- Q: i have a canister vacuum cleaner that has been working on and off. When it works, it works well, but sometimes when you try to turn it on it won't. But then when you try again later, it works. And it hasn't worked when it wasn't even used shortly before so it can't be overheated. The vacuum is at least a decade old. I'm suspecting that the motor i nearing the end of its life..but my dad refuses acknowledge the possibility of that and citing that it just needs to be cleaned. I know when the vacuum needs to be cleaned considering that I'm like the only one who uses it!
- Sounds okorder /
- Q: My year old Bissell vacuum is starting to not work so well. It has way less suction than it used to and it makes weird sounds. Our upstairs is all hardwood linoleum so all I'm using it for my crazy 6' X 9' rug in the living room. Maybe all that cat hair is extra hard on vacuums? I don't know why I can't find one that will last. The one I had before this was a Eureka and it still had suction, but the rotating brush in the front broke out after 3 years of use. And it was used in an all carpeted house. What I love about my vacuum most is the compartment in the front that lets me easily dump out the dust instead of having to change a bag. But how to I search through the various upright vacuum cleaners to find one that isn't going to die after a year? Some of them say they are designed for many years, but how do I know what is real in those advertisements? Can any of you tell me what you use and how long it has worked for you? Thanks.
- I have been married 20yrs and we are a military family and so we move a lot and been overseas twice. So you can imagine how many vacuums I have bought in that time. I bought a new vacuum last year in February the day after my son's birthday party. I was trying to get the rug vacuumed for his party and where the belt spins, the belt sliced into the plastic on the vacuum. Not fixable. So that meant I needed a new vacuum. So anyway, the new one I got I LOVE!!! Let me tell you, I never thought I could be in love with a vacuum but I LOVE this thing! I bought a Dirt Devil D2 Reaction. It has a double tornado as my kids call it. It's super easy to empty. The crevice attachement is the longest one I've ever seen and so it works great under the recliner of my sectional! And let me tell you, it picks up so much more dirt than my old one! And it's reasonably priced. One day I was in Walmart and happened to go down the vacuum isle and this woman was looking at vacuums and asked me if I could recommend one and I showed her the one I had bought and showed her all the great features and she said it sounded perfect and put it in her cart and another woman witnessed this discussion and came over and said wow I think you've got me sold too! You should be their spokesperson! HAHA! So she bought one too! I've provided Target's link. You can buy it at Target, Walmart and other stores that sell vacuums. Good luck!
- Q: PleasePlug in Vacuum Cleanerswhen finished
- Por favor = please Conectar la espiradora= plugin vacuum cleaners cuando acaves= when finished
- Q: Are they worth the money? Do they really clean the air?
- If properly taken care of there are a great vaccume. When I was younger my mom had one, but since us kids were lazy and wouldnt empty the water when we used it, it rusted all the components. If you have kids and they help clean get a kirby she recomemds them as well.
- Q: They are just sitting around my bedrooms. How do I hide them away?
- Do you have any closets you could put them in? Don't put them back in the box, that sounds horribly full of unnecessary work every time you want to vacuum. Other than that, I can't think of anything. Look for weird little nooks in your house-- there's a good sized gap between the side of the fridge and the wall that's probably big enough for a vacuum in my apartment, so maybe you could find somewhere similar.
- Q: What Roomba Vacuum Cleaners do you recommend?
- does no longer recommend them. a chum had one- they do no longer %. up plenty. may be of use in case you have a huge room without corners (that is not any longer ordinary to software them for ordinary sizes) and not plenty furniture, yet once you have that difficulty how no longer ordinary is it to in basic terms run the vacuum?
- Q: I vacuumed a spider. Is it dead now or is there a possibility it will crawl right out?
- In order to use a spider killer effectively, a person must first identify the hiding places of these creatures. Spiders have a liking for dark and warm areas like, wall cracks, closets, air vents, basements, cellars, attics, etc. The cracks need to be sealed properly and all hiding places destroyed. The house must be routinely cleaned with attention being given to areas susceptible to infestation of spiders. People can use vacuum cleaners for instantly killing the spiders on the spot. It must be remembered that spiders spin their webs on things / clutters kept in an unkempt manner. Hence these spots ought to be arranged at the earliest. Apart from the natural spider killers, chemical killers are available too. But the chemical spider-sprays often contain toxic constituents which if consumed mistakenly can have fatal consequences. Hence these sprays should be administered as the ultimate resort, when all eco-friendly methods have failed to deliver satisfactory results.
- Q: Are Roomba's good vacuum cleaners?
- well-i'm on my second one--and i think i will always have one--simply because i don't have the time to drag out my vac every night--i have 5 cats and my floors need cleaning daily--i can get 2 rooms done with a good full battery...it picks up a lot--even lots of fur--but not all of it...(but we are talking lots of fur here)...they are kind of delicate and need to be cleaned out regularly and well---i bought one of the basic models--reconditioned and so far it lasted longer than the first one..! i figure even if i replace it every 6 months--it is worth it to me to not have to vacuum! so far the latest one has lasted a yr and a half!
- Q: thee is so much talk about kirby vacuum cleaners ,are they that good?anyway i want to test one and looking for one to purchase onlinewhere can i look?
- Kirby's are good but they are big and bulky. Shark makes EXCELLENT vacuum cleaners.
- Q: I am slow to put my sweaters away for the summer and out of the way of moths. It's possible a moth already found them and layed her eggs on them. I shook them all outside carefully, have placed them in a zipper bag and will add some mothballs. Will that kill the eggs that might be in there???P.S. I am not going to wash them all because some were washed and others are not soiled.
- Lavender is a much nicer scent--- and it will also ward off moths. Another thing to try is to use the new big Ziploc bags to store them in the Summer-- then you can minimize the damage by storing them separately....then hopefully not all sweaters will be damaged.
