Home use FAQ:

Q: Can I wash my vacuum cleaner filters?

Yes, you can. Just rinse them under the tap with warm water and let dry naturally for 1 – 2 days, depending on your local weather before using them in your vacuum cleaner. Only use mild detergents if you need and do not use excessive heat to dry (heated ducts, hair dryer, etc.).

Q: My vacuum has lost suction. Why is that and what should I do?

Don’t get frustrated. Here is a very good vedio clip from ESPARES(UK) that explains what's the most common reasons of losing suction in a vacuum cleaner and how to fix it. If none of the solution helped, please give us a call.

Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?

All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.

Q: I think I just experienced an "Electric Shock". Is there something worng with my vacuum cleaner?

What you experienced is only a "Static shock" and is not an "Electric Shock" from the motor or power supply.

It is quite common for some vacuum cleaners to create a static shock.  This is due to a build-up of an electrical charge in the plastic body and hose when vacuuming certain types of surfaces such as polyester and nylon carpets etc. Static build up is more prevalent in dry environments i.e. Humidity less than 50%. Central heating or air conditioning can cause a dry environment indoors. Occasionally, the user may feel a small shock as the static will discharge when the appliance is touched.  This also depends on if the user is wearing insulating footwear such as rubber or leather soled shoes, as if insulated from the floor, the user will not receive a shock, or at least, a very small one.

The appliance is double insulated and the metal or plastic vacuum hose tube is also insulated from the appliance by means of the flexible plastic hose. There is no cause for alarm.  If the static shock is a problem, it is recommended that insulating foot wear be used during vacuuming, or increase the humidity level in the surrounding environment or both.

Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?

Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.

Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.

Q: My Vacbag keeps splitting when I use it, why does it keep doing that?

Your Vacbag may not be the one suited for your unit, as it will split if it is not the right size for the vacuum cleaner. The bag itself is not an issue with size or shape, but if the hose doesn’t fit into it then it breaks it. We have a range of Vacbags for many models of vacuum cleaners, we can always see if one fits your model or if there is a distributor near you.

Q: I AM GETTING FED-UP! (how often do we hear ourselves yelling this mantra when that Life-long warrantee on the oven means quot;the life of the Productquot;?)I am feverishly shopping to replace the DYSON(r) vacuum cleaner that I bought and used only a few times. - Is this common for Dyson (stand-up) vacuum cleaners to clog-up the air chamber commonly with the dust, debris and whever-else I clean from my carpet?Does the Dyson vacuum technology surpass its predecesor (bags)? - If so, how / which debris SHOULD I clean with this unit so it will work without my having to totally-disassemble the entire unit to wash it out so it will work?
i sympathise with you... i have also had more and more issues with appliance lifespans... i have not had a dyson vacuum cleaner, but have used another bagless model at my mom's... the dust-filled air is pulled through the filter, and the filter gets clogged almost immediately... i took the filter outside and used a brush to clean the pleats, but the filter was permeated with dust... instead of catching the dust in a cheap bag which can be thrown out, one has to replace an expensive filter... i shall always choose a bagged vacuum that also includes a hepa filter... consumer reports 2017 buying guide listed reliability of upright vacuum brands in this order: kirby, shark, dirt devil, kenmore, bissell, hoover, eureka, riccar, oreck, simplicity, dyson, miele, and electrolux... reliability is based on reported consumer experience... however, among bagless uprights the top test results went to shark, dyson, and hoover... among bagged uprights the top test results went to kenmore, miele, and hoover... it seems the vacuum that works the proper is not always the longest lasting... below is another buying guide... good luck...
Q: so I am thinking buying vacuum for hardwood floor, there is eureka 2 amps motor vacuum with cord easy clean 2 vs the dirt devil cordless 15.6 volts accu charge vacuum, I don't care about cord or cordless I just care about power, which is more powerful for suction?
the electrical measure of the motor will not tell you how good the suction is. Two vacuum cleaners with the same motor type could have very different suction strength due to the motor design and even the design of the hoses. Honestly, I have never owned a Eureka, but the company has been making vacuum cleaners of high quality for a long time. If those are your two choices - go with the Eureka.
Q: i am trying to decide which toddler vacuum cleaner to get my daughter for christmas. i've been reading reviews and still can't decide. we have a dyson which we *love* but the childs dyson has the worst reviews of all, it seems. does anyone have the kids dyson, hoover, dirt devil... or any of the other ones? i really just want the one that actually works the best. we have 4 dogs and my 2 y/o actually will go around with our handheld and go straight for dog hair to 'clean up.' i'd like to get her up off her knees and be able to do the 'push and pull' with a real vacuum like mommy and daddy do since that's what she really wants... plus using the dustbuster has her hands closer to the brushes than i'd like.
none of them really work! I think you looking for a reall one. If you go to Target, they have great DirtDevil's and Eurekas that work like a real upright (they are) and don't need bagS
Q: Is there a vacuum out there it is a certified air purifier? I recently learned that vacuums blow out dust, even ones with expensive hepa filters leak some form of bacteria into the air.I'm looking for facts only, not opinions. Sources preferred.
When you only run the vacuum for 30 mins a week it doesn't make too much of a difference if you want cleaner air you must purchase an air purifier. IQair is said to be a very good brand though spendy.
Q: Or would 2 vacuum cleaners produce the same volume of noise as just 1 vacuum cleaner? but just more consistently? ie. the same volume of noise, but just more of it. Assume the vacuum cleaners are of equal distance and they are the same model. Some analogy could be made when you touch one hotplate with one hand and another hotplate with the other hand. Touching the second hotplate doesn't mean that you are receiving heat that is twice as hot, you would just be receiving twice the amount of heat.Or is noise more like light, where two light bulbs do equal more light.
no it wont be twice as loud. noise is rated by decibles and every time the noise is doubled, the decible reading goes up 1 decible
Q: PleasePlug in Vacuum Cleanerswhen finished
Por favor, enchufa o conecta las aspiradoras cuando termines. But I think you meant to say: Por favor desenchufa o desconecta las aspiradoras cuando termines.
Q: I have one of those Roomba sweeper robots which I really like since it saves time, but my mom doesn't seem to like it for some reason that I don't know. Does anyone here have one, and how do you think it does?
Roomba is good in theory but doesn't work as well as other vacuum cleaners. It's suction is much weaker.
Q: What do you think about the vacuums with the steam cleaners, like the Shark for an example?if you can provide a website along with your answer, that would be greatThanks
This might be something you would want to check out. I just did a review on this particular vacuum, I hope you like it.
Q: I heard Dysons are very nice, but they are very expensive. I could save up for one but it is all its cracked up to be? Are there any less expensive vacuum cleaners out there that are worth the money? I want one that doesn't clog easy and can pick up pet hair. Also preferably one that isn't too messy to dump it contents. Thanks ! :)
I have Dyson and I LOVE it. I have had it for over a year, and it still works great! My mother has had hers for 5 years and has never had a problem with it. Prior to getting her Dyson, she would go through a vacuum once a year.
Q: How many Vacuum Cleaners do you have at your House???
I have only one, a Dyson. I would not recommend anything else!! I have had them all!!
