Q: Please share your thought.
Selecting a reputable producer will give you your best chance of getting quality seed. Saving your own seed from your vegetable garden is, in many cases, an exercise in futility. Unless you are growing heirloom plants most of the seed you save will not grow true, and in either case, it's impossible to determine the viability of your seed without planting or germinating it.
Q: I am going to start a business doing Wild Tree Home Parties and Selling Wild Tree Products. They are a natural Herb, Spice and Mixes Company that have really great tasting, afforadable, healthy solutions that make your life easier. I know that there are tons of Home Party companies out there...I have been to Arbonne, Tupperware, Home Garden, Partylite, Lia Sophia, Passion...etc. I hate going but usually when I get there I have fun. At Wild Tree Parties (called Tasting Parties) all that is done is tasting different products, no presentation, no games, nothing silly, just straighforward...So what is your take on this type of Home Party...would you love it or hate?
I think I would like it. It depends on the group of women you have.(young or old) Usually the young ones have fun! I like games at parties. It makes it more fun! I used to sell Princess House and my family was all Italian and most didn't speak English so it was hard to play games. I had to speak half English and then Italian. I played games with them and it got confusing. But when I did all American party, it was fun. I gave out prices. One game that I did at the end of the party to get more bookings was get 10 little gift bags, in 3 of the gift bags put a gift and it the rest of the gift bags, I put a Piece of paper that said YOU WON A PARTY! YOU HAVE TO BOOK A PARTY! I tell them , It's a gamble, you might win a prize or book a party!.they don't know that only 3 bags have gifts. So the majority will get BOOK A PARTY! It's fun! GOOD LUCK and have fun!!!
Q: What can I use to control ants in my garden that will not hurt the harvest, plants, or family to eat? I know there is some that can cause problems later. Serious answers only!
Why do you want to control them? There is not a patch of fertile soil ten square feet that doesn't have an ant nest. They will keep the garden clean, and aerate the soil deeper than earthworms. They don't attack food except for fallen, rotting fruit. If you have fire ants, you need to kill them. Otherwise, just let them be. Diazanon has been banned for home use in the US since 2004. Good to know that professional farmers can still poison our food with it, however.

Q: I will be living in very south alabama, somewhat near florida. I want to make a garden in my back yard and the size of my garden is going to be 20 feet by 30 feet. What should I plant?I plan to plant marigolds since I believe bugs do not like the smell of marigolds and will stay away. Is this a good idea? How many marigolds should i plant?Tips and other information would also be appreciated.
If you are planting now, as a fall garden, you are limited to varieties (flowers and veggies) that tolerate cool temperatures. Members of the brassica family (collards, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, turnips, rutabagas, etc.) do well during the fall. Radish, beet, lettuce, carrot and parsnip do well also. On the other hand, corn, peas (except English(sweet) peas), melons, squash, etc. cannot tolerate the cool temps of fall and will not survive. There are also flower varieties that do well in the fall. Pansy is easy to grow and quite attractive. Do some research either online or at local garden shops. The local shops have people who know what grows well in your area and can recommend some varieties and explain their care requirements. I'm in N.W. Florida and have already planted most of my fall garden: collards, kale, Brussells sprouts, Oriental cabbage, kohlrabi, beet, turnip, rutabaga and mustard. I still have to get the parsnip seeds planted; they will go where my late potatoes are growing. I'll be harvesting them this weekend and planting the parsnip in about two weeks, after I amend the soil with some leaves and let them begin to decay. Good luck and enjoy!
