- Q: I'm a bit confused as to what happened to him. I guess I skimed a bit at a certain important part of the book. When Seneca Crane's name was written on the dummy during training, why did the people gasp at the name written in berry juice? What happened to him? PS. I am at the begining of Mockingjay. So no spoilers please. (:
- The same thing happened to me when i was reading the second book. I was so confused because i didn't understand why they were making such a big deal about this person that i didn't remember anything about. But Seneca Crane was the game maker in the first book. He was murdered by Snow and the Capital because Snow blamed Seneca for the fact that two people made it out of the Hunger Games. Hope this helps!
- Q: would 2 500 ton crawler cranes be able to lift a 854 ton bridge section 80 feet in the air?
- Sorry, okorder /... The farther from the center of rotation of the House, the less a crane can lift. That same crane can only lift 57.5 tons at 22 meters from the center of rotation of the House. Ben
- Q: who invented cranes?
- It is true that it is lost in the mists of time but I think I read it somewhere that it that Clarence A. Crane invented the crane.
- Q: It`s like a big box filled with toys and u insert a coin and then u have 2 handle the small crane to pick up a toy...
- There is one version called the Grab-O-Matic, and it is on sale at www.LeapsandBounds for $20.95, usually $34.95.
- Q: its dead im so scared if thes so called flys i tired to kill it but wen ever i get some thing to kill it its hideing
- Crane flies, also known as mosquito eaters or mosquito hawks, are harmless. There is no reason to fear them. They do not bite or feed on anything and only live a short time, maybe 24 to 48 hours. I have them in my house quite frequently during March and April. They fly really slowly and don't try to fly away if you want to smack it with a flyswatter. They are big and ugly but that's about it. They seem to be more active at night and are attracted to light, kind of like moths. Maybe you could lure yours out of your room by leaving a light in the hall and other rooms dark.
- Q: I have a question about cranes...does anyone know what the maiximim weight is that they can lift. A friend and I were discussing this and i was just wanting to know if anyone might have the answer. Thanks guys
- Do not know where you live but I worked in a Shipyard in South Mississippi That had Cranes which picked up Modules which weighed 100 tons. Most were in the range of 50 to 70 tons the limiting factor was the range of the lift away from the crane. The further away from the Crane the less the load limit but the Cranes were rail mounted so they could traverse and carry the load anywhere. We had one Crane capable of handling 500 tons, a real monster. These are all located at Pascagoula Mississippi. Most were imported from Germany.
- Q: I know how to make cranes and I'm pretty fast at doing so but in pictures I see of crane leis the cranes look like they're folded differently so that they can be stacked on top of each other.. Can anyone teach me how to fold like that so that I can make a paper crane lei?
- But I do different from step 11 on Step 11: Normally they fold along the red line. I dont. On step 10 you see the cross line in the center +. I then fold the right pointy toward the center. Do the same for all. Step 12: I the filp the right top layer to the left, same with the back side. Step 13: fold the bottom point to the top(one layer only) filp to back side, do the same. Step 14: flip right layer to the left again, same with the back side. Step 15: Pull and done.
- Q: Is the crane a metaphor for the woman? Or does it transform into one? OR does the guy marry a bird? I've been listening to this all week and cannot discern which is right...maybe that was Colin's intention? A little help here?
- It's a story about a peasant living in, I assume, rural Japan, it being a Japanese folk tale. He finds a wounded crane on the road as he's walking one night. It has an arrow in its wing, and he pulls out the arrow and revives the crane. A couple of days later this mysterious woman shows up at his door and he brings her in. Eventually, they fall in love and are married. Although they're poor-- she's a seamstress, a weaver-- she suggests that she can make this cloth that he could sell and make money. But the one condition is that when she's weaving he can't look into the room at her weaving. This goes on for awhile, until eventually the peasant's curiosity gets the best of him and he looks in. It turns out that the woman is a crane, and she's pulling feathers from her wings and putting them into the cloth, which is what makes it so beautiful and soft. Apparently, having looked in at her breaks the spell and she turns permanently back into a crane and flies away.
- Q: How do cranes use geometry?
- If your referring to cranes in construction cranes, then it might form a right triangle with the ground implying the use of trigonometry which is a part of geometry.
- Q: Four for crane, two for insurance, two for insurance. What does that mean?
- Refers to the air switch and the electric leakage protector in the electric tray.
