Q: i accidentally spilled my nail polish on my carpet last night!! does anyone know of any tricks to take it out???
Nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol, be sure to dab the stain don't rub because it will spread the stain. Good Luck! :)
Q: Im deciding whether to get a wooden floor in my room or a carpet. I already have a carpet and it is really old and smells bad. Lol. What should I get? And why?
Wood Floor
Q: how to stretch existing carpet?
Believe this or not, it's pretty easy to stretch a carpet and tear it. This is something you have to be careful with. Take into consideration the age etc, be careful and don't overdo it. You can rent kickers and stretchers at many rental places but, like I said, be careful. One kick could ruin your entire carpet.
Q: I have been searching online forever, I'd love some outside advice. I'm looking to lend some color to my otherwise boring rooms. The color scheme is dark wood, neutral tan walls, sage green(sofa). I have some old club chairs in a light beige sage green diamond pattern, very muted.I've been trying to add color - I've looked at Target, Kohls, Pier 1....I love greens, reds, oranges...If you're in the mood to decorate, would you post me some links of curtains/pillows/rugs you think would do well?
Nice okorder / Hope this helps! :) Have fun shopping!
Q: What color of the tablecloth match well with blue carpet?
tablecloth: Blue, green, orange, pink
Q: I have the area rugs on the top of carpet. and sofa was on it. now the sofa is moved and rug is wrinkled badly. how to unwrikle it? I placed heavy books on the wrinkles, still they are not smooth and I trip over them. thanks in advance.
If you spray the carpet LIGHTLY with a mist of water and then place a plastic garbage bag over the wet and wrinkled area and weigh it down over night, that should press out any wrinkles in the rug. Just be absolutely sure to remove the plastic bag over the carpet in the morning as you do not want to cause any sort of moisture problem as you need to leave the rug there, flat, to dry. If that does not work, you may need to use steam. Put your iron on the lowest temperature setting that will still allow steam. Fill the water reservoir and allow the water to heat up. Then, place the iron an inch or two over the rug and press the burst of steam button on the iron to release the wrinkles in the rug but do NOT iron the rug or allow the iron to touch the rug. Allow the rug to completely dry. Either one of these two methods can be used as I have tried both, successfully. I do not know which will work for your carpet because I am unaware of the fabric content of your rug.
Q: They aren't succeeding, though the rug pad might get shredded eventually. Anyway. This is some kind of display to get my attention, but I don't understand why they think I would like that.
Cats scratch not to get your attention. They do it for two main reasons... 1. to keep their claws sharp, and 2. to mark their territory. And this looks like what yours are doing, especially if this is a common area where all the cats are scratching. It's sort of like a bulletin board for cats, where they all come over and sign-in with their scents. They don't care whether you LIKE it or not. If you wish to STOP it, then try to spray the area with a commercially available spray that discourages them. It provides a cover scent that they don't like. If they don't smell the others' scents, they will not scratch there... it's like they're trying to put their scent over top of the others. Check your pet shop for such sprays. Me... kittyslave23... I know my place.
Q: Someone spilt some blue WKD on my cream carpet and I've tried carpet stain remover, white wine and an industrial carpet cleaning machine. Are there any other ways which will remove the stain?
I don't know what wkd is, but here is a way to remove most stains that can be removed. A cup of warm water with 2 drops of a liquid laundry soap, mix well. Using your fingers dampen the carpet fibers. Try not to get the back of the carpet wet. After the carpet is wet , make a big pile of white paper towels on top of the wet spot. Now put a weight on top that will not rust or bleed from the water. Maybe a cookie sheet with a brick on top. Leave it covered for 12 to 24 hours. Remove . Look at the paper towel if the stain has transferred to the paper you are on the right track. Just keep doing it until its gone. There is a chance that the wkd has removed the color from the carpet and you can not fix it. Also you may have set the stain with the wine. For your information carpet cleaners have equipment and stain removers that home owners can not buy. Calling a carpet cleaner is a lot less money than replacing the carpet. One last word , your home owners insurance company may cover the cost of replacement.
Q: we are in the market for a carpet shampooer/deep cleaner but on a bit of a budget. we are not looking to RENT one. anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? we would definitely need one that agitates the carpet.
You okorder .
Q: we have some stains on the carpet and wanted to now if we could use zout on the carpets????????
. Can Zout? stain remover be used on carpet or upholstery? A. We do not suggest using Zout? on upholstery or carpet because, as a super concentrated surfactant based product, it needs to rinse thoroughly. When not rinsed properly, soap will collect dirt. If Zout? has been used on upholstery or carpet, rinse until no soapsuds appear using a wet/dry vacuum or a carpet/upholstery cleaning machine. So that's a no.
