bill 510. It would give the government greater power to regulate the food industry. Hopefully this would eliminate problems with salmonella in peanut butter. The vote is supposed to be this evening. Because people who advocate for local food as opposed to corporate food are concerned that it might put small farms out of business, an agreement has been reached that the Tester amendment will be included in the bill. The amendment will then have to be included in the House bill, which passed in July. The Tester amendment will exempt farms that sell directly to consumers, retail stores, and restaurants within their state or within 275 miles (whichever is smaller) and make less than $500,000 a year from regulation. Sustainable food advocates support this amendment. It was supposed to be voted on this evening, but I still can't find that this has yet occurred. From my point of view it is essential that the Tester amendment be included. (Jon Tester is a Senator from Montana who is sponsoring the amendment.) The bill without the Tester amendment would not make it illegal to grow your own food, but it would subject you to many regulations if you wanted to sell it at a farmer's market, perhaps making it impossible for you to do so.
Q: We are looking to buy a home with 3 rural acres and I have been told it has a 6 gpm well. I like to garden and wonder if I will be able to have garden and flowers trees etc...? Can we just buy a holding tank for water? Coming from the city any help or advice will be appreciated
I am rural with a well and septic, and did not know the gpm for my well. I just googled it, and a government website said anything 5 gpm and up should meet normal household peak use. In addition, you will have a 20 or 40 gallon pressure tank that holds water, so your well pump will be able to cycle on and off less. The well pump fills the pressure tank, and the faucets draw from the pressure tank until it gets too empty, then the well pump fills the tank again. this is done because well pumps are pricey and you don't want them to run every time you turn on the faucet to wash your hands or rinse a dish. I have a 60' by 60' garden, and have no problems watering it with my regular household well. I live in MN and have a lot of clay in my soil, so I only have to water when I first put transplants in the garden, and maybe 3 times in July-August during dry spells. If you are in a dryer climate, or it's a drought, or you have sandy soil, you will have to water more often than I do. Don't make your garden too big at first, or you will break your back. It is hard work, and you will make mistakes, and you have to learn to preserve the veggies and fruit that you grow. Plant trees right away, since they take years to size up. get more than one variety of apple or other fruit tree that needs cross-pollination, and don't plant trees too close together.
Q: I just was hired onto an overnight garden recovery, he said it was like overnight freight, but im still curious as to what exactly id be doing, if anyone who worked there knows
Garden Recovery @ Home Depot touches upon several different responsibilities. Overall, it is about recovering the department during it's busiest season, after getting shopped with disregard by customers all day. You will be setting out plants, replenishing stacked soil, bringing freight from the overhead space to fill the empty spots on the shelves, and overall cleanup.
Q: Balcony landscaping what should pay attention to?
Not only with the main building and the surrounding environment in harmony, but also unique and novel garden style
Q: How to use "nutrient solution" to build "soilless garden""
Soilless cultivation device generally only need to spend a hundred dollars can buy a general area of 1.5 square meters
Q: i'm planning to do some home remodel, and any coupons would help. does anyone know where can i print or get coupons for home depot or lowes? thanks so much.
Yes, they will. The coupon needs to be an original that is still valid (not expired). Most Lowe's coupons have terms and conditions, and Home Depot will probably use those. Just so you know, it works the other way around! Lowe's will take Home Depot coupons.
