- I think bed bugs are dust mites...although, in olden days there were pretty big bugs that did get into peoples homes and only a bat would protect you! Your mattress protector is mostly to help protect against wetness. You can vacuum your bed if you have a detachable hose, that really works best!

Next: Wash all your sheets and duvet with HOT water then apply steam heat on the mattress, pillows and floor, bed bugs die in heat over 120 degrees. Third: Sprinkle Bed Bug Powder on the mattress and pillows before you put the sheets back on. (make sure they are dried) If the floor is carpeted I would suggest sprinkling it on the floor as well.

- I personally don't much care for toddler beds. But I waited until my kids were over 2 before I moved them to a big bed. I do know people who moved right to a big bed with rails with young ones. Some people just get the mattress on the frame and don't put on a boxspring so to keep it lower. It is really more a matter of preference.
