Q: i do not want a zebra print rug, i want wall to wall carpeting.i'm not sure where to buy it so please help!also how do you think it would look hot pink walls with the zebra carpet?: From okorder They do custom sizes with or without binding. They have free shipping on rugs, not sure about carpeting though. As for the hot pink walls, it's not really something I would like but it would certainly be unique. Q: I have blue walls with a gray blue carpet. That would make for ugly curtains. Do they really need to match?: Go with a gold or natural beige. Or use blues complimentary color of orange if you really want to liven it up! You could also use a darker red with those colors. It depend upon your furniture and what style you are going for! Since I don't know all of the facts I would probably use the gold/tan/beige colors and then use color in pics, pillows,throws, accents,area rug, etc.Best wishes!

Having said this, you can try to clean this rug yourself, but the results are not guaranteed. You can remove red wine with white wine. Pour white wine onto the red wine stains. Let that sit for about 20 minutes. Then wash the rug in your machine using the cold water setting and Woolite. I would not add fabric softener. After washing, hang to air dry. Do not machine dry. There is a chance machine washing will ruin your rug, but cold water machine-washing is as close as hand-washing as possible. If you let the rug air dry, there is a good chance it will survive. Honestly, if I had an expensive cashmere rug that was stained, I would take it a professional. The choice is yours. Good luck. -

Q: Carpet anti-skid pad does not work, what should I do?: The carpet you buy should not be a real non slip mat. Really effective anti-skid carpet shop on the ground is not going to type, and I guess you buy the kind of black bottom a little, and that does not have any anti slip effect!

Q: My mother recently passed away. I had prepaid her rent for a full year. The bedroom had several stains on it and I recognize the carpet needed to be replaced, and I'm OK with paying for it. The bedroom is around 200 square feet in Connecticut. The landlord took the opportunity to replace the carpet with hardwood. He told me the carpet would have cost $600 installed but he paid extra for the hardwood out of his own pocket. The carpet that was there previously was the cheapest contractor grade material you can imagine. I have a hard time believing it cost $600 at $3 a square foot for cheap carpet installed. Should I be pressing this? I figured it would be $300 - $400, max, for similar off-white basic carpet.: Unless that carpet was near new you would not be responsible for replacement cost. Here's how carpet replacement liability works: Carpet that has been damaged by the tenant due to negligence is pro-rated. Pro-rating is based on the following: 1. age of the carpet 2. quality of the carpet 3. original cost of the carpet. 4. estimated life of the carpet Let us say the landlord paid $1000 for a carpet that has a life expectancy of 10 years. That works out to $100 per year. Let us say the carpet is 9 years old. That means the landlord would be entitled to $100 from you and no more. If the 9 year old carpet were in pristine condition [unlikely] he may get a little more. Whether or not he is replacing the carpet but deciding to go with hardwood is irrelevant. He will be able to apply what money he is owed to the cost of the hardwood flooring. You and your landlord need to address the 4 criteria above before he starts giving you a figure. This can be determined by a carpet specialist or carpet company. If he has already tossed out the old carpet and had no pictures showing its condition then a judge would determine liability based on what would be considered normal wear and tear on a carpet based on its age.

Q: cats knocked oil lamp on carpet, contents spilled: You did not mention if the result was ONLY (which is bad) a soiled spot or did it result in delamination... (the carpet coming up into a ripple type look)... Normally.. I say normally.. Spilled lamp oil, baby oil, or too much solvent applied to any carpet, will cause delamination. This can only be repaired from the back or by injecting new adhesive into the carpet's backing. If it does not show effects of delamination, you might try two things.. rubbing with HOT soapy water.. if not workilng, try usisng denture cleaner on the spot(s)

Q: I have a beige carpet that is in need of a good cleaning.I'm looking along the lines of a product that I can spray on, leave vacuum up does a excellent job at eliminating odors/dirt.I am overwhelmed with the amount of products, not to mention I don't want to spend $20 on a product when I could get the job done with spending $6....thank you!: This product is really for spot cleaning but the best thing I have found is a el cheapo aerosol spray cleaner, I think it's actually a generic knockoff of Resolve, it's $1 a can and I think I've only found it at Dollar General stores. It works really well and it's only $1, it's in a red can. If the whole thing needs cleaning I would use this spot cleaner first and then rent a steam cleaner. You can rent them from WinnDixie for about $40 and then the solution is extra, depending on what you want/need. I've just used the basic solution and it works pretty well but I would def spot clean first.

Q: In new construction, with concrete floors.I am putting in bifold closet doors which have a track on both the top and bottom of the door.Should I wait until the carpet is in to put the track on the floor, or should I put it in and let the carpet installer carpet up to both sides of the track?Thanks.: Call the carpet store and ask them. If the carpet and pad are thick it may be 1 to 1 1/2 thick or even more. Will your doors fit on top of the carpet, will the track be solid or will the door wobble on top of the carpet. If the carpet is flat and you are gluing it down it may be OK. If on top of the carpet you will need to remove it before you replace the carpet . Put the track down and have the carpe fit to the track.
