- Q: my son had his carpets cleaned and now his baby has hives. professional carpet cleaners are strong and he had them add a deodorizer because of the baby being sick and vomiting on the carpet. they had them done twice within a few weeks and now the upstairs person is saying she smells a chemical ordor and the baby sits on the floor and has hives. the apartment is a two story house and their bottom apartment holds moisture. does anyone know how they can rinse some of the chemical off?

- Carpet Tiles are sort of the DIY answer to laying carpet, since some people find the thought of unrolling the whole 12' roll and cutting it to be a bit daunting. - It might be possible however do not use a water based cleaning Solution. Water will make the dyes bleed. There are cleaning solutions that are considered mineral spirit based or chlorinated solvents. The non-water based solutions should only be used by certified cleaning technicians because of the nature of the chemicals. My recommendation, which may be the simplest solution, is to take it to a dry cleaner. They are licensed to use chlorinated solvents and will not harm your rug. Make sure to tell them the nature of the rug and the stain.
