Q: If only one press is used, it takes the older press twice as long to print an edition as it takes the newer press. If the two presses together can print an edition in 3 hr, how long will it take each press alone to print an edition?
Let x denote the older press's publishing rate (in editions/hr). Then the newer press's publishing rate is 2x (ed/hr). If the two presses work together for 3 hours, they produce 1 edition. 3(x + 2x) = 1 9x = 1 x = 1/9 So the older press does 1/9 of an edition per hour when working by itself, and the newer press does 2/9 of an edition in an hour. So the older press would take 9 hr to do 9/9 of an edition, and the newer press would take half that time, of 4.5 hr.
Q: Whats the average 16 year old bench press? My bench is 365 for 4 reps no cheating. Weigh 235 at about 14% bodyfat offseason. I still think my bench isnt good. As soon as i watch bodybuilders they bench 500 and that drops my motivation. Am i ok though?
there's not exactly a limit or average for people. I had 100KG on my bench press back then. I trained hard, so it depends on how hard he trains. Does he train bench press 5X5 and 1X10, then he will surely surpass my strength gains. Does he do 10X3, or 50X5, then he won't gain anything, possibly some small muscle gains. - There are no numbers to your question.

Hi, at 13 years old there's only some exercises that will prevent you from growing. Those are all exercises that you do when you are standing up. Like doing squats or olympic weight lifting. Standing military press, shoulder press, and arnold press are also dangerous for your growth. So do them when you are seated. So you don't have to worry about bench pressing. Keep up the good work

It works ALMOST the same muscles. Pushups works the shoulders a little more than bench press. To increase strength or mass, bench press beats pushups hands down. Strength increases when you exert your muscle with near maximum effort for 8-12 sec. That amounts to 8-12 reps. With pushups, it is more about endurance, as you can do much more than 10-12 pushups (unless you put a plate on your back)

It depends on how much weight the barbell has. If you have a lot of weight, then yes you can get a lot stronger in place of a bench press. You can do dumbbell bench pressing, which is the same as a bench press but with dumbbells.

I see what you are going through because I am going through the same thing. I do dumbell chest flies and dumbell chest presses, lateral raises, each consisting of right now 3 circuits of 20 reps of each exercise(3 times a week) and for me i did not start seeing results not until after 3 weeks . answering your question you should be seeing results at around 3-6 weeks. because it depends on many factors e.g what you are eating? how many times you do your exercise a week? and your body type. I would also suggest you doing 20-30 reps of lateral raises into your work out. going to your second question.as far as protein drinks i have the same fear as you have. that is why i don't drink it right now.(eventually I am going to give it a try) but I hear it doesn't make you fat. I helps you repair give nutrients your muscle tissue during your off workout hours. I hope that this information helps you. and remeber don't expect your body to look the way you want it to be over night. it takes a long time to get it there.
