Q: Nursing home residents need to have their clothes labeled with their names to ensure that the laundry room returns the clothes to their proper owners. I hand stitched (don't know how to use a showing machine) to her clothes labels I made using medical tape a Sharpie pen. Several washings later, while the stitched tape is still holding fine, her name is starting to fade - apparently Sharpie pen ink can only withstand so many washings. I've searched high and low, but I can't seem to find any sort of quot;clothing labelingquot; device / system / tags / whatever. Does anyone know of anything? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice replies!
I've okorder / I would tell my patients families on a periodic basis just to check the clothing items every couple of months, and maybe refresh her name on items that may need it. The washers and dryers in a facility are commercial and pretty heavy duty. Higher temperatures and longer cycles. I would buy several. Keep one hidden there in her room somewhere. In a institution a Rub-A-Dub marker is a commodity! LOL ( I always kept one in my desk drawer).Maybe keep one on yourself as well. Then as you bring her new items in, you can mark them as well. :)
Q: Have you ever started reading the directions from the Book Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook? Because the results did not make sense? What Happened?
I've always used this old, beat up, Pillsbury cookbook of my mom's. Sadly, I'm one of those people that can't cook anything unless I have a picture to go with it, and my Pillsbury cookbook is pretty good at having pictures of just about everything.
Q: my garden is not to big so plant that dont consume much space will do
It really depends on what vegetables you like the most. What is important to me might be different than what's important to you. It all depends on your taste. Make a list of what vegetables you like and eat the most. Once you have populated the list with your favorite vegetables, circle the ones you want to grow the most. Once you have those then you can figure out what to grow in your space. If space is at a premium look for compact versions of your favorite vegetables, or vegetables that can be grown vertically ( up a trellis). This saves space because the plants grow up instead of on the ground. Many vegetables can be grown in containers, too. These are tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, lettuces, peppers, etc. To save room, if you like tomatoes try 'Patio' or 'Better Bush' - cucumbers try 'Spacemaster' or 'Bush Champion'. The most popular vegetables grown in most home gardens are tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, eggplant, green beans, peppers, carrots and greens ( lettuce, arugula, spinach, etc).
Q: Most of the appliances in your home are connected in parallel so that if you turn one off, the others stay on. This doesn’t affect the amount of current flowing through each individual device. However, if you plug too many appliances in, this can cause your circuits to overload. Using Ohm’s law, explain why plugging in too many appliances can cause your circuit breakers to open.
this is the homeschooling section for parents who teach their kids at home. Try posting this in another section maybe Home Garden.
Q: Home Garden gt; Gardening Landscaping. Lmfao.
nah man it looks cool.
Q: Mine is an old Victorian home out in the country. 5 bed rooms, 3 bathrooms, hardwood floors and a fireplace. I'd turn the basement into an entertainment area (I have this thoroughly planned out) big drop down screen for an in home theater and also a wet bar. The backyard would have a magnificent garden that I could walk around with a glass of wine.how about you??
something better than this as a home with horses and a place to hunt in , the garden is full with gardenia flowers , i want a Hall of Mirrors just like in Versailles , i want a fountain and a room made of glass above the roof with a telescope , and i will make love with my lover in the garden under the sky ! and have classy parities !
Q: Someone I know has a vegetable and fruit garden in his backyard. He used pesticides on his fruits and vegetables, however, he had been eating them for two months without washing them. Do you think he consumed a significant amount of pesticides to cause serious long-term health effects? This is a serious question, and the person concerned is very worried.Thank you for any insight you can offer.
Well, that depends on the ingredients of the pesticide used. Generally speaking, he should stop that from now onwards. If he feels that his conscious level is lowering or excessive salivation , then he should go to the emergency room immediately
Q: I'm looking for the buckeye candy recipe from he Better Homes Gardens Christmas Cookie publication from 1998. They had a 50-State salute that year, and the buckeye was the recipe for Ohio. If anyone has this, please please post it for me.
Try this: Makes: about 72 buckeyes Prep: 45 minutes Chill: 4 hours 30 minutes Ingredients 3/4 cup butter (no substitutes) 3-1/4 to 3-3/4 cups sifted powdered sugar 1 cup peanut butter 1 tablespoon milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 16 ounces semisweet chocolate 1 tablespoon shortening Directions 1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Or, microwave in a microwave-safe bowl on 100-percent power (high) for 1 to 2 minutes. 2. Combine melted butter and 2 cups of the powdered sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Beat until smooth. Add peanut butter, beating until combined. Stir in milk and vanilla. Beat in enough of the remaining powdered sugar to make a firm, crumbly-looking mixture. 3. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls. Arrange on a tray; chill for 30 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, melt chocolate and shortening in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Cool slightly. Using a fork, dip three-fourths of each ball into chocolate mixture so the ball resembles a buckeye. (If the chocolate mixture hardens, remelt over low heat.) 5. Place balls, undipped portion up, on a tray lined with waxed paper. Chill until firm. Store in refrigerator. Makes about 72 buckeyes.
