Q: I do have two compost piles set up but I fear that they will not be ready in time for the growing season. I was wondering if there was compost soil for sale somewhere online that wasn't too expensive, or if there is some kind of soil at a department store which isn't high in toxicities or nutrient deficient.
I liked using rubber mulch - I checked it out online and called the company and ordered over the phone. It was very convenient because they had a rubber mulch calculator on their site so I was able to see exactly how much I needed. They shipped it to me in no time and I put it down immediately. I had my garden looking gorgeous so quick! I'll attach the place I bought from - if you're interested, they were a pleasure to deal with.
Q: I'm trying to purchase online some furniture for my apartment but I don't know what site should I logon to do so; Can I find some good deals compare to in store shopping? Thanks for your answers.
Shop at Directly Home, also they have 10% off coupon at www upon-code /Home---Garden... to save some money
Q: My 1982 paperback version of the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book finally fell apart after 30 years and I've lost my favorite Chicken ala King recipe. BHG changed their version online, it's not the same. Can anyone please help? Thanks!
This is the 1981 version, I'm sure they're the same. Sauce: Melt 6 tbs butter or margarine. Stir in 1/2 cup AP flour, 3/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. Add 2 cups milk, 1 cup water, 1 tsp instant chicken boullion granules all at once. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly, then cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Stir in 2 cups cooked cubed chicken or turkey, 1 4 oz can of mushroom stems and pieces, drained and 1/4 cup chopped pimiento. Heat through and serve over toast points, toasted English muffins or baked patty shells. serves 4. Add 1/2 cup shredded American cheese as an option.
Q: Someone asked the question a few days ago about the possibility of changing the name of garden and landscape or creating another category for the the youngsters that are always asking about caring for their weed. I hate to think of anyone contributing to these kids ruining their health, or worse, and maybe those questions should be banned altogether. But while we're at it, how about another new category for answers only, titled quot;Don't have a clue, but feel compelled to answer anywayquot;?
Or how about I don't know, but thanks for the 2 points....lol. Yes, those mary jane questions which seem to pop up on a daily basis are quite annoying aren't they? I assume they can be reported as dangerous to kids' well being eh? And they are suppose to be are fearless leaders of tomorrow!. What is the world coming to.... ...Billy Ray
Q: I asked this in home gardening, but I think this is where it should be asked. I need a quick fix on how to ground outlets so as i can hook up my satalite receiver computers. Cant afford an electrician to rewire a rental, the landlord is no help.
Buy the adapters but be sure to attach the little metal tab that sticks out from it to the screw on the outlet cover. On the older two prong outlets the electrical box for the outlet is supposed to be grounded through the conduit. That is why the adapter has that little tab. Most people don't attach it or just break it off. This is wrong.
Q: will polls surveys try and match the offer ?
If you decide to defect I would suggest the motorcycle category, they're all infighting over there about what bikes are cool and what aren't. Too many sticks up too many @sses, but you might have fun pushing their buttons, they have NO sense of humor!
Q: what kind of site lets you remodel your home on line so you can see how it looks before you actually do it.?
Better Homes and Gardens has some on line programs for designing your own lanscaping and they may have one for interior as well. Check their website. Good Luck!
Q: I know enough about recycling and car emissions, but how about activities around the home?
1. Use the AC and furnace as little as possible. Open the windows if you can 2. Try to use daylighting. Open your blinds and curtains instead of turning all your lights on. 3. Use CFL's instead of incandescent bulbs. 4. Inflate your tires every week. 5. Get your car tuned up and inspected regularly. 6. Put caulking around your house for insulation. 7. Make your showers 10 minutes or less. 8. Use Blackle instead of Google. Using websites with black pixels uses less energy than white pixels. 9. Try to landscape your lawn with xeriscape. 10. Recycle, reuse, retrofit, and restore rather than buy new things.
Q: It needs to be free!
I don't know of any online site. I did find this freeware download site. I haven't tried it, so cannot recommend any particular one. Learning to use a site can be time consuming, and difficult. I bought a supposedly simple one for home and garden planning several years that I still have difficulty with.
Q: Do homes in Thailand have gardens? What style? English? French? Balinese?
Most homes have gardens. Most have Thai style gardens. In the north people have fruit trees. Lots of Mangos. Also lemon grass because its an herb used for cooking.
