- Yes, there are some genetic reasons why a child wets the bed. Night-time enuresis (the medical term for night-time bed-wetting) happens in about 10% of children over the age of 5. Babies are born with a spinal cord reflex that empties the bladder automatically whenever it reaches a certain level of full-ness. As the baby grows into a toddler, the central nervous system begins to mature and this reflex starts to be inhibited. Another common contributer to night-time enuresis is a child who has very sound sleep habits thus having difficulty awakening to urinate when the bladder is full. There are a few rare, but possible causes of bed-wetting as well, such as diabetes, constipation, and an abnormality with the central nervous system or urinary tract. Most cases of bed wetting are resolved as the child grows, but sometimes are 12 years old or older before night-time dryness is achieved. If the child is younger than 5, there is no need to worry as it is well within the bounds of development to not be night-time dry. Let the child wear some form of pull-ups and provide plastic on the mattress. After 5, if the night time wetting is frequent, a visit to his/her doctor is probably wise. There are a variety of medications and alarm systems that help children through this difficult stage. As a relative or friend of a child with night-time enuresis, you can best help by being patient, never punish (it is very humiliating to be a bed-wetter and making the child change his/her sheets in the middle of the night compounds that humiliation tremendously), and keep the child's secret safe from others. Above all else, remember that this is an involuntary act, something the child has no control over.

- Q: I am 18 and still live with my parents and my mom has offered to buy me a new bed and desk(new bed becuase im getting a bigger mattress and a new desk becuase they dropped mine in the process of the move).My room is going to be very contemporary with the main colors being black and green and all the hardware being chrome.I wanted to get new bedding that wasa little bit more grown- up as well as wanted to pick bedding I can take with me in a few years.
- The bed frame looks gorgeous - very mod. For the bedding i would go for number three, because although its a bit younger than the rest the dark green underside and pillows definitely makes it transitional - or if not number three then number 4 - very grown up and a pretty color.
