Kerby has many nice features but is expensive. It is more for cleaning hotels and the like. But it would last you the rest of your life. The home models are Dyson the best for home. Hoover isn't to bad. The rest are cheap but will last for a while. With the baby I would get one with a heppa filter so it doesn't blow dirt back into the air. Good luck

Q: i am trying to decide which toddler vacuum cleaner to get my daughter for christmas. i've been reading reviews and still can't decide. we have a dyson which we *love* but the childs dyson has the worst reviews of all, it seems. does anyone have the kids dyson, hoover, dirt devil... or any of the other ones? i really just want the one that actually works the best. we have 4 dogs and my 2 y/o actually will go around with our handheld and go straight for dog hair to 'clean up.' i'd like to get her up off her knees and be able to do the 'push and pull' with a real vacuum like mommy and daddy do since that's what she really wants... plus using the dustbuster has her hands closer to the brushes than i'd like.: none of them really work! They rate the upright vaccums in the same category. The number one and number two picks by consumer reports were two different models of the Kenmore (Sears) Progressive with Direct Drive (one is bagless, the other one has a bag) The Eureka above is listed at third (has a bag). Dyson came in 9th.

Q: when you turn it on the brush should spin when you vacuum but it doesnt and when i pick the vacuum up it starts spinning..?: If your vacuum's belt is, in effect, a big black rubber band, then D S is absolutely correct, it is the belt. These things seem to be too short when they are being installed, but are made that way purposely so that there's enough friction against the motor pulley and the agitator to turn the brushes after they are in contact with the carpet. Over a period of time, usually, dependent on how much and how often you use the cleaner, the belt stretches out and loses it's tension on the motor pulley. The pulley is much smaller than the agitator and is usually very shiny and smooth, as opposed to the large wooden or plastic agitator. Actually, the belt is the only part on most cleaners that isn't covered by their warranty, because they are considered expendable. Get a couple new belts, install yourself if you're capable, and keep the second on hand for when the new one strectches out.

It promises to do same job as competition twice the price, but y'know....Vacuum Cleaners.I just don't feel like doing the 'buy, try, and return' routine, so opinion from someone will be appreciated.: Would like to know, too .. been seeing the commercials, and wondering how it compares to a Dyson. I have the Dyson Animal, and it's fantastic and easily the best vacuum I've ever owned in terms of suction and what it can get out of the carpet, but of course very expensive. Infinity seems like the same design with more cyclones, and they use the same tagline. Methinks Dyson and the Infinity may be one and the same.

Q: need a new vacuum cleaner what is the best brand?: I just bought the Boss Smart Vac by Eureka. It works great..I did have to take it back to wal mart twice to exchange for another.. Just stupid little things wrong with it. Like the handle release button broke off one time.. The one I have now works great no problems so far. Just make sure when you switch it over from floor to hose that the handle is in the reclined position or it will mess up the belt. I found out the hard way. Good Luck
