3) What is the difference of Wilton Carpet and Axminster carpet
Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.
- Q: we live in a rented apartment, we have carpet installed but we would prefer hard wood so much better. is there a way, inexpensive much preferred, to have hard wood over the carpet without damaging the carpet? hope to hear some interesting suggestions, thanks!!
- Easy, simply build a new floor on top of the carpet but which does not apply pressure on the carpet. Imagine a thin sheet of plywood. Now, what you do is drive a bunch of nails through so they stick out about 1 on the other side. Space the nails an inch apart so the entire sheet of plywood will sit in top of the nails all of which are no further than an inch from an adjacent neighboring nail, as they go through the carpet to the hard subfloor. All you do is poke small holes in the carpet and padding. The same thing happens when a person lies on a bed of nails. The closely spaced, many nails spread the weight over a much larger area transferring the weight through the carpet rather than ON the carpet to the solid wood subfloor. Now, the problem is, how do you keep your weight from simply pushing the plywood down around the nails? Easy again, lay on another sheet of plywood and glue it together. The top sheet (with your hardwood veneer) will sit on top of the nail heads. Use wood screws to clamp the sheets together and you have a durable top floor surface which will sit on pinpoints that go through the carpet harmlessly. Build enough to cover the carpet. You will add 2 or so the the height of the flooring. You will STILL have a problem, avoiding damage to the carpet by water or anything else spilled which will work through the cracks between sheets and end up in the rug and pad. Somehow, you will have to seal the top sheets to each other and to the walls to keep anything and everything from getting to the carpet. And then, you would have to work around the edge where the 2 lip would be at the carpet edge. A lot of factories do this same kind of elevated flooring to hide electrical cables and piping in places like rooms of electronics. The difference is they simply build channels for things since they have no carpet to protect, and they do not care if dirt gets into the channels where the wires and pipes are located. It is going to be VERY expensive!
- Q: I rent a duplex and the carpet was brand new when we moved in. the first time i went to vacuum it tore up a big string of carpet. now i have 3 or 4 spots in my house that have runs in the carpet. How do i fix these? is there away without redoing the whole carpet? I would like to get my security deposit back.
- we've easily been commencing a seek for carpet for our new child's playroom. We additionally do not % some thing truly advantageous, as all of us comprehend it gets ruined. i does not reccommend getting too much less costly of stuff, except you propose on shifting quickly, because it gets worn down truly speedy. At living house Depot, the main inexpensive carpet I observed substitute into approximately 60 cents a sq. foot, which may be approximately $240, not which includes taxes and that i'm uncertain if that incorporates installation. in any different case, the common low end cost gave the impression to be approximately $2.40ish a sq. foot. After HD we went to a place noted as Carpet turbines, basically a extensive-unfold carpet keep, and we discovered a plenty extra desirable deal. We chanced on that there, the salespeople have been prepared to good handle us. we don't choose installation, so he substitute into in a position to grant us some fantastically plush carpet for approximately $a million.70 a sq. foot. needless to say, installation could up that fee slightly. i could verify with community carpet shops first, in the previous living house Depot. Carpet is oddly high priced, so i could assume to pay over $3 hundred for the backside high quality stuff.

- Q: how do i get rid of a carpet burn please help
- help is at hand, If you have a spare piece of carpet then great , if not you can cut a piece from somewhere it will not show ( under heavy furniture or from inside a closet) Cut out the scorched piece of carpet using a sharp safety knife, Dab the the bottom of the hole and the tufts with a suitable latex adhesive. Insert the tufts into the hole and leave to dry, then brush to blend with the pile. Save you a lot of money this way, hope this helps you out
- Q: also, if you can tell me two suppliers that sell carpet
- Carpet usually comes in at W= 10',12',14',16' or larger and Length in 50'. They are sold in square feet or square yard. Depend where you buy them. But you can get bigger size if you need from the supply store.
- Q: We are doing a production of Anything Goes, and the script calls for a chair rug. I've done a little bit of research, and it seems to be a thick towel that you would put underneath you to protect from bugs and the slats of the chair. Can anyone give me a little bit more to go on, or better yet, tell me where I can find one?
- The only thing I know about a chair rug is from years and years ago when I was a small kid. My grandfather got a small thin rug to place under his rocker on the wooden floors....it kept it from squeaking when he rocked. Not sure that is the same thing...but we called it his chair rug.
- Q: My carpet is a deep burgandy color.
- put another stain that will cover that one up
- Q: My son got orange marker on our carpet, (which is the longer strand kind). I went to my old standby stain remover of vinegar baking soda which I've never had any issues with until now. Now the orange marker is gone but I have a fairly large spot that's now much lighter than the rest of the carpet! And the spot cannot be easily covered and is in a very visible place. Please help!
- A friend of mine did it by a professional. Came out really nice and lasted for yrs.
- Q: To avoid telling you the story of my life, the carpet has ended up being a rainbow of stains, from dog urine, to juice stains, the works. It has so many different stains that are already dried out that it's crazy. I tried to clean them, but it was already too late (I wasn't here for the actual accidents). We hate it! My husband is very skeptical about it. We can't afford a professional cleaner and we seriously need to get rid of all these stains. Will the rug doctor work on these stains? Make them disappear? We don't really care about a deep cleanse, just enough for the stains to go away, when we move out they'll charge us for every stain that there's on the carpet and we don't want that to happen!
