- If it's detecting it then go to my computers try to look the NOKIA icon and double -click it. The folder structure of your nokia set will pop-up along with the contacts, messages etc. If you are unable to see the folder structure then you may be rquired to install the software. if you didn't receive any software cd along with the mobile set then there is workaround for this ie. try to get software cd for any Nokia N-Series and install the software . It has got sybo. os and got the same set of drivers required for n3230 , i believe try this will help.

- I'm assuming you have the data cable. in which case, your computer would need the drivers to know what your phone is. So do a search in google for your phone model and drivers. If you don't know your phone model you can usually find it under the battery.
- Q: Help me settle a debate. I say, when we test this data jack it will fail. But, my partner says it will still work. Again, the horizantal pathway is all 568b. But, the patch cable on the tester is 568a. HELP?
- Yes, it will work. The only difference between 568a and 568b is where the pairs are located. In 568a the orange pair are on pins 3 6 and the green pair are on pins 1 2. In 568b it is just the opposite. So as long as you keep the same pattern from end to end your data will flow properly. In your case your 568a patch cable will use the orange pair to communicate with the green pairs on either side and vice-versa. Check out the link below for some more details.

- I haven't heard of that yet, but then again, I guess that IS why they have so many little green cable boxes around in neighborhoods. I DO know that it's true for satellite though and the cable can't be longer than 150 feet in order to receive good signal from the dish to the house.

- you did it right. I would guess that the pinging problem is only because the XP firewall is on. Turn it off (or any other firewall software ) and you should be good to go.

- The LX160 is a pretty basic handset. Its also new on the market. There's not just a ton of memory to mess around with. I don't know if there even IS a commercial product that will interface between a PC and a 160

- Hiya ! Mobile phone text messages are NOT stored on the phone - they are held on the computer database belonging to the phone company - and transferred to your phone when you read them. Once deleted they cannot be recovered as they are deleted from the database. HOWEVER mobile companies DO make back-up copies so if you contact their customer services centre direct, they might be able to help you. Good luck anyways.
