- Definitely the first bed - the queen size. This is a bed that you are going to have with you throughout your teenage and college years. Maybe try telling your dad if he's going to spend the money - spend it once on the queen bed. If he buys you the twin bed, he's going to have to buy you another larger bed when you are older. He can save money this way. Plus, the queen bed is only $16 more! Tell him you can do some extra chores to help out with the price difference. (Worked on my dad, hehe) Or - a different approach, keep your full mattress and search for a frame for a full bed. These are less expensive than queen frames and he can save even more! :) I had a full size bed until I got married and it's the perfect size for one person. Good luck!

- No, have a bunk bed where the lower bunk can also fold out as a sofa seat. The mattress and futon (lower bunk) are not that comfy - the mattress isn't good quality and the springs can be felt through the lower bunk, especially as a sofa. There isn't much space underneath either.

- Well, My son never liked to sleep in a toddler bed, and it was a waste of money when we bought that 5 in 1 crib, we went out and bought him a twin sized bed. it's big and he has been sleeping in it since he was 13 months, he is now 27 months. About bunk beds, I would wait until the child is 6 or 7 for bunk beds. My brother jumped off his bunk bed and broke his collarbone. My sister and I slept in bunk beds while we were in Spain, and she even rolled off the top with the protector on and secure, and fell to the ground. It's not safe at all. I would never trust a 3 yr old to play in his room , if he had a bunkbed, he will climb even if you try to take the stairs away, he will try. It's not a good idea. Buy the boy his favorite character sheets. My son loves Thomas the tank engine and loves going to sleep.
